I am laughing and smiling seeing this car. My dad had a Grey with a white top and wire wheels. I can remember him driving with me on his lap letting me steer. So many fond memories in this car. Seeing the details brings it all back. Great post!
Back in the early 2000's I had an '88 Park Avenue that had the same horn as this. Sounds much like the Cadillac horn. When you honked at someone, they definitely moved out of your way.
We still drive one of these every day, can't kill an olds 307 but you best change the timing chain & ditch the nylon gear. This one is beautiful, nice find.
I remember car shopping in '89 and my dad and I stopped at a dealer and they were showing me a Riv like this one. I loved it but the deal never came to fruition and I wound up buying a '84 Cutlass Sierra Holiday Coupe that I loved!! Though not as luxurious as the Riv.
My next door neighbor had one of these, in the same color! It had a white top and wire wheel covers though. It was nice too, but it was the eighties, he always had it in the garage to keep it nice. These had a 5.0 in them, way better than the Eldo with it's anemic 4.1.
My girlfriends dad had a 81 diesel, loved that car, diesel wasn’t a problem. My mom had Park Avenues . I’ve noticed something both 85 models on your channel didn’t have the electronic air / heat controls. My moms 80 and 84 had them, at the time I thought it was so cool. Was there a problem getting them or was it an option?
I had one of these with these same wheels in the 1980s. All cars in the 80s had their problems as computers were starting to take over everything to try and meet emissions. When this body was introduced in 1979 you could get a 350 V8 with a turbocharger. That option was for '79 only as I recall.
My 85 white red leather looks way different inside and out? My friend had one too same color as mine.Rims where way different? Mine had 4 ashtrays and 4 lighters.
I love this channel so much...I can't stop watching!
Thank you for watching!
One of the most beautiful cars Buick ever made! Instant classic! And this one is so sweet!

I just purchased a 1984 model exactly like this one with 40k miles on it
Man, my heart skipped a beat seeing that beauty! Have loved that design of Rivera since it came out. A true American personal luxury car!
The splendor of the work is beautiful and elegant luxury salutes the American automotive industry
Would have been glad to purchase one of these Rivieras back in 85.
Definitely the cleanest '80s Riv I've seen.

The last great American luxury coupe before they chop them up in 86!

My dad had one. I miss that car. Every Saturday morning he'd wash that car... whether it left the garage or not. That was his baby.
Beautiful Elegant Glory Creates Pleasure for the Eyes
I lusted for this car back in '85, but never bought one. Aaargh!
Same with me.
Gorgeous ride. I wanted a Mark IV Lincoln Continental but this seems more manageable do to it being shorter. For 20k seems like a great deal.

What’s the lowest priced vehicle you have that is an automatic transmission
This Rivi is out lowest priced car in our inventory.
One of the few times GM did it right
Those were great cars. In 1986 they downsized and ruined the looks.
I had an 83, Black & Grey
Nice :)
Had 85 Eldorado (same thing) wish i appreciated these cars more at the time...but who knew the future would turn out such shitty plastic cars
Thumbs Up.
