Thanks for showing us around crossbar. I love the idea of doing an external reservoir. We've been around 4 trail fires to date and 3 of those have been power steering fluid on the exhaust.
Glad your rig didn’t burn to the ground. I am in the process of a Hemi swap myself (5.7L) the power steering pump has a remote reservoir. It was out of a dodge magnum… hope that helps!
Glad you caught it quick enough! The 1 and only time I have ever dealt with a Jeep fire was also power steering related. Except with mine the power steering pump housing fractured and crack in half. Hairline crack spewed fluid upwards against the hood and then came raining down onto the hot exhaust manifold and caught fire. Scariest moment of my life as a Jeep owner haha
Good reason to have an extinguisher reachable from the driver seat. If you were backed up against a big rock or a tree you may not have been able to reach it in a timely manner
Have a couple of aerosol fire extinguishers mounted outside of the front seat base on each front seats. Never used them before and hope they work if ever needed lol
Glad there was no serious damage. I had a situation once where my transmission (THM-400) got so hot that it burped hot fluid out the filler and ignited on the manifold. Good move not to open the hood and feed the fire with more air, ask me how I know!
@@JKGearandGadgets Dang. Those are some thick sidewalls then. Usually rubber would wrap a little more around the rock for more grip which makes rock crawling a lot easier and less bouncing around 👌
2:26 thank GOD Cassie was there to tell you to “hustle” or I don’t think you would’ve recognized the sense of urgency after she told you the Jeep was on fire… 🤦🏻♂️
Very hard to answer as they are very different rigs. The Ls is perfect in a TJ or Lj, and its easier to integrate. The JK is much heavier, so the 6.4 fits it better. The LS feels great in cassies LJ, and with the Holley its easy to make tuning changes. But the hemi makes way more power and would probably smoke the LJ in a race. Short and sweet, i think the hemi is best in a newer jeep (JK, LJ, JT). But in older rigs or something built for fun (Race jeep) the LS shines.
Atleast the brief fire didn’t scare the kids too much😂 LJ to the rescue!😆

What a great tip having an extra loop in the air line. I’m stealing that one!
Nice to see a video of you both off-roading your Jeeps and not always stuck in the garage.

Jk was spitting hot fyah! Glad you had a fire extinguisher ready!

Always an adventure! Glad the fire damage was not too bad.
The fire extinguisher is your Beast friend.

Wow - glad you got it under control so quickly 🔥🔥🔥
Pity about the fire... at least it was not major! Love that JK.
Cassie's LJ is awesome!

Where can you purchase the Jeep Warning sticker?
LJ for the win!!!!!!
Tell your JKU friend since they broke that stub shaft, upgrade to a RCV shaft and you won’t have to worry about it again. Much stronger.
RCVs still break
What do you deflate the tyres to?
On this, usually around 8 psi

FIRE FIRE FIRE< Fire in the forward engine room, THIS IS NOT A DRILL

Ya gotta have that extinguisher closer.
POS !!!!……Just kidding Benn….I’m glad it wasn’t bad….I would be broken if my Jeep burned…..
I know I’m sick to my stomach about missing out on a very good deal on a 04 LJ that went up for sale for only $7,000.
Were you in 4hi?
Low
@@JKGearandGadgets how do you spin the tires so fast in 4lo? Can’t something break?
Ben or Cassie! So what feels better the Hemi or the LS?
