I know you cover heat stress in part 1, but have you seen any studies that focus more on sweating? All the stuff I find is always related to heat stress, but usually brushes over sweating. I work with hazmat for a living, and have used a sauna for 3 years now, my routine is to slam 32oz of water with activated charcoal, then as much as 2liters or more of lemon water with a pinch of salt. I do hour sessions, and in that hour I do what I think of as heat intervals, I start at 150, drop it to 135, when it hits 135 I crank it back to 150, when it hits 150 I drop it back to 135, etc etc for an hour. I go though 2 towels a day, and if I dont I feel like I didnt get a good session. I feel the temperature intervals cause me to sweat more, because I dont care about the heat as much as I focus on getting a good sweat. And a good indicator of a good session is when I the salt from the water I'm drinking is stinging my eyes, because it means that what I'm putting into me is radiating from my stomach to the surface of my skin.
If you are not used to cold water immersion, likely you won't last long at all at first. What is cool though is if you do it daily, you will build up BAT and be able to withstand longer and longer times.

Thanks Cornel. A cold shower will add brown adipose tissue, cause an anti-inflammatory response, boost immune function (among other benefits) that will benefit your WHOLE body, so obviously your heart as well. It shouldn't affect sleep at all.
OK, thanks. Actually I've just been reading today online about some device made several years ago called the cool fat burner. (You can watch videos about it online, including on youtube.) It's something you wear, around your neck shoulder torso area. It cools that area down, where your BAT is. I wonder if it's a good idea to cool that area of the body down in order to quicken fat burning, before, during and/or after refeeding when doing intermittent fasting?!
Dr Ivan should teenagers go on a ketogenic diet for thier health. Also how about kids with ADHD. I want my son to stop the drugs they precibe my son for years
I don't think a ketogenic diet would be appropriate. However, I do think increasing the amounts of healthy fat and eliminating any type of refined grain would be beneficial (The same goes for everyone)

Animal products that are pastured and grass-fed are fantastic for you. You can also read up on Dr. Mercola, Dr. Perlmutter, Dr. Hyman, etc for more info on that.

Great idea, but again, I would make sure you wait 1 hour after your workout before any type of cold exposure for the reasons mentioned in the video.

I didn't come across research on that particular aspect, but I'd imagine you probably want more of your body exposed to get the full benefit.
