What really pissed me off though is the soundtrack they had for sale wasn't the tracks that were actually in the film they were fucked up remixes. Which is fine but why not just have both versions on it or put out both and make more money.
Would have been great in movies like the matrix, resident evil, blade all them action dark movies. I love his voice literally my favorite when it comes to hitting emotion
"NOTE: In the movie and on its soundtrack all the Violin music and the Middle Eastern background sounds were created by the noted East Indian music composer and violinist Mr. L. Shankar. He also wrote and played that very haunting violin music that the pretty Gypsy Woman and Lestat were playing: "On the Beach, aka Lestat's Violin." composed and performed by L. Shankar" The Jupiter 2
I am pissed that KORN'S record label wouldn't let Queen Of The Damned (Jon's) soundtrack be released with him singing the songs!! They did however do justice by the bands / artists covering JON'S songs!!
The original as well was Jon's voice, The entire music score was originally him on the actual film they used his voice for Lestat's singing , He had artists he respects cover them for the cd version of the soundtrack later on
I LOVE the instrumental to this song... listen to the fucking violin! It's beautifully haunting.... All of the instruments are beautiful! Side note: The drummer looks insane lol
Go listen to some Persian music then, plenty of violins in their music, I had to listen to it as a child and was embarassed, but now that I am an adult I can appreciate it more.
Im wondering if the band might have consisted of people with a mental disability. I suffer from extreme PTSD so if this is true it makes me love JD that much more. He has been through so much but his heart is pure as a crystal.
This is what Jon is on his own. A powerhouse of vocals and emitting emotions that only a traumatized iteration could display. His song writing stands shoulder to shoulder with the likes of Jerry Cantrell, and Maynard James K. ❤️🩹
This song truly captured the "soul" of The Vampyre. Just as an experience with a vampyre is a wanton sensual feast, the songs poignant & evocative strings instantaneously transport the listener to the same realm of feeling. As if they themselves were having an interlude with a vampyre. "Vampyre Aphrodesia" I still listen to it all the time!❤
It's beautiful by itself. It's haunting, exotic and gives me chills. I've watched Queen of the Damned when it was first released in the cinemas in my country. it was played by the gypsies hanging around Marius' castle and Lestat being a new fledgling vampire was in thirsty for blood. We all knew what happened next. The violin is almost chanting, sort of singing the complaints of an oppressed, indigenous people, tribe, culture at risk of disappearing.
I can't describe my feelings for this song... but I'll let you know : this is how addiction feels like ... stay away from any drugs or get help and do your best . There's someone who loves you guys
This whole entire show is amazing! He is so talented and gifted.Korn are one of the best bands Ive ever seen live, but Id love to see his side projects
He's planning on doing a solo tour in 2018. He can't do it with the SFA because Shane Gibson passed away RIP :,( but he's planning to use songs that he's been working on in the last 10 years. I also heard that his unreleased track of basic needs, appears in the film 'american satan'.
This is one of my favorite acoustic performances ever. I by far prefer this version to the original because I absolutely love the instrumentation. Most acoustic performances are nice, but a bit boring because it's usually acoustic guitar at the forefront, but the way they chose to have drums, bongos, keyboard, violin, acoustic bass, and an 8-string guitar as the instruments makes the sound so unique. And me being a violin player, I love the strings in this. Jonathan Davis also sounds great here--raw and powerful. I just love this video so much. Okay, I'm done ranting, lol.
I’ve got to say, this is my favorite version, his vocals were so passionate and the violin was heart tugging. What a beautiful combination 🔥 Everything was perfect.
SO amazing KoRn was chosen as Lestat's band, because my friends and I ALL agreed after the first movie that KoRn would be ABSOFUCKINGLUTELY PERFECT for Lestat's band. And it was so. XD
I really loved this soundtrack when I heard it the first time with Jay singing it.. But I'll be damned, this is even better from Jonathan Davis and the fact that its live! epic!
eroOtoko1 Johnathan Davis sang the songs in the movie, for some reason the songs on the movies soundtrack were covered but jay chester and others. fuck if i know why, his voice is legendary.
joe smith label bullshit. Sony (i think it was his label at the time) didnt let him put out music on another label. So they had to get others to sing the song.
This song is so f*ckin amazing!!! It gives me an egyptian, mediteranean, medieval, mongolian, south asia indian and asian feel to it. How could this be?
You folks should listen to their early doc, how Munky and Head found JD. ) But JD is definitely in a league of his own, you just can't mistake his voice for anyone.
Queen of the damned had like the best movie tracks ever.
Twilight did actually
Hell yeah it did
spawn and queen of the damned
What really pissed me off though is the soundtrack they had for sale wasn't the tracks that were actually in the film they were fucked up remixes. Which is fine but why not just have both versions on it or put out both and make more money.
totally agree with you!
he wrote the entire movie score and soundtrack , he is the man
Wow
With Richard Gibbs, please don't forget that
@@fercho2040 and there were otyer songs on the soundtrack than the made for queen of the damned stuff.
Except he didn’t, it was like 7 people..
That soundtrack is my favourite, it's in my collection.
Hands down, this is the BEST version of this song... the classic strings, driving percussion, haunting vocals... amazing song
The live version at a radio was even better man

Misunderstood ask and I’ll tell the idea of the music is to enjoy not punish the listener and u haven’t seen the last of Jon
The most unrated song ever! It's a masterpiece!

I like how creative they got with this song from the movie. This song is somehow still breathing life.
"NOTE: In the movie and on its soundtrack all the Violin music and the Middle Eastern background sounds were created by the noted East Indian music composer and violinist Mr. L. Shankar. L Shankar is musical genius.
@@swanabangan7885 Yes!
"Did you think it's cool to walk right into my life and Fuck it up." My love life basically
his voice in this recording and the violin gives me chills down my spine.
HOLY CRAP this song gives me goosebumps everytime i hear it, no matter where i hear it and when i hear it. GENIUS
I am pissed that KORN'S record label wouldn't let Queen Of The Damned (Jon's) soundtrack be released with him singing the songs!! They did however do justice by the bands / artists covering JON'S songs!!
+Dale Geissler would you let one of your artist release a complete cd on another label? Besides the songs with his voice are on the internet.
+fack ya It's an easy licensing issue. You take your cut of the profits and stfu. But...they're greedy fucks.
I really love HIS originals .... I like the album too ... but HIS voice is more amazing and makes ya FEEL IT! lbvs
@@Imperial_Blaze nah fuck that the album does not hold up compared to JDs versions
@@Fuhrdaddy I actually prefer Chester Bennginton's version of 'system'.
The intro when you discover the ancient tomb of the vampire goddess somewhere in Egypt or Middle east.
So many years later I’m still in love with the entire QOTD vibe. 🤤
That violin noise is so beautiful
One of my favorite songs ever..
Well this version. Jonathan's voice makes the track feel more dark and you can feel the emotions.
The original as well was Jon's voice, The entire music score was originally him on the actual film they used his voice for Lestat's singing , He had artists he respects cover them for the cd version of the soundtrack later on
