I've been considering buying the unbrush (or a similar dupe) strictly because of the open vent design. I have to say that I dislike most paddle brushes because I detangle my hair with conditioner, and I've found it a pain to get the paddle brush completely clean. Specifically the inside because that little drainage hole lets water and product in but I'm never 100% certain that I've gotten it all out. Perhaps I'm paranoid, but I always feel like there are remnants of conditioner in there festering and that's just gross to me. I do like the size of the unbrush because I don't have big hands and I find most paddle brushes too big/awkward for my liking. I also detangle small sections at a time. I wish I could find an open vent brush with sturdier construction, I think that would be the perfect option for me.
I understand that. Letting them soak in soapy water might help pull out any product. It is annoying squeezing it all the excess liquid trapped in the brush. They need more than that lil tiny hole. All they got to do is put a drain hole near the corner of the brush or something
@@AfrikanHairGod Thank you! I will definitely try soaking in soapy water. You're absolutely right about needing a drain hole in the corner. Maybe I should just try to do that myself with a small knitting needle or something. I hadn't even thought about trying to alter it.

Hey! I’m a professional stylist as well! I love the Denman d38 as well. I use it to blow dry or my Olivia garden ion brush. I use the unbrush at the shampoo bowl to pre detangle. It is very gentle so for some clients with thicker hair I switch back to my h2pro red detangling brush. It’s more sturdy.

I have this brush! I loved it so much I bought 4 of them and gave them away to my mom and my daughters! This brush is the bomb and I used it in the same way you are using it. It made my detangling SO MUCH EASIER. I ordered it through Janeke. That is a company in Italy and they call it the Superbrush but I promise you it is the exact same brush. IT IS THE TRUTH!!!!!!
Here! I want to see your opinion. I love mine for detangling! It being light is a plus for me. I like your perspective as a stylist because tools have to be ergonomic in addition to being effective for your varying clients. It is so sad you had to do a disclaimer, Narada! I want to try the D38 too.
I got the unbrushed a week ago. I ordered it by mistake and it was the best mistake I ever made after detangling my hair with it. I went in with my tangled teaser and I didn’t even need a tangled teaser. Tangled my hair perfectly love it.
The disclaimer in the beginning took me all the way out 🤣 After he said all that it was like, well damn...now I absolutely have to stay & watch this video!!! I'm a first time viewer of his & this will not be my last time. I love the blunt, direct delivery & the profanity/vulgarity is just a cherry on top. I personally feel like he's honest & real. I'm tired of watching all those fake ass, glossed up videos. The realness is refreshing! 👌🏾😊
I think my beautician uses a denman and it rips my hair out. I brought the unbrush last time and detangling was so seamless that she wanted to buy it. I have fine hair that breaks easily and I’m told I’m tender headed.
Thank you for the disclaimer! I'm appreciative of the warning of explicit language vs being shocked midway through the video. I like your content and will continue to watch until it gets too rough. ❤
Love the review! I bought mine on sale for less than $10 and when I tell you that “unbrush” glided through my hair like butta!! I bought one for all my kids 😂
I absolutely love your channel. I recently picked out my Sisterlocks after being locked for 12 years. I did a big chop and got my locs shortly thereafter. Needless to say, I have no idea how to love my loose hair. I find your delivery entertaining and I love listening to you. Anyhoo...I have the Unbrush and I liked it. But I'm still learning...lol. Thanks for all you do for the natural hair community.
Thanks for your insight for the Unbrush review! I can see the difference between the Unbrush and the Demin D38 brush. My personal vote would be Demin D38 brush since my texture is more so like the clients hair
The fact that I came to TH-cam to see about the other detangling brush that you recommended and you have a video about the unbrush, which is my second option, is crazy!!
i've had the unbrush for a while now and i've used it on wet hair, used it while blow drying, and on dry hair that has been styled in a silk press or blow out and for me personally I only like using the unbrush on my hair when it's blow dried in a blow out or when i have a silk press. The only thing that really stood out to me when using the unbrush is how easy it is for me to wrap my hair when i have a silk press... like that's it lol. it takes seconds to a minute and the hair just stays in place without me having to keep brushing it over and over with a paddle brush to wrap it. It's not bad when it comes blow drying but it's definitely far from the best and the handle is too short to use when blow drying. I had to reposition my hand several times so i won't burn my thumb then eventually i just picked up my round brush to finish it but it is heat resistant.
