For those of you who are wondering what Xbox games will run on Xemu, the answer is pretty much most of them. I've only just set my Steamdeck up for emulators, despite having my deck for over 2 years. I've just put Xemu on it, and it played Marvel Ultimate Alliance perfectly, and I mean perfectly, at 60 FPS. It even played better on the Deck, than on the original system. It's not often that I am gobsmacked, but that experience was gobsmacking. The emulation possibilities with the Steamdeck are almost limitless. In fact, I am sorely, so sorely tempted to buy a second, refurbished 512GB Steam Deck, at the end of the month, put a 1TB Micro SD card in it, and use it solely for emulation purposes. The amount of systems available, from a retro emulation perspective, are out of this world. The amount of games that you have access to, are, literally, mind blowing.

Been using this video for 2 months and it works, but every time I launch through Deck OS or Emu I get the "failed to load" message and always have to load the files manually to launch, are mine in the wrong place? I deleted the extra bin file and I still get this message every single time.
Also love these tutorials, you're simple and straight to the point. Nothing extra, you don't get sidetracked with nerd talk, no cats walking into the camera, etc... just plain pure education for the average gaming community and we definitely appreciate this big bro.

If you have a JTAG/RGH 360 or a Japanese 360, Magatama is backwards compatible. Microsoft had a few of the Japan only games backwards compatible for Japanese audiences such as Tenerezza, Rent-A-Hero, ExaSkeleton, Bistro Cupid, Flight Academy, Petit Copter, Puyo Puyo Fever and Thousand Land (FromSoft's first Xbox game).

Hey Alex. I am having trouble on the Steam Rom Manager part I believe. I was unable to find the file location for some items so I had to manually type them in. When I did that, my games were found and I was able to get to the game art page and everything. Then I went to Xemu and I am hit with the “Guest has not initialized the display (yet)” message. To top things off, I went back to Steam Rom Manager and the data I inputted was gone. Would you be able to assist me by any chance?

Hi my best friend, just want to report that some of classic Xbox games I tried on xemu for the steamdeck do not show cutscenes though the games play perfectly. I am wondering perhaps you know the best setting to make the cutscenes appear during the gameplay. I highly appreciate your advice, my best friend.😊

Does the Xemu emulator not able to render cutscenes on Steam Deck? Tried 2 games (Ninja Gaiden Black and Breackdown) and when cutscenes are supposed to happen I just get a black screen. I do hear the audio from the cutscenes...

I have an issue most of my games run but have half the textures. For example Midtown madness has every texture half invisible and you can see through the world. Tony Hawk 2x thge textures that are supposed to say words in the menus for options and stats are all jibberish.

So I'm running Crazy Taxi 3 and Fable. I get straight black
/white screen and lag. It boots the games but am I missing something? Xemu website says they're playable but I can't seem to play them. Is it the ROMs themselves? I know they aren't perfect but damn lol

Hey I've followed all of the instructions, but when i try to launch xemu (after putting in the three pieces of information in the right order) it opens for a second but immediately closes, same when trying to access the emulated game through steam after completing the steps here. Upon pressing play it looks like it'll run but then takes me back to the play screen.

Getting the same issue. Followed all of the instructions but after trying to launch, it looks like it's about to go, and then just goes right back to 'play' screen without indicating any kind of error.
I fixed this issue by updating Xemu throw emudecks emulator manager.
Can someone help me on this please, I've done everything as on the video but when I press launch on xemu it starts then immediately stops, I know it's the HDD drive part because I've launched it without it and it played the xbox startup animation

I did everything right but xemu isn’t wanting to load anymore & nor do my iso’s/roms want to boot up
After I installed xemu and loaded the correct files into place xemu won’t open. It just looks like it’s opening and then immediately closes. Any ideas?
can you help i used all the paths and followed all of the steam rom manager instructions but when i try to start a game from game mode to goes to load and instantly closes. the emu did the same thing from desktop mode even after i had the files set in the emu. do the files have to be in completely separate specifically named folders to function right?

Hey, someone who is completely lost on lunix here. I tried to download Conker's Bad Fur Day, live and reloaded for xemu. I tried to download a .iso but it gave me a .7z, I tried extracting it, but it gave me a folder, the folder has a dvddata which seems to have the game files in it, a media folder, and a default.xbe file. Please help.
I solved the issue, the problem was I was installing it and trying to extract it on the steam deck, doing it on Windows and then transferring it over using Dropbox made it a lot easier.

Did everything exactly as described in your tutorial & despite the TEST also worked -- X-men Origins would not activate when pressing PLAY. So I went to XEMU emulator & after it opened it says, "Please insert an xbox disc". So I select LOAD DISC which then shows my ISO file of "X-Men Origins- Wolverine" and despite selecting it, nothing happens. Based on one of the comments, I would've expected it to run, but to no avail! Any thoughts??? P.S. I am able to run this game using Windows 10 on my Steam Deck but unfortunately does not permit me to play on a big-screen TV. Nonetheless, all was not in vain since it gave my "Brain-Meat" some exercise, 😁😁😁

Sadly, I was not able to get it working. When I Parse the first set it tells me that there are no users AND that one user was found.
Then it asked me to close steam which wasn't running.
Any tips for me?
Edit: Well I fixed that issue. But now It shows up in steam, but it crashes as soon as it starts. Yay lol
I keep getting an error saying "Please insert Xbox disk." I've tried launching a handful of games in standard mode and Desktop. I've also tried Loading Disk manually but no change. Anyone else encounter something similar?

I finally found a good use for my 2tb ssd I installed on my steam deck 😅
I was able to have all my emulators downloaded at once with Emudeck. Idk if the flatpak version is that version or not.
The two games I want to play that are ONLY on Xbox, Azurik and Otogi. Azurik plays smoothly during the tutorial stage but once you get past that it runs below 20 fps :( Otogi won’t even load. I own them physically but would of been nice to play on the Steam Deck.

Can we also do this thru EmuDeck or do we need to download Xemu as a separate emulator?
I would avoid Emudeck…it only uses flatpaks which can be out of date or behind in versions compared to website downloads

@@SheepTacoMan the ease of access provided by emudeck far outweighs any perceived negative about flatpacks being out of date. emudeck has very frequent updates, nothing is very stale.
Its not emudeck updates...its flatpaks being out of date. This causes games to run worse as they are not the current version

I must have done something wrong because after this setup (It worked before I changed the configs in steam rom manager) Xemu crashes on launch when i select a game on steam. It also crashes when I try to start xemu by itself now also unlike before.
I was able to get mine to work but I stopped using my steam deck for a few days and when I jumped back on xemu all my games were gone and when I did all the steps again I couldn’t see my SD chip where I have all the games. It’s so frustrating because it happened before and I got it working again but I forgot how to I did it
@@mosessierra9076 your sd may have been corrupted or a counterfeit.
For some reason the game doesn’t but up was I can see it on the steam library

I don't know if you return to comments but I am so lost. I have everything right, my games run via xemu just fine but for some reason after adding them with steam rom manager I can't launch them in steam....

@@ttedsy nope, I have however managed to get another game working. So I think it might be corrupt xiso as I can only download from what’s available out there which given that the game isn’t mega popular there aren’t many versions. I don’t have a PC, only steamdeck and as far as I can see you need a PC to redump/extract xiso yourself. Sad times

It's hidden. Type in /.steam at the bottom and it should pop up.
