Brothers Green, Pro Home Cooks, MikeG… whatever it is or whatever it changes to - you’re still the cool dude that taught me how to make sourdough bread. You have a special spot in my heart! ☺️
I am a Mom of 12, 11 adopted out of foster care and they have expectations of 3 meals a day and snacks. I hate to cook. I have no creative ideas at all. Watching your videos and others on TH-cam have helped me so much to get better at something I don't like to do. I have a instapot and airfryer because of you and they get used everyday. It has made my life so much easier and I have actually made some great things and I've found that it really isn't that hard if you have good inspiration. You have provided that and your realness and passion show through your videos. Thank you for sharing your life.
What started as two obviously stoned roommates cooking stuff turned into a gardening and using your own produce to make good home meals type channel. I'd call that a success.
It still is fun to see the old footage, despite the low video quality. It was a different time, but also I don't think this could have existed without it. A natural progression of a young man growing into adulthood.
You know your gold when you get great comments from the older generation (me included). And your time line is awesome! "Do what you can with what you have" Never be afraid of change, no one stays the same over the course of a lifetime. Good job and great respect to you.
I began watching this channel when it was Brothers Green. When it became pro home cooks it felt it was what I needed at that time. Now, I am buying my first house with a garden and I love that feeling that this channel will evolve to what I need again. 😊 Keep the great job!
After the Brothers Green breakup I honestly thought I was done watching this channel, but I gave it the benefit of the doubt and Pro Home Cooks really delivered. If the audience could survive that, surely we'll survive this. I look forward to watching whatever you put out! Also I would love a collab with someone like Gaz Oakley if you ever get the chance, and of course more Josh content :)
I literally learned cooking from you. I was so inspired seeing you make food from scratch in your small apartment in Brooklyn, that I started making food from scratch in my tiny kitchen in London many many moons ago. Now I have a 'how hard can it really be' attitude, some essential equipment and still the desire to make wholefood dishes for myself and loved-ones, saving tons of money and feeding me well. Thanks so much for playing a part in my journey, I thoroughly enjoyed seeing you grow over the years.
congrats brother, big stuff! I enjoyed our Brothers Green days together and so happy to see all the epic changes you've made and the direction you've taken things in your life.
I remember watching the two of you back in the day when I was getting stupidly blazed and wanted something to watch and chill with. Glad to see you two are still around in one form or another.
I’m heading to 80 now and I can assure you you will have many evolutions in your life. Cuz life is too long to be content with one passion. You don’t wear the same clothes you wore 20 years ago; you won’t wear the same interests - hopefully. If you’re ready for change and seek it, it’s less hard. Looks to me like you are just diversifying. Nice way to evolve. I’m excited for your upcoming videos.
I'm 60 years old, and YOU are the one who taught me how to quickly and easily dice a stupid onion with zero effort. I've watched all kinds of other cooks and chefs do it, but your method RULES. I find your shows to be fun, educational, and engaging, and I look forward to your new content. Keep having a great Life!
To those who watch the video, the full thing, you are the ones that will be here forever, always part of the community , because we all know if you watch all the videos you appreciate the work he does more.
I am elderly, and we eat plant based for health. In the past I enjoyed many of your videos, observations on ferments, bread, plant foods. Always something to learn and explore. I appreciate cooking that keeps in mind the animals and climate more everyday. Don’t forget to lean into that! Thanks.
Pro Home Cooks is one the channels that showed me how to cook healthy food, when I got out of college instead of just boxes of pasta or frozen whatever. Thank you for all that I've learned and I'm excited to see what happens in upcoming content!
As a qualified Australian chef, that's worked in too many places to name but including catering for Buckingham palace and Windsor castle. I love watching your content for me to cook stuff at home, which is weird but it works..
@@5GreenAcres I don't think most would consider the UK royal family the rulers of the world by any stretch of the imagination but they are perhaps at least a top tier monarchy. I like that a professional has derived some inspiration for their home cooking from Mike here.
