You are really talented and I wish to see your snow miku design in the future. I'm always scared to see people's opinion on my snow miku because I know it has mixed opinions, and I wish I could had work that design more. But she becoming a figure and be able to hold her in real life is an infinite joy and I love her as my child. Her pastel colors are so well done in the figure, I wish I could squish her like the cloud she is. She inspires me now to become a better designer and keep working hard. Let me tell you, Serene Winter is my current favorite Snow Miku for personal reasons. Isakytm was already a well-known Spanish illustrator and webtoon creator of Lalin's Curse, so I was already following them in 2019. They are a huge fan of Snow Miku and have already entered a few entries from the past themes. So, when Isakytm's design won, every one of their fans was freaking out. I still remember a handful of tweets and replies on Twitter reacting to the reveal of the Nendoroid. I even teared up a bit when I saw Isakytm's reaction to her Snow Miku performing Snow Mix last year. I entered last year's contest and I am planning on entering again due to being inspired by Isakytm's journey. I know it's a 40/60 chance, but I hope that one day one of my entries becomes a part of that tradition!

I have been WAITING for someone to cover this topic, I am a massive Snow Miku fan so I feel like this video absolutely did her justice! Grand Voyage is also my favorite! But Snow Princess and Parade will always have a special place in my heart
Loved the vid! I was surprised to see you branch out into Miku design, but I'm glad. I had seen some of the designs throughout the years but never realized it was a public contest type deal. I was mostly a casual listener in the late 2000s/early 2010s of Vocaloid, but the 2020s revival has gotten me interested in Vocaloid and other voice software based characters. (Zundamon is adorable!) I feel like I better understand the hype around snow Miku now. I like how Miku has become a character that various creators get to collab on. Something I like about Japan's doujin scene (as in indie, not "those" doujins lol) is it creates a space for creators to experiment and connect. I felt like that kind of space was lacking in the US because of copyright laws and lack of doujin event structures (and honestly seeming lack of demand). But when Vtuber culture blew up overseas, I felt like it became a similar space for kaigai nikki where everyone was having fun creating together. Sorry this got a bit long but I'm really passionate about this. You've really helped me better understand and enjoy character design! ❤

This is my first time seeing ur updated design after seeing u from your design/concept videos. It goes hard indubitably. ᕦ(ò□ó✿)ᕤ I feel inspired to give my ver. 2 design an actual shaped nose instead of the minimalist nose I have right now.
To me, some designs are *clearly* weaker than others, not bc of the abilities of the artist, but rather bc they leap off the theme SO FAR OFF, it doesn't look like a "snow" miku anymore. The iconic first design had this, "ethereal snow element being", that it's REALLY hard to replicate without feeling repetitive, but you can make another kind of design and still think, "yeah, that's snow miku for sure", but some of these never reminded me of her when looking at them without any context. My least favorite is the boat/crab themed, if i'm allowed to call it that, and i didn't liked it bc it barely makes contact with the original snow miku at all(nothing ties it very well with her, they are very well executed but go into TOTALLY different directions); and the weakest one are the snow princess one, and the snow parade one. If you didn't told me they were snow mikus, i would never have guessed so, and the parade one is really repetitive when you keep in mind there is a conductor just a few years prior, which is *also* music themed. Serene Winter is also weak in some areas, but compensates in others, but it just feels soooo… Repetitive, to me. There's a pastel colour obsession lately in everything that is designed lately, from all over the internet, so it just feels like one more of the to me, a chronically online person. But the concept is very romantic and unique, so i could totally see a decent design w/ this as concept alone. Winter delicacy doesn't look snowy tho, looks more "winter-y", but the name says so, so i totally agree and aprove the decision to make it more it's own thing, rather than a repeating snow theme, more of a cozy winter thing, it is refreshing and more unique in it's own way, with such a unique colour palette too. Overall, the video shows the strong points of all the designs and why most probably all of them were chosen among thousands of others, so i loved this little artistic analysis. Will be waiting for more.
Not to be a downer, but Poka Poka Planet is my least favorite Snow Miku by a long shot tbh. It feels so bland and I don't get why they made her sound like a child. 2019 Ai and 2021 Fondant Step [not Snow Fondant...] easily solo it
