I was born into the Lutheran church, but learned about the Orthodox church from my grandfather who was born in Russia from a Finnish mother and a Swedish father. I used to be a Christian and then went down the rabbit hole of the JQ and now I am totally blocked in my heart and cannot worship and pray for Jesus anymore because Jesus was a Jew( and so all the earlier saints/ christians). I try to psychologically imagine Jesus as the Krist of Hyperborea and Atlantis ( as it seems the Bible writers stole the myth from Krist) and Krist is more in line with my indigenous European ancestors gods but I still can’t open my heart anymore.

It’s always bothered me because I feel it’s very American. While our brothers and sisters suffer so greatly, we believe we’ll be raptured before it gets so bad here. That never sat well with me. I’m new to learning about orthodoxy but it is making sense.

I'm from the understanding that the pretribulation rapture is wishful thinking. Many here in America disagree with me however it's easy to see after reading the Bible that there's no pretribulation rapture. We all must go through terribly hard and difficult times in order to spend eternity with God
I partly agree. We do not know the time or the hour but we do know the season. Matthew 24:32-33, Luke 21:30-31. For the end to come two key things must have taken place based on what Jesus said. 1) The gospel has to be preached to all the nations and all the people. 2) Israel has to be restored as a nation. Then the physical plagues will come as the nations will reject Christ. Remedial judgments to urge them to rethink their error. Then things will get really bad. The four horsemen of the apocalypse will ride. Will the temple be rebuilt physically? My estimation is that it will. Satan wants to imitate God as we can learn from many examples in the Bible like Exodus. So a physical manifestation of a false messiah to mislead the multitudes is quite plausible. Will we be raptured? We already suffer now together with all our persecuted brothers and sisters. And if we do not suffer now than to what extent are we really Christian? The Bible shows us the rapture in many stories before God unleashes His wrath. Noah's ark. The angels leading Lot and his family away before the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah. Does Luke 17:26-30 also not refer to this? To me it is very clear that we are nearing the end of the world. The word of God says it is time. The Bible is clear that the end will come some day. The beginning of the end started on Golgotha. Someday we will return to God. Whether through death or through rapture is not up to us. The question is will we be ready when it comes. We must always be ready to die in order to live.

Father by staying house bound due to health reasons ie spinal fusion constant app with specialist for cancer.i enjoy watching utube on your self & saints I'm trying to find my way to heaven by following our spiritual laws I'm week at fasting but I try I feel embarrassed father but I haven't been to church regualy because of my lazines were I just like being in sweat pants because iv my pain.i prey I talk to Christ but I have this fear I will loose my soul that's why I whant to come to mount athos confes & hopefully be guided in the right path so I may receive holly communion. I'm not a bad or evil person but I did stear away from God & now I'm trying my hardest to get his acceptance thank you for hearing me father keep up the good work one soul at a time

If you‘re spooked because people claim that the world will end because of the solar eclipse , then I implore you not to worry.
From what I‘ve heard these people believe that a solar-eclipse somehow heralds Christ‘s return.
If what I‘ve heard is the full truth, then you don‘t have to worry about these people spreading panic, they are sewing chaos for the sake pf sewing chaos.
