@ i wasnt necessarily talking about the current transfer window tbh. It's going to be more like a long term replacement for Virgil once the season ends.
I like the idea of replacing Andy Robertson with Antonee Robinson. Their names are so similar, it feels like one of those psychological thrillers where someone gets replaced by a younger version of themselves
Has attitude, workrate and defensive issues. Class player on his day, but the bar for Liverpool is high and consistency is a requirement. He's also 27, so realistically 2-3 years left in his prime and no sell-on value. Put together, it's just not the profile Liverpool sign.
According to certain journalists, we should be happy with FSG woth no signings... we're 1 or 2 injuries (salah, van dijk, gravenberch...) from having serious weak points in the forst xi
Okay, so all we need is a VVD, Salah and Gravenberch clone.... Mate, every team is fucked if their best players get injured... You can't just have a VVD replacement in the back pocket...
I think we’ve probably got enough cover at cb. The concerns are a real no 9 as Jota is very injury prone and Darwin is a waste of space, and a left back. Tsimikas is too light on his feet and Robbo has been struggling this season. I like kerkez and Robinson. Both strong and playing very well. As far as a no 9, an average finisher but pacey player would smash 20 league goals a season. The wastefulness of Nunez is alarming. Hopefully the reds are over their blip of the last couple of games as I thought they did really well last night vs forest in the 2nd half.
i think the main issue is going to be fatigue. we're in four competitions again and we're already looking leggy. we're in an extended run now of playing fixtures every few days which is going to be pretty decisive. i don't really expect FSG to sanction any purchases. perhaps Nunez will leave. whether we'll see that money used, i'm doubtful.
While I do agree you could upgrade Robertson, it is also really important to look at the whole team and think who will do the dirty work, who will run no matter what, won't create drama and highly identifies with the club. Players like Robertson might never be the best you can have for the position solely on an individual quality standpoint but they are so valuable for the whole club aswell as team health. On top of that one criteria which is incredibly difficult to judge in the transfer suggestions is personality, does the player's character fit the squad or might create difficulties, sure that is then also part of the job of the manager to handle but if the upgrade isn't major then often it is better to stick with what you got and build up a young player who is easier to mold to what you need on the field and off the field or upgrade in summer where you got more time to integrate a player.
As much as I love Robbo, he's costing us regularly now defensively. At a certain point, if you're a club like Liverpool going for league titles and CL, you can't afford to keep beloved players just for the vibes. We also need our fullbacks to chip in with goals and be a direct goal threat with late man runs into the box, something that Robbo has never done successfully. When you have trouble with low blocks, it's a sign you don't have enough goal threat further back to stretch that block vertically. It's been a problem for ages, and top FBs in the modern era offer that threat. We need that in our side.
Hartman would actually be a great fit, he is the one player from Slots Feyenoord that could probably make the transition to PL because of his intensity. But yeah he is only now coming back after almost a year out, so not an option now.
Nottingham Forest are Jon McKenzie’s favourite team. Classic low block team that Liverpool struggled to break down last night even with all the chances.
I think that Bastoni would be a great fit for Liverpool but as a LB, because in Inzaghi's system that is basically the role he plays. Dimarco at LWB plays high up the pitch and playing Bastoni at LB in a back 4 wouldn't be much different than what he does in a back 3 at Inter. Not to mention he could also cover or completely switch to CB in the future if/when van Dijk leaves
Not sure he offers enough offensively to be a LB for us, but agree that he's a candidate for LCB. Getting him out of Inter would be hard though and a virtual impossibility in January.
Lille has second best goal conceding record begind PSG in Ligue 1.They are standing just in Konockout qualification stage at champion league table.Alexsandro Riberio would be perfect rotational player for Van dik.If we sign him in summer he would be joining in same age as Van dik joined Us in 2018.
But strange that LCB was identified yet Diomande - a rcb was chosen? I don’t think he’s better than Konate atm so wouldn’t be a sensible transfer in the near future. I think Liverpool need a forward more than an extra cb tbh
Milos kerkez is the LB we should be after. We also need a CB and desperately need cover for gravenberch before we burn him out as slot clearly doesn't rate endo. Even if we brought bajcetic back from his loan. If we can get them in this month we win the league and possibly the champions league, if we don't we're going to struggle in the run in just like last season
Since Slot doesn't seem to fully trust Endo or Morton Liverpool have been overly reliant on Gravenberch this season. So to fight for all trophies they would need someone to come in and challenge Ryan for that spot in january. Injury or dip in form would likely weaken the team if nothing changes
The problem is that he's integral to the way we play with his ability to receive under pressure, turn and carry and then pass. An underrated part of his game is his aerial prowess, which dissuades teams from going that route. This is a very unique profile and it would be hard enough to find another player even remotely similar, much less a) good enough to play instead of Grav, and b) be willing to sit on the bench behind him. This is not to say we should accept that he's irreplaceable and pray nothing happens to him while overplaying him, but it's a very difficult problem to solve. Let's hope our recruitment team has ideas about what to do here, because I don't.
Good analysis….but, suggestion, reduce the amount of arms waving around. Quite distracting😀 Other thoughts: - if TAA is to leave in the summer, leaving Conor Bradley at RB (young, talented, but inexperienced and won’t be able to play a full 50+ game season next year), will definitely need a back up RB . More pressing an issue than buying a 3rd LB. Yes, Gomez can play at RB, but not great. And no one particular is yet showing promise as a RB from the Reserves. - no Prem club will sell their starting LBs in January! - Fenway are the MoneyBall guys, they won’t spend over the odds in January …esp for a player they don’t immediately need- I suspect they’ll save their money (and Profit Sustainability headroom) until the summer when will know where they’re at with TAA, VVD and Salah. …. depending which of those leaves, that’s where the big holes will need to be filled, and with big $$
No way in a million years is Huijsen ready for 1st team football at Liverpool. He's green, inexperienced and would need years more of 1st team football experience. Ridiculous transfer link.
No chance Huijsen goes to Liverpool as an understudy. He's already one of the best CB's in the league and starts almost everywhere. They also paid 15m for him so why would they sell for less than VVD type money?
Need a top class LB. Robertson's legs have gone along with his in game judgment. Need a top striker to replace Nunez. Need a top class CB to replace VVD long term and rotate with Konate. Quansah/Gomez just not good enough.
Im curious if anyone knows, Is this the least amount of transfers a new manager has made in their first two windows? Its almost like they never expected Slot to stay and holding off buying players to suit his style. I know his style is kimd of Klopps style but even if klopp was still there, i would imagine they would have made more transfers or contract extentions.
@T.E.S.S. if you're referring to the second part, it's kind of dumb that you didn't realise that saying "they didn't expect him to stay", was sarcasm 😂
Kerkez valued at €28m? I read last week it was €60m for Manchester United. Hilarious, referees, media and the transfer market against us. Can't catch a break.

