I’m trying to figure out if this would work as a couple... At the moment it seems as if he kind of hates her at some moments, and in others is either confused by her or trying to impress her and she just doesn’t care. In a way it seems like she is grinding his gears but at the same time growing on him and challenging him, while he is trying to be all professional and stilted. Honestly, I don’t know, but I would kind of love to hear other people’s opinions on this. I think Awkafina is just one of the greatest people out there

It's really sad to even think about it tbh.
I don't understand why it's so foreign to have an Asian or whatever ethnic person on the screen? These two people talking in the interview are Americans just like anyone else but they happen to have Asian heritage. Why is it so weird for American audiences when these actors who don't look like them exactly, are Americans themselves. They are culturally American. Their nationality is American. The majority are born and raised in America, not in Asia for 2nd or 3rd generations. One thing that stands out is they embrace their roots as well.
It's so sad to happen to accept this. Especially when people reject their existence and treat them as the 'other'. I'm not American myself, but as an aussie, it's really disappointing that western countries have this kind of rhetoric attitude. But when there are movies where actors and actresses exist like these people here, really give a good foundation for a better future of untold story-telling movies. Some might not be perfect but that's pretty much demonstrated by any bad movies and good movies anyway. I don't think race or anything should the primary focus, rather, the storytelling it presents and the impact it leaves and resonates to the audience matter more.