I recently bought the Unbrush and it took about three weeks for it to get here. I have not used it yet so watching your review before I actually use it is perfect timing since I’ve only had it about 12 hours now. BTW your disclaimer is everything.
Beautiful head of hair 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 I’m here for the disclaimer. Period! Someone commented “your word is your bond”. That’s a top tier compliment, so profound. One you should be proud of. Continue walking in your truth. Thanks for the review. 🥰
Sucks you need to do a disclaimer. I don't get why people get so uptight about your opinion on these reviews! Great video, as always. I know you don't care to do these videos, but I still really appreciate it. You really don't owe us anything. You are right, I definitely learned to brush vertically from you. Thanks for always sharing your knowledge and propelling us in the Tribe 😊
Thank you for doing this review. I have the UnBrush & I do like it. I feel like it gently detangles my fine type 4 hair. I might have to get the D38 and that's it! No more tools for me. 🙅🏽♀️
I think your review was very fair. I really like the Unbrush and agree with the points you made. I find it very thorough when I’m detangling in the shower. When I’m using it outside of that context I usually have to follow it up with another brush to make sure it’s thoroughly detangled. It seems like the wetter the hair is the better it performs and I like that it’s always gentle. I’ll add that a benefit of it being so light is that ppl I know who are heavy handed are forced to be more gentle 😅.
@AfrikanHairGod is it a healthier practice to detangle damp hair rather than wet hair in the shower? Does this reduce breakage when detangling? I’d love if you can discuss in one of your detangling videos 💕
I love the unbrush I have the same type of hair as this client you are doing and my detangling process with this brush took only 30 minutes vs 1hr with other brushes I have used. Yes it did take a long time to get and I ordered it on Walmart online and Walmart issued a refund after I got the brush
I just got the unbrush after my brother had one and I was detangling his hair with it. I love it when I used it last week for the first time and I’ll definitely try the denman D38. I have tried other brushes before and never worked for my fine strands medium dense hair. Thanks for your input in the video, i thoroughly enjoyed it.
Thanks so much for this. The way you effortlessly detangle is amazing. I use the unbrush because it's so gentle, then go in with a comb. I used your link to purchase a few things including the denman. Also i will stop detangling in the shower. I feel like I lose too much hair. Experimentation time. 😅 Thanks again for your content.
I recently purchased the Unbrush after seeing Bianca Renee using it. My texture is similar to hers. I absolutely hate detangling but I really appreciate your thoughts. The Denman one you used looks nice too.
His hair is beautiful. It’s similar to mine so thank you for doing this review. I often see other textures so hard to gauge how it does on 4C ish hair.
I find the Denman heavy. However . . . I love the Denman. I totally agree with your review regarding the Unbrush. I do enjoy using the Unbrush because it’s lighter in weight.
Funny thing Sally's Beauty used to sell that brush. It was by Unplugged. It was actually a blowdry brush but for naturals it detangled like a dream. All of my girls are 4c. We loved it. No hair snagging or anything. The drawback was that the framing around the brush was weak. It would crack easily.
Narada, I love your reviews! Watching you work with this client's hair was a nice ASMR experience. He has a beautiful head of hair and he has the best person to care for it - YOU. ❤ TFS! 😘
Over a year since I cut my dreads, still getting use to hair tools again. I feel like they just cause more breakage 🤔. 4 1/2 inches long so far so I can get a way with just using an afro pic on my roots and finger detangling the rest. Great video, his hair is so lush, Im drooling!!
I love my Unbrush Brush and Hercules Sagemann Magic Star Wide Tooth Comb! And my Tangle Teezer! Can’t be without these for my tender headed waist length hair! I never liked the Denman brushes. Bristles are too stiff.