I think diomande would more or less immediately replace konate in the starting 11. Konate is good but always gets injured and seems to take ages to get back to the same level after injury
Transfers ? We don't do that here my friend.
Or contracts! lol
FSG have been riding their luck😂
you do a lot of whining tho, it seems
The war chest shall remain closed
Liverpool just threatens to do transfers and then someone else gets them
Jon without glasses looks kinda majestic
He looks like a sad AI. Haley Joel Osment's robot cousin.
Jonny Sin Lentes😂
Pep from temu 😂
Jon without glasses looks like a Premier League Manager 😂😂
Jorrel Hato - will cover us on both LB and CB
We will also need an attacking option who actually produce G+A, can't solely rely on Salah...
Problem is he’ll cost a mint cause Ajax tax but it’s more plausible than Antonee Robinson, who is a blueshite born and raised
Fm24 legend
We definitely do not need any attacking options.. we need CB and DM. Everything else is for the summer.
Yusss need a good finisher. There are lots of wasted opportunities.
I think we’ll go for Hato/Lukeba and Baleba in the summer
What about Murillo from Forest? Dude looks like the next big thing. He's young, strong, can pass long, shoot long, and is batshit crazy lmao.
Idk if Forest wanna sell in the middle of their amazing season tho
@@MerijnH true
@ i wasnt necessarily talking about the current transfer window tbh. It's going to be more like a long term replacement for Virgil once the season ends.
I'd prefer to go for Milenkovic
Forrest won't sell. Not for any realistic price anyway. He's not a baller anyway, so no improvement on Konate.
I like the idea of replacing Andy Robertson with Antonee Robinson. Their names are so similar, it feels like one of those psychological thrillers where someone gets replaced by a younger version of themselves
They look identical too.
Jason Statham works for the athletic fc now?
ROFL
Fast X: The Underlying Numbers
@@midamida915 Surely Fast XI?
Gutierrez is an excellent shout and probably the most similar to Robbo as well in terms been able to defend and go forward.
Unsure as to whether city football group would sell to Liverpool though
Thanks for doing more work than Richard Hughes has done all year.
Hope he's taking notes😂
Gravernberch and endo both did well at cb unfortunately. So stingy fsg will wait for 'the right opportunity '
its weird see jon without glasses 😂
I was thinking that Davies from Bayern would be a great LB choice, last 6 months of his contract there, so either free next season, or cheap now
Again, he's more of an overlapping full back though
Can't really defend and much like Frimpong he is really more a attacking fullback.
Hes also most likely off to madrid
Yes, he's "free" but the signing-on fee will be ridiculous. Players are running down their contracts for a 💰💰💰
Guttierez is a good shout and I know this because he was great in the one game I've seen him play (Girona vs Liverpool)
I really think Liverpool should try to push for Theo Hernandez.
Even though he's crazy talented, he still has tendency to lose focus. He's kinda like Trent
Has attitude, workrate and defensive issues. Class player on his day, but the bar for Liverpool is high and consistency is a requirement. He's also 27, so realistically 2-3 years left in his prime and no sell-on value. Put together, it's just not the profile Liverpool sign.
Richard Hughes prob can’t even close a free transfer
Doubt the lack of glasses will help Jon's view of Liverpool.
Tsimikas needs to be given a run of games to gel with the rest of the squad. He's capable, just needs to start more.
He's not at the level to be a regular starter. Has a major mistake in him every few games
He’s also pushing 30. Need some young blood in there. The defence has got kinda old.
He’s also too weak for the PL. he always gets outclassed by any opposition that is aggressive
Imagine a hincapie for Liverpool and a clinical striker since Darwin might leave
You guys should do a video on building the perfect team for a certain league or with a certain budget or something I feel like that would be cool
Or with a certain style of play and how the team would operate
Will city let gutierez go to liverpool?how bout a more defensive lb/cb to balance trent like hincapie or hato in january?
Very much agree on huijsen
Man City (Girona) are gonna sell Liverpool a full back?
No glass Jon been hittin different!
Put it back on! PUT IT BACK ON! A disturbance in space and time!
Won’t sign anyone and will drop off FSG masterclass
Slight problem with Miguel Gutiérrez is he's in the CFG. Would they sell to liverpool?
According to certain journalists, we should be happy with FSG woth no signings... we're 1 or 2 injuries (salah, van dijk, gravenberch...) from having serious weak points in the forst xi
Nobody thinks that, kid…also, everyone is an injury away from issues. As Rodri proved
Okay, so all we need is a VVD, Salah and Gravenberch clone.... Mate, every team is fucked if their best players get injured... You can't just have a VVD replacement in the back pocket...