@5GreenAcres yup, a catering company that had the royal cress of the Queen, allowing us to do all royal functions after the mi5 security clearance of course 😅
This world is in so dire need of transparency, honesty and authenticity. It's so obvious. You hit all 3 so eloquently here in this "rant" as you called it, but I think everyone will notice and appreciate this video for what it was. I have been around since BrothersGreen and have enjoyed watching you grow. Looking forward to the new adventure of incorporating your gardening into your channel. Good Luck Mike.
I found Brother's Green as an exhausted mom trying to find yummy meals my kids would actually eat that wouldn't break the bank. I binged the videos. I can't say I've watched many of your pro home cooks. Even though I am subscribed with all new videos notifications on, I wasn't sure how you got on my TH-cam😂. I think I've watched 3-4 videos as pro home cooks. This video has put all the pieces together. Thank you for explaining it! I'm excited to hear that you're pulling away from pro home cooks and letting your creativity go wild again.
Started watching when it was Brothers Green Eats, subscribed back then, stayed for Pro Home Cooks, and took cooking more seriously and here we are. You're the reason why I have a set of Tupperware containers, and why I want to pack lunches for work or any long outing (involved with packedlunchpact, but it inspired me).
Hi I’m 73 years old , and I’ve been watching your videos . I’ve learned a lot from you ! Congratulations to you , Lifebymikeg ! I will continue to watch your videos ! Best of luck always !
Started with a 15 minutes cooking videos, then decided to rewatch all old videos, felt the brothers green vibe, then watched you first talking video about becoming pro home cooks, now it's life by Mike g and I love it, honestly I love watching you grow and change and openly talking about it. You made me make kombucha, own bread, learn fermentation, making stocks, butchering, making burgers and pastas and so much more, and most of the stuff I did first time watching your videos. Love from Kharkiv, Ukriane by Valerii
It took 18 minutes to get to the point. That’s how much I enjoy your videos. The vibe you have created really speaks to who you are and what I hope to learn from you going forward. You’re awesome. Keep growing.
Hey Mike, one piece of unsolicited advice: Consider using capital letters at the start of each 'word' in the new name - LifeByMikeG or Life By Mike G or Life by Mike G. The use of only the one capital and smooshed together words looks very amateur. Been here since the Brothers Green days and I hope this rebranding give you all that you need to find contentment!
Couldn't agree more. In the UK we have a restaurant chain called Wagamama's and they don't use capital letters ever. Anywhere. I absolutely hate having to go onto their website because of it.
I found your channel just in the last couple of months. Pro Home Cooks resonated with me 'cause that's what I aspire to be. I also recently retired from graphic design and have been looking for inspiration in how to combine design and cooking. So thanks for the pep talk on keeping your passion for life growing and always changing. I still plan to watch lots of your previous videos. I'm making your 15 minute pasta sauce tonight with my garden tomatoes.
I started watching Brothers Green at the recommendation from my son. You have inspired him to be the meal provider and creator for his growing family (2 children 1 and 3 y/o). I am glad you are adapting your channel to what works for you. We all evolve and become better. Congratulations on your new channel!
I started watching in the Brothers Green era while I was in my college dormitory. I don't believe I have ever cooked anything that you or your brother featured. The channel has inspired me culinarily but the cooking alone was not what kept me coming back. In other words, I'm here for you, your aesthetic, your style, your passion, etc. I was disappointed when you went solo but you kept delivering! I am glad that you've chosen to re-plant yourself in a way that will nourish you with newfound motivation and creativity
I would absolutly love seeing more in depth garden videos with these new changes! Like, what vegetables you should plant when and general gardening tips.
Thanks for taking the time to make this video. I've recently realized how much of my own life is built around the approval of others and what I believe others would be impressed with and it's really refreshing to see someone who has struggled with a similar problem come out on the other side.
Ive grown with you from the college, quick meal life style in the “city”. To now being a family with a home and garden now as well. You’ve taught me so much when it comes to cooking! I’ll always be here following along.
