After a tough battle against Okubo resulting in victory, Kanoh is visited by Waka, who shows him respect. Then Ohma appears and acts disrespectfully towards Kanoh. Ohma fails to grasp the seriousness of the situation and the power disparity. Despite Kazuo's and Niko's attempts to explain and calm him down, Ohma attacks Kanoh. Kanoh retaliates with a powerful kick, slamming Ohma into the wall unconscious. Kanoh points out his weaknesses, leaving Ohma bloodied on the ground.

Ohma relied too much on Advance. Ghost Niko kept trying to tell him that. He used Advance so much it messed his memory.

It wasn’t even the advance that made him forget Niko techniques it was a technique that stopped his advanced rampage and close to the end of round 2 Ohma got his memory back

Ohma is actually weak because he lacks experience. Although he has some smartness against his opponents, he has the bad habit to count on his advance level, risking his life. When he died, even if he had improved a lot, he had no chance against Gensaï and I'm not sure he could beat Agito in his final form.

The fact is, actually ohma is very strong from the start. Unfortunately, somehow, his "memory" was screwed (by using advance too much?). So basically ohma first entering kengan with almost shutted memory condition that makes his ability only a few percents of his max, along the time he gain pieces of his memory until the end is when he fought gensai. Unfortunately, by that time his body is badly wounded since he fought great fighters with his limited ability, and take the serious effect of advance. So basically what kuroki fought on final was dying ohma.
