Nice take down. I have a question. I have a 5.7 in an 08 ram. Recently put a new starter and noticed right above the starter on the block there’s a hole that’s open. Looks like a freeze plug would go there. I think I saw the same thing on your block. Do you know what that hole is there for?
@@crabybacon69 it’s not a freeze plug. Could be a knock sensor mount. I’d need to review a block diagram for certainty. This particular block is a 2009+ which is different than the 2008 and older.
@@MJMOPARS yeah I was sure it wasn’t a freeze plug. Just couldn’t find a better word. Mine has a threaded hole next to it like if you could put something to block the hole and and put a screw to hold it in place. I bought it used so not sure what the previous owner might have removed or done to it. I’ll probably block it off. Don’t like the idea that it can corrode from the inside out if I don’t block it off. Thanks for your feedback.
great videos and project. could you do a little longer video of your work and progress. would like to see how you wire it up :)
Sure thing! As I start new CAM, MDS delete and VVT phaser lockout…all reassembly and wiring, my videos will become more process oriented. Thanks!

Hmm. I’ll have to check that out. Have to finish boxing the frame and then I’ll move back to motor and trans install.