I was in a band once and it stopped being fun. That's when I had to get out. I had such a sense of relief. I've left other bands but none of them ever got me as down as this one. You are so smart to follow your passion. I discovered you as Pro Home Cooks. I look forward to your expanded content, especially gardening and composting (on a postage stamp.) I'm an apt dweller for life. Congrats on the change!
Hey Mike! The first thing I noticed after I saw a new upload was, why isn't it from PRO HOME COOKS coz you've literally made it a household name. But, it also means LifebyMikeG will turn into a household name too :) What the viewers, or I love about you is your smartness and creativity and we'd love to see it in any form :) All the very best for the journey ahead and ready to experience all changes with you :) Lots of love & positive vibes ✨
God, I couldn't say it any better than that, so I won't! Except ditto! Great comment @Child_Prodigyyy, and good luck Mike, am always a watcher! (dyslexia, I can sure relate to that, I see words that aren't even there!)
I've been a part of the pro home cook journey, but I'm excited to learn outside of cooking but still related subjects that can build off of the cooking world. You're one of my favorite cooks. I look forward to seeing more good stuff in the future.
It was great hearing your story. I have been following you for a number of years. I did miss that little kitchen. Somehow that felt relatable. I have to admit I can't relate to a number of your videos. Many would not be able to afford, have space to do what you create. I still watch you. I wish you many years of waking up feeling inspired.
Here from the beginning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This felt so sincere and really thought out, i was so invested in every word. funny, i don't cook or garden but i love this channel! Keep growing Mike, we love it!
Best of luck with the new changes. I only recently discovered your videos, but I will continue to follow you. I appreciate the sensible, realistic, supportive approach that strives for delicious food for healthy eaters and a healthy planet while pushing me, an average home cook, to expand my skills and repertoire. Thank you so much. 😊
Started watching you because you’re and your brothers funny stoner recipes were something I’d see myself making at 1am high af, as well as the change to pro home cooks around the time I went off to university, I matured, now as a fully grown man myself you’re going your own way and rebranding again. People can’t expect everything to stay the same, I’ve changed since I first discovered you like 7+ years ago, you’re brother moved onto his guru channel, and you carried on with the food oriented side of things. Yet the last maybe 4 years, moving from a studio back to a home, and foraging and growing your own stuff. Whatever works best! I’ll still be here recipe testing and watching along with you, keep it up Mike.
Your channel is the reason I started branching out as a foodie and exploring the wonders of cooking! I went semi-vegan a few years ago and stumbled upon your videos on Indian food. I’m no where near vegan still, but I always drift back to your channel! Now that I’m an adult I’ve been thinking about starting gardening and I love that the changes in this channel reflect things I want to bring into my life 💜 I know I’ve always loved the energy you create in the studio and so do thousands of other people 💜 thank you for sharing your journey and passion with us!
Honest, sensible, inspirational- it seems regardless of what your channel is named, today’s “content” is on brand. Bravo, Mike. Cheers to continued joy, honesty, & creativity. ❤
Hi Mike. This is fascinating. You sound to me like when you’re comfortable that you become somewhat uncomfortable that you “must” have something in the cooker. You also sound like you could use a business manager/strategist, someone who would see your North Star (plus, *anticipate any alterations to it) then, help you do everything you can to get there. Again, JMHO. Great luck🌬️🌤️🕊️.
I don't usually comment on videos but I just wanted to let you know. Pro home cook really helped me with my beginning cooking skills when I started years ago. The thing I loved about you, over other cooking channels, was how you taught about improvising and substituting rather than following exact recipes. And learning from mistakes. Like the fact that you would leave those in videos and talk about what you did wrong and how you fixed. It really inspired me and showed me that it wasn't uncommon to mess up a dish. Now I'm constantly challenging myself to new ways of cooking.
