Bought this bike in August 2016. Drove it all the way back to Maine with no problems. Bike ran great. Made some changes like replacing large windshield with a stock one. Pulled back the handle bars which were set too high for my liking. This is my second Valk. First one was a stripped down with 6 into 6 pipes. Honda's a notorious for second gear chatter.
Decided to go with a quieter ride. He does talk a lot of foolishness in this video. Price was right and he treated me fairly. Would buy another off him.

@@smwrbd Around $6000.00 well worth it. Previous owner had a lot of accessories added. Center stand is the best add on. These bikes should have come with one as a standard feature.
I have 2 Valkyries. A 99 Interstate like this one and a 01 Standard. I love them both.
I have a 2000 touring model red and black. Absolutely love this bike. I'm a Goldwing Rider I've owned three gold wings before this. This was on my bucket list. I wish mine was the interstate like this with the fairing in the rear trunk. But they're getting hard to find

Depends upon what ya want, I don't believe it has ABS Brakes does it? but all my BMW's, including my oldest, a 98, does.. so I can't give it that from my viewpoint, your not crap without decent braking system. it's a kill machine, nice if you never needs brakes in a hurry maybe..lol

@@rocketman9425 that's a partial misstatement. yes, the valks didn't have abs. yes, abs can be nice to have on a big bike. but a kill machine? seriously? the brakes on the valk might not be super sport brakes, but they get the job done. back before abs was a thing, people had to learn to modulate the front and rear brake effectively in a bad situation. it's a learned skill, that you have to practice. if you're limiting yourself to only bikes that have abs, you're missing out on quite alot. there are tons of cool bikes out there without it. bmw makes some really cool bikes. but they aren't the only one.

Picked up a '99 valkyrie 2 days ago. A little bit of rough idle till it warms up. Hopefully putting some miles on it will clear that up. 36k miles on it. Paid $4500. Hopefully got a good deal. It looks brand new.
This bike had the center fairing vent 18 years before HD.

I have a 2000 Valkyrie. Power to spare. Had a 1998 Goldwing and this Valkyrie would walk on all day long. sold the wing, bought a 2011 Victory, My Valkyrie would beat this one too. Unstoppable Valkyrie.And yes this guy on the video sucks

and the price is awesome, in my country you are lucky if you pay double of this price.

there are not hard to find.Lot of them around 20-50k miles and old owners can't push the heavy weight around anymore.Love love these bikes my next purchase. Here NE lots of them for sale.The only concern or maybe I should not be concern is loud clunky gearbox...or is this just this bike in video...
It's the way he down shifts, if you wait until the bike gets slower to down shift it's much quieter.
However it does have some really hefty gears in the tranny to handle the torque plus the gear spacing is wider than say a sports bike so these things make it a little clunky.
once you own and learn how to shift it, it's pretty quiet. Also when you are recording from anywhere behind the windshield shift noises are amplified so is the straight cut gear whine..
Every Honda I have owned had a clunky sounding second gear.
The Valkyrie transmission has square cut gears...noisy by design. It takes a firm shift from 1st to 2nd gear and a little practice to get used to the bikes operation.

I am 63 and currently looking to buy a 97 to 2003 standard have wanted one. Since I was 43 Lol. Just finally at a place in my life that I'm able to make it happen have had many bikes through out my life but this one is the one I've yet to possess. That is about to change
