I was quite happy with baby shampoo or spit as defog, until I tried the Stream2Sea defog! Peeps hear about the brand for the sunscreen but the defog and the leave-in conditioner are the real rock stars imo.
I see you love Huish Outdoors stuff!! I am the same way!! Running a B-2 on a long hose set up with an ST-35 as my primary BCD, Venom frameless for my also gorilla face, hollis DSMB and of corse Bare wetsuit 😅love their products!!
I use a regular semi soft suitcase for checked bag rather than labelled dive bag. And on a dive trip I take two dive computers in case one fails I'm still good for the rest of the trip. And of course my GoPro with a video light, it's important for me to film to remember and review. And I take nitrox and CO analyzer.
Recently moved to the ST22 VERY happy with performance and appreciate all to content you and your team put out. I’m ok with squashing my AQ+ into my bag; but I am curious how the Accel fins performed. Thanks!
James, you may want to verify that the airport on Utila is open. When I was there in May they were saying that they were going to close it as it was in poor condition. Only in/ out was going to be the ferry.
Here at South China Sea we never dive colder than 28c 😆 never had to bring wetsuit. But places we go are so remote we usually pack it to hand carry backpack size.
@@DiversReady Allways dive save being a cave and wreck diver can be dangerouse dont need to be unsafe or foolish about it, thats how great divesites get closed to the public... Such as Eagles Nest to name one..
James, I too have a Gorilla face. I have a large deep brow, large nose, cheeks. Been looking for a new mask. Seems most mask the glass bottoms out on my brow and can't get close enough to seal against my cheeks. Any suggestions?
Apologies if you've covered this previously but why do you not pack your regulator in a checked bag? I would think clothing would make sufficient padding where the risk of damage would be minimal.
Only if your checked bag is sardine packed and nothing move Or else anything that move will potentially damage regulator, especially 1st, 2nd stage and spg crashing into each other... Also there is risk of lost luggage, and your $500 regulator gone 😕
No. Of course it would be protected from damage, but that is not the concern. If I show up for a dive trip with my regs and my computer, I can rent the rest of my gear if my checked luggage gets lost. I don't like rental regulators.
Why do you put the less fragile things in the hard Pelican case for checking? The neoprene and backplate would be fine in a soft case wouldn’t they? Why does the distance of the flight determine hard vs soft case?
Hey James. Thank you very much as always! One question: do you never take a compass or is it integrated in your divecomputer? Keep up that great content love to see your smiling face
Good clip again but feel sad because in my part of the world the monsoon is starting and my dive trips are limited to day dreams for a few months. Keep up the good work Jamesy. Love the awesome maps.
One thing caught my attention is “you never check-in your regulator” any particular reason? I believe a lot of airlines don’t allow regulators in the cabin
yep, carry-on is my first choice, no time wasted on waiting checked luggage. Carry less, especially with budget airlines that charged on checked luggage😎
@@rifky3536 especially with the shape the airports are currently in. Even if the airline charges you for a carry-on, it's worth it to go carry-on only for the convenience alone. As divers, the struggle is fitting all the gear you want to take, and figuring out what to leave behind and rent at your destination.
I'm sitting here watching the early part of the video asking myself, "Self, where did he get that cool map?" and as if on queue you tell us where they came from. I was wondering if you just had handwriting that good and did them yourself.
Look forward to G1 descent review! Would be really great if can compare with Suunto D4i Novo, in terms of the algorithm for NDL. I wore both 2 weeks ago, and G1 is super conservative, like 8 mins vs 17 mins on 28m depth.
Because hold bags get thrown around, squashed, trodden on, lost and generally abused. It's safer to carry your regs in your carry on bag so they don't get damaged. It's no fun to arrive at your destination to find that your regs have been damaged or re-routed to Helsinki!

I am going to Roatan Honduras in August. Can't wait.
you nailed it again. I am headed to Bonaire in Dec. But still warm there. Stay healthy and keep diving.

We did! Thank for your support!
really recommend you guys to dive in Raja Ampat, truly magnificent✨

Thanks, James. Heading to Roatan in August for a trip aboard the Roatan Aggressor. Very helpful video.
Have Fun!, Dive Safe.
Very educational. I was totally unaware there was diving in anything other than warm water. 🙄🤔

James, were you ever an instructor in the early 90s in Gozo by any chance, you do look familiar !!

It would be really impressive if you did this without checking a bag (carry-on only)

Why can’t you pack your regulator in ur checked luggage
Why do we never check in our regulators? Am I missing something here ?
Why should you not pack regulators in your check-in baggage?

why never hold carry regs? tip: whenever you say 'never', might wanna expand on it then and there, unless you wanna be purposely mysterious
