    I'm glad you left the baby talking/crying in there. I heard a phrase in regards to babies in churches one time that stuck with me: "A church without crying, is a church that is dying." We have to pass it on to the next generation. Great compilation as always.

      @@bethgarvin3855 Oh my gosh I never thought of that. Thank you for this comment! It is going to help me so much the next time I find myself getting irritated at a loud cry. I shouldn’t be irritated at the newest members of our church! Bless you!

      The pastor of my old church used to say the same thing about kids. The church had been in a state of steady decline for decades, and it had been years since there had been any babies crying in that building. Hearing children crying was a turning point in the church's recovery.

    • @wolfman7284
      @wolfman7284 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@heiditaylor6206 So I don't mislead anyone on accident. There is a difference between a baby being left to cry and cry and distracting from the sermon. But people should not get annoyed at a baby being heard when the mother or father is trying to take care of him/her. If the baby can't be quieted, then they can move to a care area, hallway, etc. But if you don't hear that crying, you have a generation missing in the church.

    What I love most is the encouragement of "child like faith" and enthusiasm in this medley. Singing these songs in youth is something fun and joyful. Now as a 40 year old, when I hear some of these songs especially Jesus Loves Me, I can't help but tear up knowing exactly what they mean. Unconditional love and forgiveness. And not just that, there's a purity and innocence within the songs that just feels good! God bless ❤✝️🕊🙏

    I’ve been to Sunday school, and I’ve only heard a fraction of these! Some of them, like the C-H-R-I-S-T-I-A-N song, I sang at Bible-based summer camps. I may be biased towards the original style, so Jesus Loves Me or The Lord's Army might be my favorite arrangements, but that might also be because I heard them in the clips that you released. Great job, and God bless your ministry! Keep it up! Also, I know you can’t really tell us what the oldest song is, but I kind of wonder which one is the newest one, since you said in your email that most if not all of these songs pre-date 1971.

    This is amazing!! You did an amazing job with the transitions, and I so enjoyed hearing all these songs that I grew up singing :). (Also the children holding up the song titles were a great touch).

    Oh boy do these songs bring back memories of Sunday School and chapel at the Christian school I went to. I'm pretty sure I learned how to spell Christian correctly because of that song.

    Thank you so much for this medley. It was especially fun to watch the children as you sang... you've certainly got a lovely set of children there! It's good to know that they are surrounded by meaningful music and hope that they may all one day have these songs in their own hearts. God's blessings be upon you!

    Knew all of them even though I live in New Zealand so obviously they all trickle eventually across the Pacific. Question.. when researching were you able to find out what decade Christian songs specifically began to be written for children?

    • @DavidWesley
      @DavidWesley  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don’t think that happened in one particular decade. I’m pretty sure children’s songs have been around since the dawn of language itself!

    Ha! Looks like Baby Oren is still singing and clapping happily to the songs! Love, love, love this!!💓💖. Love the kids dancing and smiling, such a treat! Love your goofy voices & expressions! Will have to watch this over about 20x more. Never heard of some of these songs, like Father Abraham. Anyways, thanks for all your dedication and hard work (looks easy & fun to us viewers). GOD bless you, David, and all your little sign holders. GOD bless the USA, & GOD bless Israel. "Pray for the peace of Jerusalem, may they prosper, that love her." Ps 122:6. Tisha B'Av after sundown til tomorrow at sundown. 💔. I will be praying and fasting for His glory to fill the 3rd temple. Ps:. Hey, isn't that "Pharoh, Pharoh" song Bully, Bully!??

    Thanks so much Brother David for your creativity and God-given talents. I was up early and saw your notification 🌄😊 So, of course I wanted to play the new video which I have been anticipating. And my 57y.o. self had a BLAST ⚡☀️ singing along with the songs that I knew!🎤🎶🎵🙋 Then just listening 🎧 to the ones that I don't know. I enjoyed seeing your family children holding up the names of the songs, your Baby Boy had me laughing about what he did with the sign/poster 😆😆😆 Overall a GREAT experience for Sabbath Morning 🌄

    Nice love it! I know all of them surprisingly. Such nostalgia. Also, I didn’t know a lot of the songs had unknown artists. I kinda think of these songs as pass me down songs as I learned them from my parents/grandparents/Sunday school teachers. I now teach them to my kids and they love it! I’m 32 btw 😅
