Alexis Massay performs the Pigua Short Stick.
The stick is among the most ancient and readily available weapons. Training should encompass various long, medium, and short lengths, including dual sticks and two-handed techniques, to cultivate a comprehensive understanding of all weapon forms. The Pigua Short Stick demonstrated by Alexis traces back to the Pigua Saber techniques taught by Grandmaster Liu Yunqiao of the Wutan Martial Arts Center. While lacking a guard and blade, the stick employs similar methodologies. The Pigua Short Stick features prominent aspects of Pigua palm techniques, incorporating serpentine footwork and body dynamics. Its motions-rotating, advancing, sweeping, and the ability to extend and retract like a whip-deliver a profound impact on the adversary.