The unbrush just seems like one of the many knockoffs of the flexibrush tbh. Brushes aren’t one size fits all so I’m glad it works for some ppl. I was super curious about your opinion on it and I’m glad it wasn’t terrible
I had the “unbrush” years before it was called this🤣 I used it a couple times but those teeth are not sturdy enough long term and I end up using a denman anyway
You really see how unstable the mind is in comments on social media lol. Speaking from a psychological standpoint and I’m not even a psychologist 😅 I love your work! 🎉
Great review! I purchased the Unbrush just to see what it would do. I knew it wasnt gonna glide through my hair with ease like in the videos but i gave it a try. I would say i would've liked a longer handle for a better grip. It did do a good job detangling my hair when used vertically. I have the same texture as the client in the video but half that density. I'm so jealous 😅 If you're still on the hunt for a good detangler give it a try. If you already have something you like I'd say skip it and stick with your current brush. This brush might also be a solution for kids who don't like getting their hair brushed or tender headed.
Got the brush off TikTok in 4 days and I like it for my hair and my kids it works great with curly hair! And I only paid 5 bucks and it’s the real deal
I bought my “hollow brush” from TEMU for less than 3 dollars. I just couldn’t see myself spending $18 on a brush I wasn’t sure I’d like. Ofc it’s a knock off so it doesn’t have the same bristles but it’s still very effective. I thought it was lightweight and had a cheap plastic-y feel but again I only paid $3 for it. It works well enough for me but it works better for my daughter’s type 3 curly hair. I do sometimes use a wide-tooth comb to detangle first then I go in with the [unbrush]. Thank you Narada for doing this review. And yes I also learned to comb/brush vertically first from you as well ☺️ thank you so much for all your great content
Appreciate the review cause I been waiting 2 weeks for this brush. I’m hoping it’s a godsend cause my hair has felt impossible to deal with since moving to Japan. If it don’t beat out the tools I already have, sending it right back.
Great review. Although this review is for the Unbrush, you might have actually sold me on the Denman D38. Might buy both to see which one my hair likes. I am very grateful you're doing this review on a client with tightly coiled hair, as I have basically the same texture of his.
Narada, have you ever thought about doing a hair tour to major cities? I live in the Charlotte, NC area and can't travel out of town due to my responsibilities of a disabled person. I know there are others like myself who would love to partake in your services.
Lol @ disclaimer. I like the unbrush but I can see why some feel the opposite. It does feel cheap and the spaced out bristles won’t remove shed hair as thoroughly with each stroke as say the D38.
Hi there I when I saw you were reviewing this brush I had to watch. For the reason being that you will give an honest review. I bought a dupe from SHEIN. I have very think coily type 4a/b/c which detangled and left for 2 weeks. I do cover hair with satin scarves. So was not looking forward to to detangling my hair. So when received the dupe unbrush I tried it and it worked. My advice buy the dupe.
This is about to be a long comment. I recently got the denman D38 and woah! I was very impressed with how gentle it is, even on my sensitive crown area. I didn't have a headache and a sore scalp afterwards. That's always a win for me!! So, thank you for recommending the tool. The handle is also ergonomic, but I prefer to hold it by its head for better grip (small hands coated in product = zero grip. If anyone has suggestions, I'm open to hearing them). I was a little scared of the bristles being too stiff, but the rubber cushioning makes the brush have a lot of give when it encounters a tangle. Because its a thorough detangling tool, it confirmed to me just where and how badly my hair had broken off (hard water damage). It reminds me of the client you had with the same and you mentioned you could see a line of demarcation from where the hair grew out after couple of months of her being in an area with softer water. Truly fascinating, but sad because damn, my hair really should have been thicker and healthier this whole time. At least I can see its growing back🥲🥲 Based on what you've said, I am tempted to try the unbrush, just to have a gentle detangle sesh' tool. Thanks for your review💜
You’re doing a great job handling your clients hair. The way I see hair glide through the Denman brush is the level of detangling I’m accustomed to. When I see 4c hair frizz up after detangling, that’s not the look I’m typically going for
Loveeeeee the disclaimer for these weird ppl😒. Thank you for the review. This brush is hot everywhere i look. Me personally, im fine with my tangle teaser. I woukd think that the unbrush wouldnt get all rangles out bc rhe bristles are close enough🤷 or has less than the denman or something like the tangle teaser. I just want to say i love his hair!!! Is this high density bc baby his hair is thick!!! I miss mine being a higher density bc after covid, my hair fell out really bad and to me, its low density now and i already have fine strands🙄
I got a dupe on tiktok (where I first saw the unbrush) for 99 cents, my first tiktok purchase! It doesn't seem magical to me nor particularly super detangling. I personally like it for wigs because I don't have any brushes with the balls on the bristles or ones that big so it's good for wigs where I don't need to make small sections.
