Five little errors I noticed since I'm absolutely obsessed with this game:
Donna works at Flora's flower shop! You learn this during one of the quests during Mondstadt where you have to go buy from her
Flora is actually canonically an adult, and her flower shop is a legit store. There just happen to be short adults in Genshin (I think we all *really* know why, considering 98% of them are women...)
Anna *is* severely ill, like you said, but she's actually also canonically only a teenager! When you do her quests, she's referred to as a "child." (Edit: She also becomes an adventurer after you finish her quests and cure her illness, which is also in line with other canonically-older-teens like Fischl!)
Sansa actually *is* employed as a bard. In Teyvat, anyone with that title is canonically employed
Herman actually *is* retired. There's no minimum retirement age
I also think you missed a few people/buildings (like Timaeus and Sara, and the people in the Cat's Tail), but you may have just cut them out. It also would have been cool to see you factor in the playable characters, or even characters in Mondstadt but outside of the city. I get how those could have taken way longer tho
Anyway, great video! I'd love to see more!! :3
Edit: Either fellow Genshin fans are doing their usual “No she’s short so she must be a child!!!” like they love to do with Diona, Sayu, Nahida and Dori, or they’ve once again changed Mondstadt’s story, because when I played through it was explicitly stated that Flora is an adult. Who knows. This game is an absolute nightmare when it comes to getting a straight answer because of how much the English translation teams fucks everything up and how much fans love to deny canon ages, lol

13:46 it’s actually really funny that you noticed how empty the city feels bc there’s an actual in-lore explanation for this: Varka, the grandmaster of the knights of favonius actually took a huge percentage of the knights out for an expedition before the events of the game take place so the population is a lot smaller than it normally is LMAO

I do have to wonder how the playable characters factor into this. Unlike Pokémon, where the Gym Leaders hang around, in Genshin, you can only really talk to the playable characters during the main plot or seasonal events, so Mondstadt resident characters like Acting Grand Master Jean and the Librarian Lisa might need to be discussed separately.

Some corrections I'd like to point out regarding the statistical data collected in the video:
-Mondstadt does have a unique and popular export industry of wine.
-The employment rate of Mondstadt should be subject to change considering the playable characters like the members of knights the knights of favonious (eg: lisa, jean, albedo etc.), the dawn winery owner (diluc), more nuns (barbara, rosaria) etc.
-The interior of "cat's tail" where several other npc's and diona (another child) needs to be considered in the data collection.
Ps: Regardless of these details, it was an entertaining video to watch and a unique topic for a video. Especially considering the popularity of the game which would lead one to assume all the best video topics have already been covered by now. I usually skip through many videos but managed to watch this till the end without even having known this creator before or having any preference for their videos. It was fun.

the game itself is very alive, so people move around a lot (like you saw with Six-Fingered José) so i feel you may have missed a few people aside from the ones I already saw mentioned by others. specifically, i'm thinking of the nun in white who is the wife and mother to the father and child inside the church and of the knight-in-training beside the knights of favonius headquarters.
also i'd like to point out that Patton (man outside Angel's Share) is not technically employed. if you talk to him a little more, you'll find he's in more of an indentured servitude/forced labor situation under the playable character Diluc for accidentally breaking a vase.

Before (on the official released version) (during earlier version of the game) there was an NPC outside Mondstadt that talks about his admiration for Flora. Then some players who noticed it are starting to call out the situation to Hoyoverse because Flora has a child body model. Then a video comparison for Genshin Impact's pre release (beta) vs released version came which shows Flora had a grown up body model before. Some players (who had access the pre-released version) commented about the lack of diversity for body model for NPCs, so Hoyo decided to change the body model of some existing NPCs (maybe they did it ramdomly bacause there is a scholar named Ella Musk who are studying Hilichurl's language that has a child body model also.) Now what I know the NPC's dialogue who talks about Flora was changed.

A few notes from a Genshin addict:
Albert the nun stalker is actually stalking a teenage girl nun, Barbara. The hot nun Mem was likely talking about is named Rosaria, and dresses like a hooker. lol
There are playable characters that don’t show up on the overworld but definitely live in Mondstadt. Barbara, Rosaria, and a leaked character all work at the church, and the god/Archon of the nation would fall under your definition of unemployed as a drunk troublemaking bard. Amber, Kaeya, Lisa, Sucrose, Jean, Noelle, and Eula are all employed by the Knights of Favonius. There’s also a cartographer named Mika, but he and the large majority of the KoF are off on a long-term expedition, so they probably wouldn’t count for the survey as itinerant people.
There’s a Chief Alchemist of the KoF named Albedo, but his status as a homonculus with an identical clone also running around the city leaves his un/employment eligibility unclear. In the same vein, Katheryne is a robot that also runs the Guild’s commission system in every other major city.
The other tavern, the Cat’s Tail, isn’t accessible anymore, being overwritten by an interdimensional trading card clubhouse. Another playable character, Diona, works at this bar, but she probably lives in the neighboring town of Springvale with her father. Said clubhouse is the workplace of Saint, a non-talking cat, and Shuyun, his translator.
Another playable character, Mona, is a broke astrologist, and works both as an astrologist for hire and as a columnist for a newspaper from another region.
Bennett is an adventurer, but it’s unclear if he’s a kid doing it for fun or if he’s getting paid. The adventurers all co-parent him (co-babysit?). Another girl, Fischl, is a LARPing book series fangirl that I believe also works for the Guild, but again it’s unclear whether or not she actually gets paid.
Boosting the population numbers, Klee is a child Knight of Favonius that gets babysat, so definitely not getting paid.
So an additional 13 employed individuals and 17 total population, with the exclusion of Katheryne and the Albedo twins. Love your and Mem’s videos, and hope you analyze other cities in Genshin! The NPCs can be pretty silly, it’s fertile ground for this series in my opinion.

I doubt Albedo's homonculus status matters here. He's considered a citizen of Mondstadt as much as anyone else, so he should be counted as usual. Venti also probably *technically* counts as a citizen??? But is definitely NOT employed. He pretty intentionally tries to be the single most unemployed person there.
It is canon that official members of the adventurer's guild do get monetary compensation for commissions they take, and both Fischl & Bennett seem to fairly exclusively do commissions for the guild. For Bennett it's probably close to the equivalent of growing up doing work for your family's company until you can legally get on the payroll. And since we know the lack of child labor laws in Mondstadt, I think it's safe to assume they'd both count as employed as much as any other adventurer.
They also didn't even touch the remaining aristocracy, whose employment status seems to change every episode. The Lawrence and Gunnhildr clans are definitely still rich but it's unclear if they're actually making money off of anything or are invested in any businesses? I feel like if they're just sitting on old money it shouldn't count. (And we can't count *all* of their members obviously, but we do know a few names from both.) I don't think being sponsored by the Fatui via collusion really counts as employment either?
I'd love to see them do more Genshin cities but they're also inevitably going to miss sooo much and the comments section is going to be filled with paragraphs of corrections like this. Good for the algorithm though I guess.

"In conclusion, Mondstadt's current economic situation is likely unsustainable."

Your report says "There is no single unique industry or export in Mondstadt", but that's false. Mondstadt is known in all of Teyvat for its wine industry. I'm appalled at how little actual research went into this report. D:
