I often struggle with the root when using 1.2mm wire or (048) if that’s what you class it as. You need too much heat for that wire size that you burn through or don’t get a good puddle when I turn it down. I keep smaller wire in another machine but it’s a pain to keep changing machine! Thanks for the video👍🇬🇧
How is the grinding disk you are using, looks like a cubitron disk 3M (if thats spelt right). Starting to have them come into my workplace. Pros and cons of it if you can provide that please? 7:35 .
why the pulling angle I was always taught to push mig is that just because it's an open root and you need to move the weld puddle just by adding reinforcement backward into the puddle and walking it forward
Bro I love this video. The most realistic repair vid I’ve seen. Was just in this same spot last week on a pipe and I didn’t make it happen. Good stuff
Thank you, friend, for showing the reality of our very difficult industry. Some of my projects humble the c*** out of me, too.😂
Humble the what?! 😂

Band saw blade with a piece of shrink wrap on it works wonders for getting the burs off
Dig all your setup information.
MIG welding was performed at our Nuke plant on the feed water piping and lack of fusion was found through out the welds.
Damn. Maybe dual shield would've been better. Certainly don't need any leaks there.
I’m gonna be honest my outlaw hood is probably the worst hood I’ve ever owned I’ve hated it since the first time I ever wore it
Yea outlaw leather sucks
@@Thewelderlife are we talking about the leather ones or the sugar scoops? I have the scoop and have zero issues with it.
@@rooster12b i just stop buying there seems like everything there is cheap for a premium price theres better options out there

Good job 😊
Would that be a failed test?

When you pull on an open butt it's much easier to stay in the puddle and there's enough concentrated heat to ensure adequate penetration.
Need more for people with the very cheapest flux core welders, please 👍 especially overhead and vertical techniques 👍
You don’t have these problems with stick.
Too bad mig wire isn't a pre approved electrode for structural applications per AWS D1.1
That thumbnail broooo😅
Mag welding
