I respect your opinion, however to take stab Rick I believe is a bad look….. The man is so incredibly talented and diverse, whether we’re talking the performing side or the business side.
I agree with how talented Rick is. I enjoy many of his videos. I just find it funny when he occasionally becomes old man yelling at clouds. I don't think the makers of the doc slighted the talent of any of those musicians, which seems to be what Rick has the most problem with
To each his or her own opinion, but I agree with Rick. Recategorizing the music of some of the most influential and talented artists of their era for nothing more than personal gain is grifting 101. It just proves to me that instead of creating something new, they use someone else's talent to distort and profit on. It's the same thing the music and movie industries do over and over again. It's no wonder more people opt for the original classics rather than the "new"...and I use that term loosely.
I would agree with your point had the makers of the doc were the ones creating the narrative. But yacht rock has been used by radio stations and the like for a long time.