I remember the exact recipe that got me hooked to Brothers Green Eats. Cinnamon raisin, nutella, strawberries, and bananas. Delicious. It was part of the George Foreman grill dessert series. Your videos provided me with a lot of inspiration, knowledge, and instilled a sense of confidence in my ability to cook and provide for my friend's and family. Throughout the mistakes in the kitchen and mishaps from my attempts, I've always returned to learn more from your channel. One of which being the fermentation series. I tried my best to make kimchi but it never turned out the way I thought it could. One day, at the food market, I decided to strike up a conversation with the kimchi vendor hoping to learn more about fermentation and the next thing you know, we're going on a date. And now, we're madly in love. Sometimes it's difficult to actually pinpoint the impact people have on your life but when you spoke about finding inspiration and it being the catalyst for the rebrand, I began to get really teary eyed listening to your rant. And yes, as an on-and-off fan, I watched the whole thing - including the ads! Suffice to say, best of luck to your new channel and I look forward to the zany ideas, the DIY edits, and the next great opportunity for you. As for me, I'm off to the grocery store to make the classic cinnamon raisin nutella (but with apples) for my girl. P.S. Check out the Spirited Man by Van Neistat www.youtube.com/@vanneistat
Onwards and upwards Mike! I was just thinking the other day that I haven't seen a video recommended to me by you in a long time and here you are. As an artist, I get it. You can do what you love for a living but it's still a job and you will eventually get burn out from the repetition if you end up doing the same thing over and over, it's stifling. You need some novelty, something that feels like a natural progression and I think that is where your channel is at. I think this is going to be fantastic! We will get more of a vlog style that shows a day in the life behind your old series. I would love to see some day to day stuff where you are just taking care of your garden and chickens etc, maybe some tips on how you grow your veggies. (I have more of a black thumb than green lol, I'll take all the help I can get! haha). This is opening up your options for creating content on your own terms without putting yourself in a box again hopefully. I know a lot of youtubers will just create a new channel for separate types of content and urge viewers to go sub there too, sometimes it works, sometimes It doesn't. Sorry for the long, disjointed message, I am excited to see what you're going to do, I'm wishing you and your family the best!
Im happy and proud of you for showing up for yourself, family and art ❤ It can be mentally chaotic being a creative stuck in a box, I am thankful for your content. It sure reflects the amazing man you are 😊
Glad you were able re-steer that cruise ship! I just started watching your content after I got my air-fryer last week. It's your approach to cooking is what makes you very approachable to everyone!
Man. Pro Home Cooks was a strong name and brand, I feel like this could have been a 2nd channel idea or something rather than this huge change-up to the core audience of this channel (again). I understand that your IG is already by this name, and I hope this change is a positive one for you and for the content. Dig your content, always have and probably always will.
totally valid point and you're not the first person to tell me this. In my case it wasn't worth keeping up the brand of Pro Home cooks since it wasn't serving me anymore. Im not the type of person to keep two channels going. I would rather put all my passion and inspiration into one brand ad channel that is aligned with where i'm currently at. Thanks for writing in.
@@LifebyMikeG I can definitely respect that. I genuinely do wish the best for this new direction for the channel and plan to keep watching, myself. Thanks for the reply!
I think you have already learned a lot in being a "pro hone cook" that yoh want to explore different avenues. Besides, you're a dad now and you've grown in so many ways that being only a pro home cook is definitely limiting now. You are a lot more than just a pro home cook.
Love your sincereness ❤ ! It’s also inspiring how you are following your alignment. It’s the path that I’m on right now and you sharing is almost a confirmation for me to keep going in that direction! Thank you 🙏🏻!
Dude, your air fryer videos have transformed my eating habits. You underlined, and reaffirmed my belief that cooking can be SO flexible, and I've since been eating SO MUCH healthier with just a few tweaks thanks to you. Lifebymikeg all the way good sir!
I am so glad that you will continue to follow your passion because I do enjoy your videos and the effort you put into your work. You inspire me to want to relax, step back, learn, and explore food..foodie at heart here. ❤ It's been an awesome journey with you, and I will continue to enjoy more of your work!
Wow. Been around for a very (very) long time…you changed the way I cook and operate in my kitchen. My hubby learned to make bread from your Sour Dough U. Love these transition videos that you post. So very real. Thanks for sharing the journey! ❤
Benn watching your videos 10+ years amazing content got me into cooking and cheap meals at first and trying new recipes and making things work with what i had then now to fermenting and getting alot more creatuve in my cooking process love you guys hope everything keeps progressing love watching your videos.