oh wow all those disclaimers, woo chile! Thanks for the review! I just got the unbrush a week or so ago and I like it. I like how light it is and it was faster for me to detangle (in the shower) with it than anything else I've tried including my beloved D38. Unless my hair is super tangled, I find that the unbrush does detangle thoroughly but if it's really tangled up then gotta go in with the D38. And while the unbrush does detangle quickly and thoroughly for me, I prefer the D38 for making my coils pop. D38 is still no.1 for me but that unbrush is very nice.
He is just setting the record straight.Ya'll should figure out by yourself which brush works well on your hair. Many people testing out too much brushes and still aint satisfied. You gotta trust your own processes.
His hair texture and health is lovely🫶🏾 my hair tangles so easily I wonder if it’s not simply a moisture issue with my hair Or if this tool is a solution for me. This helped to see though
I got the knockoff version of the unbrush and my wash nights are much more quicker than using the wide tooth to dangle my hair. I never thought I would ever use a brush on my wet hair to Detangle . I am always afraid of my hair breaking off when I use a brush on my damp hair . To me it’s less breakage with my brush
His hair is not what I consider tangle......
It's not.... What's your point? It's evident that you didn't listen to the beginning of the video....

It made my detangling SO MUCH EASIER. I ordered it through Janeke. That is a company in Italy and they call it the Superbrush but I promise you it is the exact same brush. IT IS THE TRUTH!!!!!!
I brought that since in rush was sold out it is but I have to over it with a denman like brush
The denman 38 is supposedly very good but I don't plan on getting it because I don't need another brush. I absolutely LOVE my brush!@@lee2389
❤️🙏😇
I think my beautician uses a denman and it rips my hair out. I brought the unbrush last time and detangling was so seamless that she wanted to buy it. I have fine hair that breaks easily and I’m told I’m tender headed.
No no you can use a denman... They have plenty of brushes. You have to use this specific one. It's more thorough and gentle
Thank you for the disclaimer! I'm appreciative of the warning of explicit language vs being shocked midway through the video. I like your content and will continue to watch until it gets too rough. ❤
You're very welcome!
The unbrush work great for me and my hair super thick glides right through
Good morning my friend
Beautiful head of hair 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
I’m here for the disclaimer.
I didn’t immediately love the brush and somebody called me out of my name SO BAD. I’m like “over a brush??” People are crazy these days
@@cookiemonster8184 “these days” lol
Thank you for doing this review. I have the UnBrush & I do like it. I feel like it gently detangles my fine type 4 hair. I might have to get the D38 and that's it! No more tools for me. 🙅🏽♀️
The best part of this video was the disclaimer! You had me rolling! It's a damn review, people! Leave our African Hair God alone! 😂
My favorite brush hands down! Perfect for my fine strands.
He has discussed it in one of his old videos. It's called "how to easily detangle your natural hair"
@@iateyursandwiches Thank you ! :)
If I remember right, those brushes used to be inexpensive before certain stylists kept hyping them up.