We have cheap owners. No signings this month I reckon.

No way in a million years is Huijsen ready for 1st team football at Liverpool. He's green, inexperienced and would need years more of 1st team football experience. Ridiculous transfer link.
FSG bid for players they know won't sign . Reds should sign a quality versatile defender & midfielder this window .
I feel like a real CF to replace nunez would be huge

No chance Huijsen goes to Liverpool as an understudy. He's already one of the best CB's in the league and starts almost everywhere. They also paid 15m for him so why would they sell for less than VVD type money?
Please do more clubs outside England
Would like to see one for Dortmund
i saw andy robertson on the thumbnail and fully expected a jj video idk what this says about me
Need a top class LB. Robertson's legs have gone along with his in game judgment.
Need a top striker to replace Nunez.
Need a top class CB to replace VVD long term and rotate with Konate. Quansah/Gomez just not good enough.
John sounds smarter with glasses
Faaar too much hand movement lads. Looks very awkward. Solid video overall but please work on that.
Reminds me of the Mitchell and Webb skit about radar.
Very nice Jon. Can you do it again but with more energy?
Dortmund's Bensebaini for cb/lb cover
Not sure what the directive is here but Jon's delivery just feels wrong. He's not doing anything wrong but it doesn't feel like him.
the directive is: you've got 8 minutes so talk quickly
"it's about what we think clubs *should* do"
cue 30 seconds of talking about Hartman who isn't playing
Reconsider staring directly into the camera without glasses.
Why not address the CDM? Cleary he doesn’t trust Endo and Gravenberch is ran into the ground. This is a position we need ASAP
Can we get a Chelsea sensible transfers for once!? Been years
No DM signings😔
Liverpool are wasting way too many chances up front so a replacement for Nunez would be my priority.
Nah, we know FSG dont want spend his money.
diomande is that guy and i still like hincapié for left back.
God save me from analysts. What a loada bollocks. Those who can do, those who can't analyse.
A left back absolutely. A right sided CB though? Left sided surely.
And the club seem very keen to bring in another 6 and a striker.

We need Sensible Contracts not Sensible Transfers
FSG have been saving up for next summer every year since 2019.
Hmm… I seem to recall Liverpool rebuilding their entire midfield - signing sobo, Mac Alister, Endo and gravenberch - in a single summer.
