The 756 looks and sounds awesome. Reminds me of when I was a kid. My neighbor would take me out in the fields with him a lot on a very similar rig. The sounds and smells I will never forget. Good memories.

Great job on the intro, I couldn’t have said it better. Field looks good, dirt rolled over nice. Looks good enough to plant actually. One of the many reasons I love my Internationals is the draft control and that was a good explanation of its operation. Stars and Stripes and Red Power!

Memorial day and veterans day are every day here too. 1 grandfather served in the army in ww2, the other the navy during Korea. 2 uncles served in the army in Vietnam, 1 in the marines as a scout sniper (also one of the 54 military advisers Congress authorised to work with the El Salvadoran government during their civil war throughout the 1980s btw) and another uncle served in the navy during Vietnam. I myself left for basic training (army) the day Saddam Hussein invaded Kuwait by odd coincidence (Aug 1990), and served as a 57F (graves and reg/ aka army mortician) for 8 years. My son is currently serving in the army as a Calvary Scout, stationed at Ft Riley KS atm.

Disc plow works better with a lot of trash or a high clearance plow. High clearance plows pull harder. You are doing a good job.

Did alot of plowing with an 856 in my younger days. Good plowing tractor. It was a Wheatland. Had cab with 4 window air-conditioning. Pulled 5 bottoms.

Back when I was a kid, the "experts" said you had to plow deep to allow the corn's taproot to reach moisture. Then they discovered overworked soil compacts too much and then they realized cover crops like turnips, beets, radishes and rutabagas were exactly what the soil needed: big soil loosening action and plenty of organic matter. Full circle farming.

Looks good to me! Dad always said 6 to 8 inches is all you need for corn. We used to plow tobacco ground at 12 inches.

Hows it going looks good. Draft control controls the depth of the plough so if you dip down on the front the plow goes down and if you go up on the front the plough raises up so at all times the plough stayes at the same level. Your lever adjusts for how sensitive the your 3 point hitch reacts. That's just my opinion. Seeing the plough pluged up oh I hated plowing corn stalks on off the tractor all the time. Nice and mellow soil. My plowing experience is with an IH 145 and 966. Our soils is really heavy, all the plowing was done in 3rd low, TA back when it was tough pulling. Depth was 10 to 12 inches.
Good ground. Plowing that fast I would have figured on seeing a bottom trip but it was breaking pretty easy.

We had a 450 farmall and 3 bottom oliver plow would always plug up corn stalks , We secured heavy gage wire to the mounting arms about 5 feet long off the cutters wheels it really worked well .

I've got a IH tractor with the draft control lever too, and it makes the lift act funky (makes it want to lift or not lift). Is there a certain way to work them together?
Maybe I can help explain it to you, the draft control lever should only be used for ground engaging implements hooked to the three point hitch such as a plow, disk, or cultivator. It basically controls the load on the tractor which in turn controls the depth of the implements while working. When not using draft, keep the lever in the bottom of the quadrant, heavy setting. Use the position control lever for other operations of the three point. When you first get in the field with something that you are going to use draft with, lower position control lever to bottom of its quadrant, somewhere in the fast or slow response area depending on how fast you want the draft control to respond. Then set draft lever about half way in its quadrant, like he said in the video, and start plowing, adjust draft lever to get proper depth while plowing. When you reach the end of your swath, or row, use only the position control and raise your implement and turn around and go again. I hope this helps.
Back in the 1990s I used to have a 706 with that C291 gas engine. Did a lot of work with that old girl.

BTW, the last of the b17's built had 13 guns, 50 caliber, the term "give them all 9 yards" was made popular there, each gun had a 9 yard belt of ammo. Bombardier laid flat looking thru bomb sight, he had a joy stick and flew the plane last 30 seconds over target, then said ,bombs away,pilot the plane is yours...

Plowing on the high side of third with a 756 even with a three bottom plow would be impossible in my area. We have very heavy clay. That looked fun!!!
I second that....... I'm in central MN. The clay rolls intact. His fresh turned fields look like my first pass with a disc.

