I'm thinking this story must be in one of the two novels, Long Story Short or Short Story Long, which are being localized by Viz Media in North America this year and early next. The first book will be published in North America this October. :)
In one of the novellas she pretty much only calls him Nines. When she calls him that in the castle it initially comes across as comedic banter but it was actually a slip up because she had been so accustomed to calling him that. He is always her "Nines" to her even if he can't remember when they've been much closer in the past. She tries to resist getting close to him again, but she never can maintain that for long.
Props to Kira Buckland. Her tone, when she reads: "I want him... I mean- I'm sorry" tells that 2B was very embarrassed to say her true feelings about 9S to 9S or a total stranger since she represses her feelings all the time before her death and rarely talks about anything unless it's related to a mission. Emotions were always prohibited, but even 2B had some hiccups. :(

After you've finished up the novellas, check out Kyle McCarley's (9S) get together with the voice actors when they read translations of passages from the concert.
At first I thought this was just put in to up the angst. While 2B gradually showed more emotion towards 9S, for the most part, she was fairly aloof and their relationship just felt short to me. It was only until after Route D that it made sense. It's been awhile since I've cried playing a video game.
it was pretty obvious that her aloofness was mostly just an act. I thought it was odd how in the prologue when they first met and 9S got swatted by the goliath 2B lost her shit and her composure instantly cracked - that's not how someone acts towards a person they just met. Thats when i realized that she cared for him and there was more to their relationship.
I missed this in game sadly....just as the 2B recording started I just started getting this heavy feeling in my chest, getting teary eye'ed a second after... I just don't even know how I feel anymore...I dont want to their love story is just too cruel....what a cursed cruel fate PS: damn you, mister Yoko Taro for breaking my heart yet again
I wonder how many people have played all the way through A through E and still didn't realize there's a lot more to the relationship between 2B and 9S that occurred within the game. In the in-game dialogue could come across as 2B is just teasing 9S by calling him "Nines" and then taking it back, but in the novellas set prior to the game it's very clear there was quite a bit of meaning behind that nickname and shows they were much closer than initially suggested from what you see in the game. Slowly piecing together the truth made so many things I'd already seen in the game become so much more clear, such as why the stoic 2B instantly falls to pieces emotionally when there is any threat of 9S losing more of his memories over even a short span of time and why she attempts to steer him away from learning more about YoRHa.

It’s hilarious that the “trailer” that plays if you’re idle in the main menu for too long basically spoils the entire game. More than half of the scenes are from the end. It’s just completely out of context so at the time I guess it’s not actually a spoiler
i remember just casually finding this, right after a huge ass mental breakdown because i got platinum trophy right, in the moment 9s mourns 2B and kind of " plants" the stick with a piece of her cloth i stayed in that cave for 15 minutes just crying in real life, then i got out, and started randomly go around the map for no reason beacuse my mind was completely broke and blank so yeah that's the moment i heard this....i looked at the monitor crying even, tho no tears were coming out 'cuz i had no more left, for i don't even rember how much time, it felt like eternity Yokotaro i hate you for doing this to me but i also love you for doing this to me
On the real tho, this scene made me cry because 2B never admitted it straight to him... she kept it secretly until her end. Never loved androids so much before. I want to hug them all.
why does 2B look for 9S black box? She is just supposed to kill him so he doesnt uncover the truth from what i understand. Cant they just make another 9S with backup from a few hours ago?
2B wouldn't have had time to write this message when she was dying. That means she probably either recorded it before the battle in case it all went wrong or as a suicide note...

i know that but probably both of them were just like that more sensitive and kinda cute but after so much happened to them like 2B always killing that one person and all those things that happened to A2 made both of them change they way they behave
