  • This shows you how to get to the Chatuchak Weekend Market by BTS Skytrain in Bangkok. You need to take the Sukhumvit Line to Mo Chit - It takes less than 15 minutes from the Siam station in the city centre and costs only 44 Baht. Once you have arrived at Mo Chit station, leave the station via Exit 1 and an entrance to the market is a 3 minutes walk away.
It should also be noted that the Chatuchak Weekend Market is also served by the Chatuchak Park station of the MRT Blue Line, so that may be worth taking as well.
Mo Chit is 7 stations away from Siam, so the train will pass through Ratchathewi, Phaya Thai, Victory Monument, Sanam Pao, Ari and Saphan Khwai along the way.

Did you buy anything from the market?

Yes, I did. I bought some towels, a few cheap coin purses, some room scents/fragrences, (whatever you call them) and some T-shirts.

      How much did these cost?
I guess it would be very cheap compared to getting them from reputable suppliers, hoping if they actually last long or/and aren't bootlegs of name brands!

@@ZHD1987E Now you are really testing my memory! The towels and coin purses are unbranded. I remembered paying something like ฿120 for 2 medium sized bath towels, and the coin purses look like they were hand made with elephant patterns on them. The 3 of them cost around ฿100 in total.
The room fragrances are of a homemade brand and I think I paid ฿390 for 3 large bottles. As for the T-shirts, I paid ฿100 for 2. When I got back to the hotel, a staff member saw them and laughed - She told me the phrase on one of the shirts is actually something very rude in Thai ("It looks pretty compared to a dog"). The second shirt is just 恭喜發財 in Thai, so that one is wearable in public. The name of the shop selling the T-shirts is printed on the shirt with the rude phrase, apparently that is also a swear word! I remember the shop has an Instagram account, so let me partially share the name, the account name is khee_s***k2, so go look them up yourself.

@@kylohk I heard night markets have started selling Cannabis in many forms, including in food. One Singaporean couple was caught by surprise as what they were eating contained cannabis (and it is *illegal* for Singaporeans to consume drugs overseas!). Luckily they were cleared of any criminal charges because they were unaware, but it does pay to be aware. Maybe try using Translation apps if you can...

@@ZHD1987E Now I am surprised, never knew that it is possible to break the law overseas. When I was in Chiang Mai, I did notice quite a few places that sell pot, so I will not be surprised that it will be added to food in some places.
When I was back in Hong Kong for Christmas, I regularly went to a coffee chain called Coffee Academics, and it is possible to have a few mg of CBD added to your coffee. Of course, the HK government has officially banned all CBD products last month so we will not be seeing any more of that!