Awesome! Congrats on the new page for the channel! Thanks for the history of you and your channel! My family and I love your content- keep on knocking out the great shows! Love from TEXAS- Matt
I found you this year during my first few months of marriage and it helped me become more confident in the kitchen! I am excited for you new brand. I always loved how you incorporated being a dad and gardening! Can't wait for this new chapter.
Been watching since Brothers Green and the small apartment kitchen, confused during the intial changeover to Pro Home Cooks but loved the studio flat, have found the move to your Long Island home both comfy and personable, and I'm positive that I will be completely entralled with wherever Life By Mike G might go. Never give up your passion, but continue to evolve into whatever life requires of you. Thanks for all of your inspiration, and I'm looking forward to how you choose to share your life's journey.
Your content truly changed everything in my life when it comes to cooking. Keep doing your thing - love that you keep all the older content for those who enjoy a bit of nostalgia lol.
To me, having followed you for the better part of a decade and having heard your story, it seems to me that all of the iterations of your channel have been logical progressions as you’ve grown as a person. You grew, your channel grew with you. I think this is a great shift and hope it gives you all great creative freedom you’re hoping for! I’m looking forward to more great content! On a side note, our timelines for our cooking stories have been fairly similar. I learned that I have some pretty serious food allergies about 15 years ago and had to totally relearn how to cook with a completely new set of ingredients that didn’t include gluten or dairy. I was learning about fermenting food about the same time as you and you helped me a lot with that and several other cooking techniques along those lines. I really appreciate your content and the passion with which you create it. So, thank you. 😀
I'm 77 now & I remember finding your channel when it was you & your brother. When you guys split up I was really bummed but kept watching your channel. You have always done a great job keeping the interest in finding new things with cooking, although my brother & I always liked cooking because my Mom & Grandma were excellent cooks and we like eating really tasty food. Life is always a moving target and things will forever change. I hope you stay satisfied in what you do & I know whatever that may lead you it will always be good. Keep it up !
@@chrisweldon6076 Mike always had good advice and techniques on how to cook. If you know what you like, then you can make good food. Just learn how it works and how it works for you. I've loved cooking since grade school.
You taught me that I too can make sourdough and kimchi from my (then) Gowanus apartment. It’s a pleasure to watch your brand evolve, especially because we (your audience) are also evolving. I’m still in Brooklyn but have a yard now and enjoy seeing what you grow in yours! Thanks for the content 😊
As someone who's been making various content for 13 years now on TH-cam just starting to try and build a cooking channel, it's hard to not feel like I missed the boat and it's a losing battle so I can defs relate to the imposter syndrome stuff people talk about. I try to remember now it's not my job to be the best youtuber, it's just my job to be me ✌️
i have been watching since i was like 14/15, im nearly 27 now and i've grown up as much as you have and im sure that's the same as the rest of the audience! will always be a fan and always watching the vids!
First video I ever watched of yours was the "15 Mistakes Most Beginner Cooks Make (part 1)" from 2017, and that was the first time I was following a framework instead of a recipe. By the end of it, I remember feeling like I was genuinely cooking on my own instead of following specific instructions exactly. That continued with Conquer the Kitchen, sourdough recipes, and many more videos of yours. And now that passion has grown, and I am a professional cook just turned professional bread baker. So I owe a huge debt of thanks to you, especially early on in my cooking journey. Looking forward to what comes next!
came here to the comment section to post almost exactly this, i was already a restaurant manager back then, making simple dishes over and over again, but had a problem thinking outside the box when it came to my at home meals. after seeing the channel, alongside a few others it reignited my passion for being in the kitchen and propelled me to make better career decisions to work in restaurants with more creative freedom and a better work-life balanced hours of operation, and doing a much more well rounded job of preparing my meals at home. so crazy that we started with the exact same video, i was just about to scroll through all of the videos on this channel to find the year it was posted, but you ended up saving me some time, thanks, and congrats on your success
I’ve enjoyed/learned from your channel for several years. I never knew the inception of your journey. WOW. Being a suburban gardener. Vegetarian for 45 yrs. I know I will enjoy and absorb all, your new content. Keep up the good work. 🎉
I'm so happy for you! I started subscribing about 8 years ago, and it has been great following your journey. I'm really looking forward to your upcoming content.
