No matter how many times I listen to your rendition of this song, I keep falling back on the original from years ago for reference! You have this song, and all the others down to a science. Well done! 😎
WOW... You guys are KILLER! Me and my drummer friend have been working on learning/jamming-to some Cult tunes, and this song is one of the ones we've been playing. Your guitarist and drummer are especially great! Your cover has definitely helped me see the song in a different way. I'll fwd this to my friend and see what he thinks. He'll probably find it helpful to watch and see how your drummer plays the song. You guys sound better than The Cult nowadays! You can actually play the song in the original key -unlike Ian & Duffy now (whom play everything a 1/2 step down).

@@BrianRPaterson The Distrubed cover “The Sound of Silence” is best cover i know. The word and notes that Paul Simon wrote but the production, arrangement, tempo, phrasing, and performance are different and better and the original.
Well done. Big cult fan back in the day and having seen them live, the best cover of a band that is very hard to cover because of the unique details of their music.
The Cult are one of the most underrated bands from the late 1980's. After transforming from the post punk days to heavy metal, they really know what diversity is. Rockhouse can really rock just like The Cult did! Awesome cover!
Underrated? By whom? They were big, they had their fans, they were successful. And like any other band they had their ups and downs. But The Cult wasn't underrated brother!🤘🤨
I saw them in 1986 at an old theatre turned into a music venue. It was after the Love album. Met and snagged a young lass from Scotland who was following them on their tour. The next year saw them when they opened for Billy Idol. Didn't see me lovely Scottish crumpet, though . 😢
Its been said many many times. You guys ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The BEST in the business giving perfection in all you play! Vlad is an awesome Guitarist, what model Ibanez is that?
I played this in a cover band (1995). This band smokes it! All great players. I noticed near the end either there was an extra rhythm guitar part dubbed in or the keyboard player was doing guitar riffs. It didn’t sound live (but I’ve heard some impressive live stuff recently) but it sure sounded good. Thanks for sharing.
Goddam that sounds so good. I know you're not here to take requests, but I'd love to hear your take on She Sells Sanctuary. You guys are really talented and clearly love what you're doing. I love what you're doing more than just a bit myself.
Really decent cover. It's hard to nail Ian Asbury's vocals but you did an awesome job. Wish the guitar was a bit more jangly. Gotta get you one of those big Gretsch jazz boxes.
Play great, sounds like original track! Nice job from vocalist: high notes, shining emotions 🤩 Such an emotional song, why other faces are so russian, guys? 😐 Rock on! 🤘🏻
i remember driving down deerfoot - ripping the plastic film off, putting in the cd and being blown away by this effin song... the only two bands who took a heavier turn was skid row's 'monkey business' and pantera without the leotards...
You guys are awesome if you had the microphone and stand and danced around more just like the original and crawl upon the floor on the end like the video
WELL impressive, mates! You guys sounded just like the record. I am blown away. I’m an audio engineer, and am VERY impressed with the blokes at BIG Z Studios; they absolutely nailed this mix. Moreover, every last one of you is a consummate pro at your instrument. Obviously, nailing Ian’s unusual, gutsy, balls-out vocal tone is impressive, and has a tendency to stand out, but I was impressed from the first arpeggiated guitar chord. I was surprised you could get such a full tone from an Ibanez. Beautiful. Really, though, everybody was outstanding in this song. Everyone played a stellar performance, and if anyone WASN’T up to the others’ standards, it would have shown.
I guess it's only right if the next cover is Rainbow in the Dark or Holy Diver :D Apart from a tad too bright tone on guitar intro all of you have done absolutely great work (and I've listened to a lot of performances of that song for what it's worth…).
Great performance. Quick question: Why no STYX? The greatest rock band to come out of Chicago. "Sail Away", "Renegade", and "Mr. Roboto" or "Lady" would be great to cover.
@@ChicagoRockhouse I just sent the link to my buddy who is a huge Cult fan, we've seen the Cult live as recently as 4 years ago when they played the Chicago Theater and have seen them at the height of their popularity many times bank in the late 80's and early 90's. Great cover of an awesome rock classic and one of my favourites ever since I was 13 back in 1989.

Stop using the word underrated ffs. They've had their success, and they're not a heavy metal band. But these guys sure make it sound like 80s metal.
