I have orange pomanders from my grandmother that are over 100 years old! There’s no orange left (the cloves are held together by magic) and they smell heavenly.
I was wondering if Laura's older Pomanders still smelled! And now I know they do even after 100 years! Amazing ...

Such a lovely time making memories with your Mum and children. My Mother passed away in June and seeing videos like this is so bitter sweet. Remembering our christmas craft days just like yours is precious but knowing they are no more is hard. I'd love to see a Christmas tree inside the cut flower garden Shed I think it will finish it off nicely!!!❤❤❤❤ I've been following you for a few years from across the pond in Wales UK and love everything you do!🥰

Samantha licking the oranges cracked me up!
I was asking my 87 yr old dad about Christmas from his childhood. He always mentions oranges. I asked if they were rare. He said well, they are most available at Christmas time. I never realized that and explains why they are always in fruit baskets and used for decorations.
Benjamin is such polite little fella . "Will you open the door for me" Aww love it .
His side profile makes him look a little older but when you glimpse a full on face shot I remember just how young he is! The memories these babies will have with all these films , so magical!

She's giving me my own memories, encouraging me to make & give my own pomanders to others. Benjamin always adds his own expertise & Samantha is a fast learner. Such fun! BTW, cloves can be bought in bulk on Amazon.

You inspired me! I used to do these when my kids were little and I didn’t have extra money for decorations. My girls and I are going to get together and have a evening of making these and having hot cocoa and tea. Kids will be helping also. Thank you.
I love how Samantha and Benjamin got into the decorating of the oranges and that grandma and yourself Laura took the time and patience to help teach them how to do it. A memory they will cherish when they are older and see these videos.

My 5th grade teacher had the class do these, but we didn't do designs, we covered the entire orange. I remember that more than anything about my grade school years. I'm 76 now and remember the oranges and cloves!
We did this also in 5th grade & its always been the best smell of fall & holiday's, I'm turning 66 on 12-21🌻✌

I have one from my youngest son. Who is thirty nine now. And his son my sweet grandson and I made them three years ago Chace is twelve now. I treasure them. They still smell wonderful, but are light as feathers. ❤

I have tears in my eyes, this brought back memories of my Mom. When we were in grade school and would make these for the Nuns at school for the holidays!!

We made these years ago when my mom was a Boy Scout Den Mother. It was one of the best crafts I remember making because it was fun and smelled so wonderful. We put tulle netting around them and tied them with a ribbon so they could be hung up in closets and on door handles. They made great, inexpensive gifts. The cloves acted as moth repellents, too, which was great since we still had coats made of 100% wool. And you are right! They lasted for a long time. Eventually the oranges would shrink down, and some of the cloves would fall out. Since we had covered them in the netting, the cloves were contained within the pomanders. This was such a lovely video that brought back many happy memories to me.
I usually call this the funny season, but Benjamin reminded me to smile and be kind. Tell Mom thanks for sharing the recipe. Hope you don't mind me adopting your mother. Many blessings on this Holiday 2022.
You could put a bandaide on your finger while doing this also for extra cushion. Thanks for the fun idea!

We made these as kids as well! But we didn't have such a glorious place to do that activity! The shed is really fantastic! 😀
