    Nice to see those early model Broughs in action, an interesting history lesson re T E Lawrence/Shaw and his involvement with the marque also.

    Sadly as much as I love war history the only thing I know about TE Lawrence is from the armored train mission from battlefield 1 and you never get any info about him really you only see him in cutscene and not much is told about him

    QUESTION What does the JAP mean on the Brough engines?

    • @HistAvFilmUnit
      @HistAvFilmUnit  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      From Wikipedia: "The first engine (from 1924 to 1936) was the twin-cam KTOR JAP (made by J. A. Prestwich) V twin (upgraded to a Matchless engine from 1936)"

      They vary but the 1932 Brough Superior Lawrence was riding when he crashed and later died, was/is 980 cc.

      @@robertohoraciovines5416 "To S.A." may be the best poetic expression of love and loss ever penned. It is amazing in the way that it encompasses both his own very personal, private and secret loss as well as the loss to the Arab people in only a few beautiful, poignant lines. If you understand the diplomatic background, it also describes the story of the Revolt and its betrayal, and correctly predicts the consequences for the liberated region:
      "And now the little things creep out
      To patch themselves hovels
      in the shadow
      of your gift."
      Amazing.
