    dude watching your videos gets me so excited! I'm 50 now but when I was in my 20's I was in the military. Since I wasn't married I lived in the dorms on base. Well you can imagine having free room and board gave me a bunch of expendable income, and I started my first fish tanks. I never had anything as big as what u have but I did have a 150. Everything I had was glass so no I didn't build any of them. I didn't even really think about it back then. Just imagine fish tanks 25-30 years ago, overhanging charcoal filters, undergravel filters. And my prize...an Eheim canister filter. About 15 years ago I got rid of my last tank and my two Oscars - 10 lb a piece! I didn't realize how much I missed the hobby until I started watching your vids. I don't want to build the killer setup you have but I think I want to get back into it, and I think 150 gallons is the smallest I want to go. Got any advice for an old timer who's out of touch with today's aquarium setups? (BTW I think I'd like to try building my own tanks like you did. Very cool!)

    Love the peacocks. You should add LED light strips under the inner rim of the pond, possibly put it on a slanted surface so they point towards the middle a bit more.

    I have to be honest, I have no interest in aquariums or fish in general (other than finding them aesthetically pleasing) but for some reason I find your videos completely fascinating. My Gramps loves his little fish tank though so I will definitely be sharing your channel with him (and teaching him to use TH-cam while I’m at it lol!)

  • @MikeVivirito

    Wow man, beautiful progress on the pond. Really admire the simple aesthetic with your artwork behind on the walls. I found this video to be especially education and I'm so glad to see you chose some P. Bass for this setup..what a good choice. A customer at my shop today spoke of a fluidized filter DIY project he was starting and mentioned he read your guidebook, "the whole damn thing." Keep it up Joey!

    Might be a good idea to stop the air pump while feeding, so they can detect pellets (or whatever you're feeding) going into the water more easily. Great looking fish though, gonna be awesome in a few months time. :)

  • @Blondstel98
    @Blondstel98 6 ปีที่แล้ว +10

    Please add some sand to the bottom, so we can see the fish

  • @Tuffronicus
    @Tuffronicus 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Not sure if this would be feasible, but It would be awesome if you could set up a waterproof 360 degree camera in the center of the pond, though that'll probably only be truly spectacular once everything's set up and the fishes' colors really come in.

  • @karenwolfsen
    @karenwolfsen 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I like the black exteriors. It's clean and neat, as well as more gallery like. I guess I'd have to see what the stone panel looked like to say if I'd like it better or not, although it sounds like it could be cool. I think it would change the look away from a gallery appearance though.

  • @mfschassis

    Hey joey do you think one of these days you can do a short educational style video on the whole ammonia thing with shipped fish? Something that people who aren’t watching your videos could come across. Because it’s extremely useful information. Plus you can do a water test and kinda show what your talking about with the ammonia spikes.

  • @James-9999
    @James-9999 6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    add white sand to the bottom of the pond and lily pads to the top

  • @de3agle693
    @de3agle693 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    For the pond to help with feeding the Bass, you could have a floating frame with netting around it, kinda like they do in some salmon fisheries. That way your Bass have the benefits of being in the larger body of water but are localised to a smaller area for feeding, until they get larger.
    Thanks Joey for the great content as always.
    Phil

  • @atalayanelson1483

    Nice video bud man I saw that mirror over on the wall and was trying sooooo hard to catch a glimpse of the new fish you got lol keep that in mind when shooting bud and as always love the channel and thanks for inspiring me to build my 7'L x 18"W x 25"H tank. My fish are very happy with the upgrade from that little 60Gal they were in before and I'm thinking in a few years about making a 8'L x 30"W x 25"H as there final tank and it wouldn't have been possible without your channel showing me the way.
    P.S. Have dang sale on your hard back book that thing is expensive lol I'm dying to get it but cant justify that amount on a book even though its probably the only book I would care to read lol have a good one and keep making videos.