In regard to the plugging. Get 3 pieces of#9 wire about 8 feet long. Tie them around the vertical shaft that the rolling Coulter is bolted to, and let the other end go out the back in front of the moldboards. That will pull the residue down so the plow doesn't plug.
Your lowing is perfect for what you require ,, In my neck of the woods every farm has offset discs ,,, the discs are scalloped ,, 2 passes and would be adequate ,,
Draft control is just for the 2 point arms,I pulled a 5 bottom 14 inch cut plow in low 4th TA ahead, man you are really turning it over and slamming it down 😀

Always loved looking for arrowheads after a rain on fresh plowed land. It is amazing what you can find. Do you find arrowheads on your land?
Too old to farm now but back in the day we would put a harrow on the field to break up the stalks before the plow. We would load the tractor so that the plow speed was slow. Something about taking significantly less fuel to plow the same acreage. I guess we had to save fuel somehow since we had to pay for the extra trip over the field to break up the stalks. Slower speed was a lot easier on our back as well.
I just chop em really good...yes speed is not easy on the body for sure

You only need to please your self, we would sharpen the colters with a hand grinder. Because if you’re not cutting the stalk in half you will plug up.wet stalks can be difficult to cut also . Jack from Illinois goeRed

I concur with utilizing speed to turn under corn. Did the same thing with my H & 2x14 Ollie plow over by a neighbor a few years back. Turned heavy corn trash under in 4th, 3/4 throttle or better. The stalks clear nice, but the rocks stick tighter.
Speed plowing in the spring is easy lol but try in the fall when ground is hard . Also dont need to be super deep in spring just get it fliped over . I have done a lot of investigations into the tillage tools and they all leave some kind of a compaction zone . Of which any kind of rolling tool such as a disk is the worst for compaction .
Nothing wrong with plowing shallow especially if you have good dirt. I actually plowed way to deep this year while plowing up an old pasture to reseed. You cause a lot more unnecessary stress on both your tractor and your equipment when you do that. Not to mention I have had a tough time trying to level off my field (part the reason I did this job to start with) I’m probably going to have to borrow my father in laws blade (I’m to cheap to buy one) and do some back blading to get it leveled.

a very nice intro about why we are free here in this country-thanks. now i have enjoyed ur channel for a long time-the auctions, etc., but take off the clip of blowing up the JD-ok. lol. now back when i was young i got to drive a lot of the old farmall's, i liked them a lot-they seemed to be better at starting then our old jd B's-all of them was hand crank tractors--so please don't disrespect another tractor -ok

Whatever turns your crank. Results are what counts. If you got the results YOU want, then you can rest easy at night. I don't know if you have your ground tested, but Landmark can test the soil for you I think. I don't believe International made a bad tractor series. I do believe some tractors weren't cared for like they deserved. Just neglected tractors. Nice tractors you've got.
We had windshield washer fluid put in our tires not corrosive not as heavy but works well
I found that taking the Colter's off made a big difference in the plow not blocking up when plowing corn under.

8" or 20cm is fine on a sandy soil. I plough a little bit deeper, 22-23 cm. But you could really use a 4 bottem roll over like mine 😂🔥BOOM 🔥

If you have draft control why the draft wheel?
I have issues with my H and its two bottom on a 3 pt conversion going too deep. I'm thinking I need to add a draft wheel of some kind. Using the hydraulics all the time to control it is a pain.
I raise the wheel all the way up if I'm using the draft control
Most people I know only plow or till 5 to 7 inches deep and that looks real good
I don't like to plow too deep because it brings up more rocks and brings up useless sub-soil to the surface. If I plowed that fast, I would hit a rock and break a whole bunch of stuff LOL

Why plow corn stalks lol.The crop rotation when we plowed was corn beans wheat hay pasture plowdown pasture then back to corn.Plow down was saved for old hay sod

I would plow about 4 to the 6 inches deep with draft control engaged. Mainly tried not to pull up more stones.
You mentioned tilling but that's not tilling, that's plowing.
It's a different implemental together.
Maybe a disc might work better for that.

I'm not sure you totally understand the way the international load and depth control works it is partly a weight transfer system to transfer weight from the front of the tractor to the rear wheels to improve traction it also correct plow death record in the soil conditions considering how heavy the soil type is

It's not the standard... It's fifty percent of the mold board that you are using... A sixteen inch mold board should produce an eight inch furrow
