3am here in East Tennessee, still having thunder and lightning but the rain stopped. We have had no wind or hail THANK GOD ! Our love and prayers are with all who were in this storm. Horrible !
I was hit by this while I was home alone since everyone else was in Nashville, definitely a bit traumatizing and I got storm anxiety from it lol, but it fortunately led to some good things happening

One would think after thousands of Storms and thousands of rebuilds of the electric grid that the power companies would learn to put the power lines underground.
our power was out for only about an hour,, and the tornado touched down and started tearing Clarksville up literally less than 2 full blocks from my house. We are more fortunate and grateful than many in our vicinity. we were really surprised to get electricity so quickly, especially considering ft Campbell Blvd from Tiny Town Rd all the way to Purple Heart Parkway is still completely dark. Just the other side of the Purple Heart Parkway heading towards downtown Clarksville, everything still has electricity and is open.
yeah, but then you gotta factor the costs of digging up the lines all the way just to find a break any time there is ever a power outage, vs. visually locating the source high up off the ground.
That is bad, all this damage. Power lines broken down, darkness. Tornado at december, is that normal ? Better build power lines in soil, no damage at next storm. Stay strong.
I find it so bizarre that the same areas of Middle Tennessee get repeatedly hit with very strong tornados year after year after year! If you are contemplating moving there, you probably should rethink it.
Ridiculous, I was at work and I didn’t even get to check in because my phone started beeping and alarming letting us know that we needed to go to our safety zone and stay put until it was completely gone over.
@@Poodleballin - Good to know. My wife and I just moved to Kingsport two years ago, but this doesn't seem to be anywhere near tornado alley. That doesn't mean they can't strike here, but I do believe it's been a long time since they've had one here.
@@Upshotr - That's interesting. I know in my own experience, they've always been during warm weather, but I guess if conditions are right, weather just does what it does. Thanks.
@@robinholbrook8296 Yeah looking at it, I saw the Happy Panda restaurant so it looks just south of the main base gates. Hopefully everyone got to safety.
@@robinholbrook8296Except where w3 live is about 5 miles from Oak Grove, and 2 blocks up our street is completely blocked off and where a lot od houses took damage, we heard and felt the tornado rumble by, had a small pear tree in my neighbor's yard get uprooted and landed across the street on the neighbor's front porch.. further down the road houses with no roofs taken completely off. It initially started and touched down around Whitfield Rd. & Britton Springs Rd, and ran a path all the way down Tiny Town Rd to Exit 1 on I-24. Oak Grove,KY is about a 15 minute drive doing the speed limit from where the tornado touched down.
@@dindjarin559 I lived there in 1985 in Oakgrove. The only store was small grocery store. No other stores for many many miles and that long strip of Hwy.

Tornados can happen anytime of the year just more prevalent in spring and summer
This area was hit hard 2 years ago almost to the day. This is actually the time of year I’m most scared of in TN.
It was a dip in the Jetstream from Canada that caused cold and warm from the gulf to slam into each other that caused this.

Tornado hit Oakgrove which is town as you leave base. You leave gate and that is the town if Oakgrove. So might have. Tornado was real close.

less than a mile from Gate 3 at least. The Burger King and leveled strip mall with Luigi's pizza is nearly half a mile from there.
