The timing of this video is terrific! I was looking for your previous video on a third party macro lens and was so excited to see this one. The feature set of this lens is almost too good to be true but you’ve never given me reason to be suspicious of your product overviews. At the price point compared to the cost of a first party lens, it’s worth the experiment. I used your affiliate (?) link. Many thanks!
great review, Ive got the 50mm tilt lens they do and I love it, but I want a macro lens and the way you explained the tilt mechanism in relation to macro makes perfect sense
check out the laowa 85mm f/5.6; macro photography doesn't need big apertures and this lens is significantly lighter and smaller than the competition, which lends it to being a really good choice imo
Dude your incredible; I love the work you put behind putting this video out! I was looking at the sig 105 but fuck I might have to shift lanes! But man hell of a job! Very details and insightful! Mastermind! Appreciate your knowledge and understanding for others!
Good video, good points, thanks. Annoyingly they may have stopped making this lens because it was unavailable in all mounts, when I checked recently...
Looks like this is a Full Frame RF lens, will I have any trouble using with my R7? Harder to get the insect in frame I would guess, crop causes to be zoomed in even more?
Yes, it might be harder. I have a cheaper 60mm 2x macro for APS-C I will be testing soon. I would like to give you more specific advice, but I'm so new to macro. Check out this channel for more expert advice, he knows his stuff - www.youtube.com/@MicaelWidell
@@markwiemels Thanks, funny thing I was just at his channel having a look. :) Seems to be hard to find Macro, 2x, tilt-shift. I'll keep watching. Macro is the next lens I want to get and then something very wide. Thanks again for the response!
Hi Mark, Sorry I am just a beginner in Digital camera still learning about different lens mounts, could you please advise if this lens fits on Canon EOS 250 D camera? Or is there a budget macro lens for 250D?
Why are Pentax shooters always left out? As far as tilt goes, field and view camera users understand well how focusing closer means moving the lens farther away from the focal plane. And in macro, your depth of field is super short. if your subject is not perfectly flat to you, you're going to see the closer or farther areas of the subject fall outside the focal range. So you want to move PART of your lens farther away to focus on a closer PART of your subject, and the farther portion of your subject to be closer to the sensor plane. Tilting does just this. It's not because you're getting the lens at a right angle to your subject.

I think it will be very hard to beat this lens for the price. I was extremely impressed with the results, and I'm not even good at macro photography.

I have this lens. You are absolutely correct. A 2X macro that I can always bring with me in my pocket, Nice lens

The canon link is broken and other links lead to a variety of lenses. Can you please id the lens here as make and model ? Thanks.
Really nicely explained, thankyou so much ! p.s. just had a quick look and looks like l mount is available also, so can use on my lumix s1.
I have a Canon 600D EF camera. Is this lens only available for RF mounts ?
There is a new, non-tilt version in EF mount, and it's excellent.

The background looks 🔥 studio tour?
Thanks. I was visiting my parents, and i's a storage area in their basement, with some colored pocket lights! I thought it looked cool too.
@@markwiemels I thought you'd retreated back into your old studio. Nice video.
Can you provide a link that is compatible with Panasonic lumx g7?
Can I get an adapter to use on a Canon EF?

No, but this is the same lens, without the tilt function, and it's great (you want the EF version) - geni.us/L5oaXTq or geni.us/aBaj3

Wish I could find one! Look to be sold out everywhere!
Bummer that it's not an EF-M lens. Still waiting for you to do a guide on macro photography.
I’m getting better at it, so coming soon. I’m testing a 2x macro lens now that does come on ef-m, so keep an eye out for that video.
is that video out yet?

I can't find it in Nikon F .
looks like its just nikon z.
They kinda discontinued this lens really fast
I’ve been searching online and the lowest price I can find is $419!