It was it use to be 4 dollars at Sally’s beauty
I love the unbrush I have the same type of hair as this client you are doing and my detangling process with this brush took only 30 minutes vs 1hr with other brushes I have used. Yes it did take a long time to get and I ordered it on Walmart online and Walmart issued a refund after I got the brush
Everything after "It's not that deep y'all.." sold me on anything you have and will ever say! Love your honesty ❤
I just wanted to see how the brush works, you been yelling at me like my mom for four minutes! 🤣
I loved the way you detagled his hair. Seems like everyone I pay doesn't know how to comb my hair.
It’s the worst. Hairstylists don’t know I will come back and regularly if they did me right. They all comb my hair like they don’t care
This was a great and FAIR review! Nice, Narada ✨
He has beautiful hair and you did an awesome job grooming and moisturizing it.
Exactly. 👏💞👏😘
❤ TFS! 😘
Oh thank you!
"A review for a FCKG BRUSH"🤣😂He said what he said!!
Thanks for this review. My unbrush broke on week 2. 😢
I just bought this brush and I’m a little skeptical so I was excited to stumble upon your review.
14:25 I feel you. Personally I use a similar brush that costs about 13 bucks. I don’t understand why a cheap feeling brush would cost 20 bucks.
You really see how unstable the mind is in comments on social media lol. Speaking from a psychological standpoint and I’m not even a psychologist 😅
I love your work! 🎉
Waching your video at 3:32am Narada, good morning Sir and everyone have a pleasant day 🌞
Great review!
So glad you did a review. I knew i would get honesty
Your disclaimers were hilarious. My exact sentiments, including the F-bombs. Thanks for this review.
Thank you for sharing. I am very tender, headed an my hair has been ripped out. By other hair tools 4 years... I'm excited i'm gonna purchase both.😊😘
I’m tender headed and that Unbrush is life. I’m afraid not to use it! 😂😂😂😂
Thanks for reviewing all of these brushes for us.
Png never thought I would see you two in a video together! This is taking me back to the early TH-cam natural hair days!
I agree, the unbrush feels flimsy. It worked, but I have and have used much better detangling brushes imo.
Glad I could help
I love my unbrush! I use it in the shower to detangle or when my hair is matted and I need to unmatte it. Everyone can have differing opinions.
At least I can see its growing back🥲🥲
Based on what you've said, I am tempted to try the unbrush, just to have a gentle detangle sesh' tool. Thanks for your review💜
This video was utterly and completely hilarious and I'm dead on the disclaimer 💀😂😂
Thanks for the review. I just found the unbrush yesterday and was curious about people’s thoughts
His hair is healthy, beautiful, and thick
You’re doing a great job handling your clients hair. The way I see hair glide through the Denman brush is the level of detangling I’m accustomed to. When I see 4c hair frizz up after detangling, that’s not the look I’m typically going for
I’m so glad you did this review because I’ve been very curious about it. I’m going to stick with my Denman D38! 💯 Thank you for the video. 🥰
Glad I could help!
Yes i would consider his hair to be higher density
Let me tell you somethiiiiiiiing!!! I have so much respect for you. And I WILL make time to get to the salon and let you or Henny work y'all magic.
"It's a REVIEW...
for a FUCKING... BRUSH."
Hahaha hahaha yesssss 😆😆😆💕💕💕
He is just setting the record straight.Ya'll should figure out by yourself which brush works well on your hair. Many people testing out too much brushes and still aint satisfied. You gotta trust your own processes.
Loooove my D38!! I will say though, that brush is prone to having teeth fall into / out of it.
Yasss i been waiting on this review. Thanks for reviewing!
I trust the second brush you used. It looks stronger and like it actually get through all of the hair.
im cracking tf up! its a review as a fucking brush! yes! LOL
His hair texture and health is lovely🫶🏾 my hair tangles so easily I wonder if it’s not simply a moisture issue with my hair Or if this tool is a solution for me. This helped to see though
Wow, he’s got such lovely hair!
That disclaimer had me cackling and is the reason why l love your channel....keep up the good work
Finally a video that stroke that thang the way my hair is best detangled. It was ASMR for me. Thank you for this video
Yeah wide tooth combs don't work well for detangling in my experience. I only use brushes