I started watching back in the Brother's Green days and I believe my first video was "How to eat well on $3 a day". That and the other ones like that were my start, then the hour long thanksgiving, and the tiny kitchen tour, hooked me in, been watching ever since. I am excited to see more of the gardening and other type stuff as I have been wanting to get into that more myself and I really like your approach to things. Its explained well without talking down to people or over simplifying, its refreshing to see. So keep on making that content and I (and I'm sure probably about 4mill others) are glad to see your inspiration is climbing again. Gotta continue to enjoy what you do for sure.
Thank you for sharing this with us 💛 I’ve been watching your videos for the last 5 years as I began my own cooking/homesteading journey. Thank you for being open with us about your experiences and I’m looking forward to seeing where your creativity takes us!
Super inspiring! Reminds me a lot of my own journey with my channel. I built a huge e-commerce business, walked away from it, back with a smaller team and trying to be inspired.
thanks for the explanation! I’m so happy you’re happy! I’ve been watching about five years, for most of the Pro Home Cooks period, and I absolutely love watching because of YOU. What you share is interesting and helpful, your enthusiasm and personality is infectious and encouraging, and I’m truly looking forward to following what you’re up in real life and continuing to learn. Your happiness and enthusiasm will make the channel even more enjoyable for us, so thanks for making this change and bringing us along. Thanks for all your hard work!
HI Mike! So happy to see you growing and expanding and truly staying true to your north star. Way to go! I will be still following and learning from you.
Started watching a couple years ago because I HATE cooking. I don't know what it is but your channel keeps me inspired to at least try and to try new things. I am so appreciative of you. Its crazy but sometimes I feel like the channels I subscribe to are like friends who are cheering me on and when someone stops altogether, it is crushing. I love seeing people rebrand and do what they love because it creates energy again while keeping up with the people who love and support you. Anyway, thank you, Mike.
I'm another person who's been watching you since he Brothers Green days and getting inspired by your recipes. I will continue to watch no matter the branding of your channel/account, and I give kudos for understanding yourself enough to pivot. Wishing you much success.
Honestly the name (no offence) never made sense to me...whenever I saw it I was expecting a company or a group or something. So tying your brand to your name makes way more sense. Looking forward to what you're gonna do next! 😊
Thanks for the update, basically it means it is going to be a continuation of the more recent content, which I've enjoyed. If anything, the content has been better recently, with a lot of focus on the garden in addition to the cooking, which is lovely to see and get insipired. I've discovered this channel in the Brother's Green era, back when I was first (mildly) interested in cooking. It was just a fun, honest and easygoing channel and I loved both of you as personalities and firing up a little bit of passion for my own cooking. I think I went out of touch with the channel at some point, I'm not entirely sure why. But since the last few years my passion for cooking has been rekindled and I found it again. I think the current era of the long island studio with the massive garden has been the best quality content, the lighting for sure is one aspect that has been great. Also, showing often the complete picture from start till end, from plant to meal is a massive bonus. Basically the only thing that is missing is actually having animals for meat, fish and cheese for a complete food palette. I'm still not sure how you manage to go so many videos with extremely good weather, or without massive garden interuptions from pests. We currently are experiencing a massive snail overpopulation, which killed about 90% of our garden production. Our poor lonely hedgehog (which we know is living here) can't keep up with the thousands of snails that crawl out of the ground every day. This is the first year we are actually praying for a bit of drought, so they don't come. I guess that is something we have to find a solution for next year, but it would have killed us if we were fully dependant on the food that is coming out of our community garden. For me, this change is but a formality and I appreciate this look back at the history of the channel. If anything, I'm grateful you didn't get to be TV cooks, as in this era, TV is basically a dying format that mainly old people still watch out of habit. TH-cam and video on demand is the future and if that ever changes, you can always hop on to the next content platform which replaces it and bring all these lovely followers with you. Thanks for all the amazing content and I wish you a bright future.
