    Every time I upload, I get several comments asking where I've been. I've been here. Uploading usually twice a month, once around the 15th, once around the 30th. I can only assume TH-cam notifications for subscribers aren't making it to y'all. I'm sorry about that. If I could fix it, I would. Only thing I can recommend is to tell y'all to hit the bell button and set your subscription to "always notify." I hate the thought of y'all missing the goods.

      For many, many months I have been a Subscriber with the selection bell set to notify me of all of your videos. And, with that, I have NOT been notified of all of your videos. Your channel is not the only one of my "notify me of all videos" subscriptions that I don't hear about. So, I then have to remember each of my subscriptions and check each one for the latest video even though I used TH-cam's method of ensuring that I know of new videos.
      I know videos such as yours take a lot of creativity, talent, time, money, and energy to produce. I would be happy to write the responsible person at TH-cam and let him/her know of my notification problem in order to attempt a change.

    "Rope" is based on the murder of the young heir to a fortune by two extremely rich intellectuals who just wanted to see if they could get away with it to prove their superiority.
    They didn't get away with it.
    Not a bad Jimmy Stewart imitation, MEF. And your USPS comment is brilliant.

      Spencer's tour de force portrayal of Darrow was indeed in the movie "Inherit the Wind."

  • @tranya327
    @tranya327 4 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    I was introduced to this movie many, MANY years ago, by Siskel and Ebert. Their commentary was helpful. It seems that Hitchcock's goal, was to make this movie appear as if it was •One...Long...(continuous)...Shot•. Film canisters at the time allowed for about 10 minutes or so of filming at once. When the production crew would reach the end-point of some portion of a scene, Hitchcock would have the Director of Photography focus, for a moment, on one of the actor's backs. The screen would momentarily go completely dark, and then the image would zoom out once again, and the scene filming would continue (with a fresh canister of film present). It was most helpful to have this explained to me, before seeing the film; otherwise you'd have a " (??!!?) WTF's that all about??" - reaction. I continue to enjoy your work, Jeb. Would you consider doing a Hayo Miyazaki film? (Totoro, or Kiki's delivery service)? :)

    This movie murder would have been recognized by movie goers as the Leopold and Loeb case. Two young, wealthy, college-educated men who were impresses by the book "Man and Superman." They were in fact homosexual lovers (so not just a Hollywood way of making them seem more evil). They killed a 14 year old boy just for the thrill of it. Their defence lawyer was none other than Clarence Darrow, whose defence goal was to save them from the death penalty. The decadence of the crime caused a media sensation.
