    At first I thought: "I don't think the chorus is that catchy", then I went downstairs to cook dinner and I started humming it. Yep, it's catchy.

    I’m in Edmonton, I lived a weird unbelievable passionate life and I love so many genres so I want to learn enough music theory hacks from you two and eventually make music that moves me the way my favorite bands music moves me.
    I’m still so young I’m 33, and am trying to start a second life now. A good one. I love music. But I want people to feel connected to me, and connected to life with my music. I call it “the woman from earth synth pop”

      Hey arthurmee, great to hear from you again! Hope you've been well.
      Yes, Maria is amazing!! We love her artwork, so she pretty much does all the covers for our singles.
      How goes your music making?
      Have a great weekend and happy songwriting! Kate :)

    • @arthurmee
      @arthurmee 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes thank you Kate, I am. well. I like all the artwork you've used, although this one is definitely my favourite Please pass on my appreciation to Maria. Music making wise, am very busy rehearsing a set with a band in preparation for some Christmas gigs, so have been very busy with that. I have been taking advantage of your music hacks though particularly those, related to composition and using the wonderful Reaper. Hopefully when the Christmas rush is over, our gigs will probably more spaced out leaving more time to compose . Keep up the great work you and yours are doing. :-)

      @HackMusicTheory  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi arthurmee! Please forgive me for my late response. We moved cities, all while doing daily videos, so it's been a bit crazy around here! How are your Christmas gigs going? I'm super excited to hear that you'll have some more space to compose in the new year, how exciting!! Please do let me know how you get on. Thank you, as always, for your support, and we wish you the happiest of holidays. Kate :)

    • @arthurmee
      @arthurmee 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      No problem Kate. The gigs are going well thanks. Looking forward to dropping the Christmas songs soon though LOL. Yes am hoping some time will appear for me in the new year to at least put down some song ideas in basic form that only exist in my mind at the moment. Love watching the composition hacks as ever. There's not a lot of this kind of stuff on TH-cam of this quality that I've come across . Thanks again.

    • @HackMusicTheory
      @HackMusicTheory  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh I can't imagine playing Christmas songs over and over, so good for you! Sounds like you've already started one of the most important steps in making music, conceptualizing! We're so happy to have you in our community, arthurmee, and thank you for your kind words. K

    First of all, I love tea more than you do. Second of all, great channel. I'm quite glad that I found you guys. I'm from Mumbai,India and I'm trying real hard to make it as a musician but it's kinda hard as the whole scene is pretty much dominated by Bollywood and my intention is to make more art oriented music rather than commercial stuff so I'm working towards becoming an independent artist. I'm currently learning Indian classical which is a bit more vast than the western music theory although I find your ideas relatable as playing the guitar has always been my first love. Hopefully someday I'll start a channel of my own and school you guys on some Indian classical theory :p hehe. P.S: That's my style of saying THANK YOUUUUUUUUUUUU!!! :D

    I’m from Orlando, FL and as of now I am doing all the research I can to be a better writer. I used to do music and ppl loved it but I stopped recording and writing for 8 years and now I’m getting back into it but this time I want to do it at my full potential. I have wrote to much in 3 months and only have 3 songs because I kept rewriting them to make them better and better. I think I am ready good at rapping but I am working on getting better with my melodies, fully finding my voice/style. My specialty is deep emotional type stuff but I can also write trap type and funny type so I want to be multi dimensional with different sounds. Soon I will be recording what I have and when I’m ready to knock it put at the studio and will go from there. Some will love some will hate I just want ears no money. Lou RIEL(Rebel in every level)

      Hey Dale, I realize I never got back to you, we moved cities and started our crazy Christmas challenge, so please forgive my late response! Thanks so much for sharing about yourself and hello to you in Kentucky :) That's awesome that you're working on your first album, we're cheering you on 100%! And we're so glad that we can be of service to you and your music through our videos and books.
      With regards to what we use to make music, we use also use ToonTrack EZ Drummer, as well as their Dream Pop expansion. Then for fancier synth sounds, we use Massive, which is truly Massive (not just a clever name haha!), although this probably wouldn't be something you would use in rock/metal... unless you're making music like "Age of Rising", which this video is based on! The bass guitar VST we use is Native Instrument: www.native-instruments.com/en/products/komplete/guitar/scarbee-jay-bass and the piano we use, which is absolutely gorgeous and we highly recommend it, is: www.native-instruments.com/en/products/komplete/keys/the-grandeur. Our DAW, as you probably know is Reaper, which is awesome! Let me know if there's anything else you want to know.
      Lastly, we would absolutely love to have you in our Patreon party! We will be announcing some exciting offerings soon, so stay tuned for that :) Alrighty, I'll leave it there for now! Take care and talk soon, Kate :)

    • @francissreckofabian01
      @francissreckofabian01 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, thanks. I'm about to try it now. I have a C minor & a C Minor 7th to start with. In Australia, we have a brand called Bushells which as been around forever. I find, over the years, I am adding more and more tea leaves. I like it strong and I don't like coffee. I lke herbal teas. I've been drinking Camomile for centuries. Of course, Green & Jasmine tea. And I have experimented with things Russian Caravan tea, Oolong, Pu-erh & white tea amongst others. Tea is how I hydrate instead of just water. Do you have any recommendations? Always like to try new things.

      Awesome!! Let us know how it goes :D
      I like your comprehensive list of tea, it's great! And yay, for hydrating with tea! I love drinking Chamomile before bed. One of my favourites is a combination of peppermint and liquorice...which is what I'm drinking now :)

      Hey Oliver, great to hear from you again! Awesome question ;)
      Ray likes his yerba mate/green/mint blend and I drink mostly a mint/liquorice blend or earl grey with soy milk. How about you?