Shout out to the General Assembly days in 2011 NYC where you did a few of those catered business lunches for us. Was super fun hanging out with you and Josh back then, and I love what you guys have both made of your lives.
Started watching brothers green specifically how to make a flatbread into a pizza video been hooked ever since. I feel like I’ve evolved as a cook right along with your channel. Although I love the farm to table in depth cooking technique videos my heart misses brothers green and “old TH-cam” vibes
Been watching since 2014 in HS and was influenced to cook for big groups of friends in college over the next several years. I’ve loved watching, learning and sharing food and can’t wait to see the next steps of your journey.
At the end of the day, you need to be happy with what you are doing. Today I’ve been on TH-cam for 12 years and am having more success and happiness in the past 8 months. My channel started off all about gardening but now it is more lifestyle. I believe people watch a channel because of the person rather than the subject matter. I now mix all my footage together in each video. It’s more of a personal diary. All the best for the future
Thanks for sharing your journey. I've been watching since the beginning of covid -- when I retired -- and have learned so much from you! Appreciate all your trial and error methods. Looking forward to how you continue to share your own life path with us. You are appreciated by a lot of people! Keep up the good work Mike and be true to yourself. ❤
Brothers Green, Pro Home Cooks, MikeG… whatever it is or whatever it changes to - you’re still the cool dude that taught me how to make sourdough bread. You have a special spot in my heart! ☺️
Same!!
Word up!
Watching for many years and love it; absolutely love it.
Same here!!🎉

Watching your videos and others on TH-cam have helped me so much to get better at something I don't like to do. I have a instapot and airfryer because of you and they get used everyday. It has made my life so much easier and I have actually made some great things and I've found that it really isn't that hard if you have good inspiration. Well done to you!
GOD BLESS YOU!!!!🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

What started as two obviously stoned roommates cooking stuff turned into a gardening and using your own produce to make good home meals type channel. I'd call that a success.
Haha pretty much nailed it
😂
It still is fun to see the old footage, despite the low video quality. It was a different time, but also I don't think this could have existed without it. A natural progression of a young man growing into adulthood.
I literally thought “I bet veg wasn’t the only thing he was growing in that garden” 😂😂😂

If the audience could survive that, surely we'll survive this. I look forward to watching whatever you put out! Also I would love a collab with someone like Gaz Oakley if you ever get the chance, and of course more Josh content :)
love it and let hime know! he's certainly been on my radar for a collab

Amazing
congrats brother, big stuff! I enjoyed our Brothers Green days together and so happy to see all the epic changes you've made and the direction you've taken things in your life.
You two are amazing, wether working together or separately! So glad you've worked to maintain a great relationship!
I remember watching the two of you back in the day when I was getting stupidly blazed and wanted something to watch and chill with. Glad to see you two are still around in one form or another.
I'm looking forward to the new stuff. But please don't delete anything. I still come back to rewatch things
14:05 The wave of nostalgia I got from the clip of you cooking the steak with an iron in a hotel room. Legend.
Such wise advice! I agree with you it IS a nice way to evolve and I’m also excited for the new videos
Which episode is that?

You catered for the rulers of the world?
Good Luck Mike.
thanks for sticking around !
You're the reason why I have a set of Tupperware containers, and why I want to pack lunches for work or any long outing (involved with packedlunchpact, but it inspired me).
awesome stuff! thanks for writing in
Hi I’m 73 years old , and I’ve been watching your videos . I’ve learned a lot from you ! Congratulations to you , Lifebymikeg ! I will continue to watch your videos ! Best of luck always !
Dude! It's more than just a couple of million of subscribers! 4.5M today! Own it! 💕🌞🌵😷
Crazy it's already been 5 years since pro home cooks started. It's been an absolute joy to watch the channel evolve and grow.
Big moves, my man. Excited to see what the future holds for you. If you're happy, we're happy.
