I went to the falling in reverse / papa roach concert a couple months ago when they were doing their rockzilla tour. The lead singer of papa roach actually got very real between songs, talking about depression, how good it is to be alive, and dedicating songs to people going through hard times. There's a ton of emotion and energy when they're on stage, that gets lost with the aggressive style recording of this song.
So after touring with them, I can see why Ronnie would get inspired and think of doing the song this way.

Falling In Reverse gave us the adult resignation of knowing where and who to turn to, but being too afraid (having gone on for so long with this feeling) to turn to anyone. Feeling trapped with these feelings of depression and anxiety, wanting to fall apart and get help, but telling yourself to put yourself back together (as you can see in the video with the buildings falling apart then reversing at the end) just to go through it all again the next day.

I think we are witnessing a new form of music right now, you see artist like Ren, Ronnie and NF, even Eminem making these inner battle songs. They take the depression, anger, fear and then towards the end turn it into hope, pride and power! It's a wonderful mix and I am fuhking here for it. Obviously these hit hard for many people, myself included. When I was watching the crumbling of the buildings, the symbolism is powerful. It's like when my world felt like it was crumbling then it stopped and you you rebuild it! It's just powerful, the aggressive power is the key. No longer do I feel as depressed, I feel more fuhking angry, at myself mainly for allowing this to progress and beat me down for so long. Anyways great reaction Knox, love your channel!

The greatest thing about music is that it's open to interpretation no matter what and everyone can interpret the same lyrics differently. In this case, the same song delivered differently can mean 2 completely different things. This song was written to convey a cry for help. Papa Roach performed it in a way that conveyed they were angry with their lives and didn't want it anymore. Radke delivers it as a beaten human to is desperate for a reason to live. Music is the only language that is universally understood no matter where you live or who you are.

I ain't even gonna lie, from the way it's composed, I felt stuff welling up. I lost my mother when I was young, so when I heard the original version a long time ago, it resonated deeply, and I felt alot of those feelings, and this captures the feeling so crazily. Well fucking done.

A few things. First, Knox, my man, the first video of yours I saw was your break down of Popular Monster and I loved your examination of that song. Love your work, man.
Second, I've found with Falling in Reverse when I hear the song first I get one thing from it, but then when I see the video I always find much greater depth and more layers than I had imagined existed in each and every song.
Third I saw someone say this in a post on another reaction video to this song:
Papa Roach: We were teenagers angry at the world.
Ronnie Radke: We're broken adults ground down by the world.
I've been listening to this song for a bit, love both versions but yes, the roach's version is very much angry and angsty. Ronnie's version is desperate, driven to the edge, teetering over the abyss. But something with the video, to me the way everything rebuilds at the end with 'wish somebody would tell me I'm fine' and even though he's still saying nothing is fine the rebuilding, the repairing seems to offer this sense of hope, this little glimmer of light in the darkness. Maybe that's just me, but the video gives me a much more hopeful feeling than just listening to the song on its own.
HAHA i just heard you say the same thing about hope and rising up as I was typing this comment.

I suffer from an anxiety disorder, major depressive disorder and PTSD. I was raped at 15, and assaulted. I’m 23 now, and I’m much better now, but this song makes me cry it makes me think of how hard I had it. I isolated myself for 3 months, slept for over 13 hours a day. I’m finally medicated now. I still struggle sometimes, but this song just made me remember how much pain I was in.

Knox, you always say you read all the comments, so I hope you see this one.
I desperately needed to hear the words of encouragement and that I am not the burden that I fear I am. Thank you for actually speaking from the heart and not just going through the motions. You have no idea how badly I needed this today, so thank you. Sincerely, thank you.

It’s insane what Ronnie does. How he can express emotion through this vocals is on another level. At the end you can almost hear him gritting his teeth out of sadness. The statues crying is so symbolic and everything crumbling around him…this is a true masterpiece.

I appreciate the talent, and also, your reaction video provide some much more detail into why things are so impressive that those reactions are impressive. Thank you. Also, this version of LR by FIR made me shed a tear and I am a 47 year old military veteran. They crushed it! Ronnie impresses me more and more with every song.

I get to see them live next week, I’ve been seeing them for nearly a decade and hearing Ronnie’s voice age like fine wine has been such a pleasure. Id love to hear this on the set list!
Major thing I noticed was in Watch the World Burn it ends with panning out to a burning earth. In this the world becomes whole and stops burning.

3:40 I thought the same exact thing I remember rocking to this like an anthem when the original was released. I clearly wasn't paying attention to the verses at all in the original song. It's pretty stunning.

The original is such a great song and an alltime classic, but I really enjoyed this cover as well. Puts the lyrics in a more prominent place and helps them to shine even brighter, just kinda proves how although the original is commonly known as a banger the lyrics themselves are seriously underrated

Goosebumps...... just.... goosebumps...... And quite a few tears.... 😭
The original song, came out at a godsend moment for me. I was dealing with a relapse (for lack of a better term to use) of a medical issue in my late teens that had my lungs randomly collapsing. Was in a really dark place due to the constant collapses + scars from surgeries..... the Original is what kept me from staying down and clawed my way back out of that pit.
THIS is how i felt when i heard the original.. THIS is what i was hearing when i heard that original song... its what gave me the courage to not back down and give up.
Yes i was 'head-banging' to the origional (i even do the same to this version, just at a more sedated pace), but the feelings THIS song give.. are what i was dealing with at that moment...
