Heads up to anyone doing this on a windows - you may not be able to create a compound path from live text. You'll have to select the text and choose to "create outline" first by clicking command + O.

Hello I tried this and used the word Winning Gold for a friend, but when the word does not fit, it returns to another line, but with "Winn-" or similar. How can I do it in Illustrator, so the whole letter is filled with the Winning Gold and not separated. Thanks
Hi, awesome video. Was wondering how would i rescale the character with the font together. Everytime i try to do it the text inside changes(creates empty space if i make character bigger for example). Thank you
Unfortunately you will have to adjust the font size every time you rescale it. Another option is to select the character filled with text, then go to "Object" and choose "Expand" However after using this method you won't be able to edit your text. I hope this will help. Thank you for watching!
