- Do you doubt my land vision for this Under-rated Missouri farm? That's OK! I totally get it, as many have often questioned my methodologies, techniques and land investments! But if you give me the chance to lay it all out, and follow along with each episode and land improvement I think that in the end you will see that I have a very clear vision for this property and that utlimately I will turn this beautiful Missouri farm into a deer mecca and wildlife mecca as well!
575 aces of remote Ozark's Mountain Missouri property! Sounds beautiful right? Well it is, but it has been a bit neglected and has so much untapped potential for land improvements, increased land value improvements and increase wildlife habitat improvements. Join us for a near live update on DAY 5 of the new land clearing and wildlife habit improvement projects as we kick off a very indepth (9) new wildlife clearing project deep in the Ozark's mountains. The 9 new wildlife clearings/openings will total over 13 acres of land, mostly ridgetops with decent soil for either A) Natural forest floor successional growth regeneration that will provide an abundance of food and new cover for all wildlife, or B) planting of new wildlife food plots, which would also create a brand new food source for all vegetative eating wildlife, which will in turn benefit the entire wildlife ecosystem and will improve the property overall. If you enjoy the near live episodes please let us know in the comments as we are constantly striving to bring fresh and new content, and very up to date project updates. If only drilling a well was cheaper to get some irrigation going when it’s so dry.
no doubt. But I will be making large watering ponds next to each one with the backup up plan of being able to water the plots during a drought-good idea!
Very cool hope to see them growing soon ! Gotta have some roots in the ground ! It’s going to be a full time job just keeping them maintained!
yes but its a labor of love! We so enjoy being in the outdoors, in the woods and making positive changes for the land and wildlife! I don't think I'd have it any other way. Thanks
Will they be doing any swails on the plots or any water features?
I will be adding wildlife ponds to the plots. But since we maxed out the cost share I wasnt' going to pay to have them do them when I can do them.
I was wondering if you could leave a few strategically placed mature trees in the plots, but I didn't say anything. I thought it might be a big no no, but I find it esthetically pleasing. You might need a shady spot to eat a sammich or something!
Well its a grey area.. When he inpects we'll find out. He said a few will be ok so we'll see. But I think it will be good this way. And I agree with you, love some big trees in my plots! But they do drain water!! lol
Looking Fantastic! I left a few trees in my plot, I took them out after 3 years. you will always be picking limbs up, kind of a pain to plant around ,and the crops around the trees suffer.
You guys are getting so much done in lightning speed. The place looks great.
Life is short and every single day matters. At least that's the way we see things. I could have lost my leg and much worse with my severe blood clotting episodes so I am grateful that I stll CAN do some work. Thanks!
What do you charge for a trip up to hunt for a weekend this fall?
getting it done Kapper, looking good
Why not run the drag right when you plant?
Because I like to not have the drag on when trying to get a good seed dispersal, and sometimes the ATV or UTV will bog down a little on a turn or uphill which would affect the seeding rate. Just the way I like to get uniform seeding.
More good progress, great to get it planted while it's still dry, or it could get pretty muddy once the loose soil gets wet. Neat plan to have the latest plot hidden from the trail.
Thank you. The big rain missed us so far!! Darn! But eventually we'll get some rain on them!
Interesting video 👍 the cleared fields look really good 👌 hopefully you get some rain kick start the germination 👍
I hope so too! So far we've had 2 days of rain here, like literally 5 miles away but not a lick hit us!! Ugghhh.. But at some point it has to happen!! Thanks
Looks like your tooling around on the moon in the moon buggy.
no doubt! But I don't think there was this much dust on the moon walk, lol
You might should have had that Dozer operator use his rippers all over that new plot area for sub soiling purposes...break up the old hard pan there.
Well I have a ripper if I need it next year. But there was plenty of loose dirt to grow a nice stand of wheat, and maybe even some brassicas yet depending on the weather. But this was a huge success, now we just need some rain!! Thanks
@@KapperOutdoors2.0 I'm looking forward to your videos when they begin to grow.
Planted just in time for the rain we got coming
So far the last 2 days of rain missed us!! Phil got a bunch but we are still bone dry!! Come on Mother nature! A little help here..
