I only just noticed the fact that on top of the alarm, Pryce got a ton of locks after Nacho broke in and robbed him. And Nacho still got back in anyway 😂

Locks aren't an illusion, but they're only effective against honest people with no intention to steal or unlawfully enter.
Pryce having a whole new expensive security system and three extra locks on his front door, while leaving the sliding glass door in back unlocked is hilarious 😂 so on brand for the character

Prolly not unlocked, but easy to jimmy. That's how Nacho got in the first time, and Pryce still didn't learn.
Reminds me of the Simpsons scene where Mr. Burns goes through multiple security and at the end there's a stray dog inside with a broken door.
I think there probably were also expensive locks on the back door. They were probably just easier to defeat than the ones on the front.

I like how Nacho very confirmed to Pryce that he WOULD threaten him if he didn’t comply by just ignoring the question and telling he will pay $20k for the pills. He doesn’t WANT it to come to that but his father’s life is on the line and he will get those whether he asks or not.
Positive motivation. Anyone with any life experience will tell you it always works better than threats

Unfortunately, the character can't rope-a-dope because his gullibility was already proven with the baseball card fiasco.
"I'm not here for your baseball cards" is a nice parallel to Mike's "I'm not here to threaten your family" at Nacho's dad's auto shop.

Mike and Nacho definitely knew how to break in and disable alarms.
Pryce has tons of locks on his door but has shitty glass windows so yeah.
We see him literally walk outside through an open back door.

Fun fact is that the sound for Daniel's alarm in this scene is used in heart monitoring equipment, notably when cardiac rhythm is getting dangerously erratic. Goddamn that sound brings me back to some rough times...
...I just realized the possibility that the sound design was intentional. Daniel is an (unknowing) conspirator in Nacho's plan to kill Hector via a heart attack; if they picked that sound effect specifically because of that, that's some crazy devotion to detail from the Foley artists.

Interesting that Nacho chooses to go with the carrot here. He probably could have just as easily leaned on their history to threaten him into compliance and thus would have saved himself the need to pay anything. But his desperation is such that he’s taking the softest route. It does look like he’s still somewhat threatening him at the end though. I also appreciate the subtle nod to the fact that Pryce has learned something from all this as he immediately goes to Mike for help.
20k is nothing for a man like Nacho. Threatening Pryce could go wrong in many ways (remember how dumb he was and how he went to the cops and all).

Pryce shows just a hint of intelligence here.
Hes actually pretty smart. A dumb criminal, but very clever. Manages to get away stealing pills (in sealed factory bottles) for a while. Also has a high paying pharma job.

2:40 i just noticed how big Pryce is compared to Nacho. Either Nacho is shorter than I thought or Pryce is a very tall dude.
Why doesn't Nacho buy those same sealed capsules as Hector using from pharmacy, and empty the content then refill them with the placebo? No need to waste 20k here.

yes they did so many deals in the past he probably just got the same amount or even more specific the amount from the RND request was probably all he needed and he assumed that is the specific amount to go unnoticed so asking for an exact count was pointless

@@Dilllonm Ironically asking for a huge amount is likely to be less suspicious. Like if Pryce asked for 10, that's a little specific. But something like "yo I need 10,000 in bulk shipments" no one would care. (Reminds me of one of the Batman movies where they did the same thing).
Why not ask for the cards back
We all know someone like Pryce dont we? And its funny that its true.
Badly written scene, he never mentions how many capsules he wants, so how can anyone answer whether they can get them all.
He says he will "have some samples diverted." Samples could easily range in the hundreds or thousands, especially if it's just empty capsules. Companies like the one Pryce work for deal in bulk amounts, not individual. And frankly, that's how you avoid suspicion. No one is going to question some IT guy at a company ordering a sample size of 1,000 or so. But if he orders exactly four, that's odd.

Plus to add to your comment, large order of sample size for R&D makes more sense if you intend to really steal just a coupe of hundred max for your job - Hector at best has once a day prescription + úse for emergency etc. type of things, so at best you need his heart meds to not be effective for a couple of months before the dude croaks, which he roughly speaking, almost did.
Far easier to justify 100-200 missing capsules from bulk order of thousands, than you order 300 and 200 goes missing lol.

Nacho specifically said he needed the pill capsules empty, before they are sealed. Pryce did say you could get them via drug store, but they're already sealed.