That’s such a nice message! 😊
Sounds like another channel! Maybe Mike could partner with someone on that?
Thanks for taking the time to make this video. I've recently realized how much of my own life is built around the approval of others and what I believe others would be impressed with and it's really refreshing to see someone who has struggled with a similar problem come out on the other side.
Brothers Green was how I was introduced to you, always loved your content.
Ive grown with you from the college, quick meal life style in the “city”. To now being a family with a home and garden now as well. You’ve taught me so much when it comes to cooking! I’ll always be here following along.
0:57 I have been watching you for last 7 years when your brother was there with you.. Will keep watching too.. Go Mike!
But, it also means LifebyMikeG will turn into a household name too :) What the viewers, or I love about you is your smartness and creativity and we'd love to see it in any form :) All the very best for the journey ahead and ready to experience all changes with you :) Lots of love & positive vibes ✨
thanks for the support!
God, I couldn't say it any better than that, so I won't! Except ditto! Great comment @Child_Prodigyyy, and good luck Mike, am always a watcher! (dyslexia, I can sure relate to that, I see words that aren't even there!)
Hey, this is from India, loved your rant . As long as ur doing it I love it.
I took a plunge in fermentation due to you🎉
He’s a nice man.
I've been a part of the pro home cook journey, but I'm excited to learn outside of cooking but still related subjects that can build off of the cooking world. You're one of my favorite cooks. I look forward to seeing more good stuff in the future.
Dude I've seen bits and pieces of this but the full timeline is such a cool story. Congrats to the years past and many more to come!!
Been around since brothers green. Learned so much from you on pro home cooks. Excited to hear you found your joy!
Brothers green to pro home cooks to lifebymikeg 🤯
I think we'll have couple more name changes in future. Like, oh, I have an idea, let's change things. 😁
There were too many cooks in the kitchen and this time there was too much kitchen in the cook
Crazy to think I’ve been here long enough for a second rebranding.
Yes, I also remember the brothers green!
@@DmitryPolovka cap bruh

Been here since Brothers Green. Mike, I appreciate how honest you are with yourself. Thanks for letting us watch you grow through life.
I agree
totally valid point and you're not the first person to tell me this.

Why is it Lifebymikeg and not Life By Mike G? Is there a TH-cam algorithm reason?

Looking forward to what comes next!
wow amazing journey! thanks for writing in
came here to the comment section to post almost exactly this, i was already a restaurant manager back then, making simple dishes over and over again, but had a problem thinking outside the box when it came to my at home meals. after seeing the channel, alongside a few others it reignited my passion for being in the kitchen and propelled me to make better career decisions to work in restaurants with more creative freedom and a better work-life balanced hours of operation, and doing a much more well rounded job of preparing my meals at home.

Wishing you the best in this new endeavor !

Gotta add the song “Dupe - CTM” to your playlist bro 😅
Started watching a couple years ago because I HATE cooking. I don't know what it is but your channel keeps me inspired to at least try and to try new things. I am so appreciative of you. Its crazy but sometimes I feel like the channels I subscribe to are like friends who are cheering me on and when someone stops altogether, it is crushing. I love seeing people rebrand and do what they love because it creates energy again while keeping up with the people who love and support you. Anyway, thank you, Mike.
Love the new logo and name! Can't wait For more
I'm another person who's been watching you since he Brothers Green days and getting inspired by your recipes. I will continue to watch no matter the branding of your channel/account, and I give kudos for understanding yourself enough to pivot. Wishing you much success.
maybe make the username Life By Mike G and not Lifebymikeg, i feel like it's really ugly
Yeah it looks weird...
Honestly the name (no offence) never made sense to me...whenever I saw it I was expecting a company or a group or something. So tying your brand to your name makes way more sense. Looking forward to what you're gonna do next! 😊
Keeping it real - ❤ and 🎉. Don’t delete old videos and keep going, wherever life takes you. Thanks for all you’re doing.
Was super fun hanging out with you and Josh back then, and I love what you guys have both made of your lives.
wow thanks for writing in!
