- Welcome back folks!
On today's show I'm beginning the restoration of the 1973 DSuper5 that's been sitting in the nextdoor garage for years. Had to make a new rockerpanel and some floor parts. The rear suspension was also in danger due to rust and some pretty poor old repairs. The plan is to make this DS a solid dailydrive, I'm not making a concours-winner out of it, but a well functioning car.

doing good work there. The paintwork of the car looks great but is it hiding more horrors?
It's the usual, some roughness around the corners but nothing serious. If it had been a metallic paint it wouldn't be anything left at all.

Gosh the floor is badly corroded but if you can transform that then you’re a miracle worker.
You’re certainly not afraid of a challenge. I love the wee poodle and what it got up to with putting the 2CV in the ditch! Lol

Looking at all that rust damage, I thought, why not rebuild the chassis base from scratch…
It's easier to just duplicate the missing parts ☺️
Amazing! I always thought that this kind of damage cannot be fixed. Looking how they rust is good way of learning how to spot and prevent.
You fan buy complete new panels for this. You light be supprised that the complete rest end of a DS chassis (from c-post To back) can be bought as a repair section.
