great video, just booked my first liveaboard on manta queen 1, 4d4n. cant wait! what camera/equipment are you using underwater? any filters or underwater lights? footage is great
@@jackhopkins9618 thanks! You’ll have an amazing time… this is quite an old video - I think GoPro Hero 6, no lights but a red filter… I’ve upgraded a bit since then!
@@GlobalSwans yes, looking forward to it! I’ve recently bought a gopro 12, so was wondering how I can achieve similar looking footage for my trip. I also bought some filters too
@@jackhopkins9618 I use a GoPro Hero 12 which I use for some B-roll… personally I don’t use filters and instead I use native white balance and adjust it afterwards - but it’s more work that way!
Was actually just looking at a Manta Queen diving and trying to get a feel for the experience, so this is perfect! Diving looks incredible here, loving the Richelieu Rock diving especially. Also sweet drone shots.
Yes definitely make sure whichever one you pick includes Richelieu Rock, the Manta Queen boats are great - pretty basic (actually they've been renovating some of them since we filmed this, so maybe less basic) but for the money, it was the best week ever!
Great video. Can you compare this dive trip with the Scuba Junkie Komodo in terms of diving, accomodation, food etc? We are looking into next summer's trip. Looking forward to your videos
D Ting - it was an amazing experience, great fun and some of our favourite diving. Accommodation - it’s a liveaboard, and manta queen boats are definitely quite basic, it’s a working dive boat rather than a cruise (if you want the very best boat/accommodation I’d check out scubaspa in Maldives). What it lacks in luxury in more than makes up for in fun with great guides and tons of other divers. Food is good but basic fare and there’s always a good selection but it’s not a fine dining experience ;) in terms of diving, there isn’t the current of Komodo, or quite the variety of dive conditions and sites but there are some magical dives especially Richelieu rock - that really is right up as one of the most spectacular sites we’ve done anywhere the quantity and variety of marine life is out of this world, even a chance for Mantas and whale sharks on the same dive as sea horses and giant schools of fish blocking out the sun. Similan Islands are great and Khao Lak Scuba Adventures are hugely fun operation to dive with but you won’t get all the luxury escape feeling like Komodo. Rental gear is also great. We have heard that they are in process refurbishing boats too. For us it’s on our short list for DM due to the number of clients and courses they also run, but my front runner is by far Scuba Junkie Komodo - love that place ;)
Susan Fraser I’m there... just behind the camera lens instead of in front of it! Alex hates diving with a camera - there is at least one clip of me though!
Do you love diving? We do! Let us know which is your favourite dive spot in the world, we'll be sure to add it to our list!
