An amazingly important question that neither Coolmusic nor any of the reviewers I've seen is: What do I do when the battery dies (i.e. can no longer be charged)? Older portable amps used standard sealed-lead-acid batteries (SLAs) that have been sold for decades and will probably be sold for decades to come. SLAs die after three years whether you use them or not. My old Crate Taxi amp, for example, makes replacement easy: unscrew a few screws, disconnect the standard battery connectors, take the old battery out, put the new one in, reconnect the connectors, screw the cabinet back together. My questions for Coolmusic, which are not answered in their manuals, are: 1) What specific batteries you use in your amps (exact models)? 2) Is the amp built in such a way that I can easily replace them? 3) Where I can buy replacement batteries? 4) What are the prospects for these batteries still being sold many years or even decades from now?
Hi Dave...you raise some very important questions about the rechargeable battery which I don't have the answers to but hopefully if you contact CoolMusic they'll answer them for you. You can use the battery lead provided and use like a normal amp but it's the portability of the amp I love. To be honest with the amount of gigs we do if I only got 3 years out of it I would still then buy another as it's made such a massive difference in space, time and weight to when we do our gigs but I'll post again if/ when I ever have any battery issues...thanks again for your comment.

Great tip on the wireless receivers, I'll be checking them out, cheap as chips! By the way, if the duct tape doesn't do it, or you're still getting a bit of crosstalk, you could also just use a short male to female jack extension lead out of the amp, and plug them in there, so that the receivers aren't sitting right slap band next to each other sticking out the face of the amp.

By the way, if the duct tape doesn't do it, or you're still getting a bit of crosstalk, you could also just use a short male to female jack extension lead out of the amp, and plug them in there, so that the receivers aren't sitting right slap band next to each other sticking out the face of the amp.
Thanks for that info and I'm sure your tip would work but the duct tape really does the job....we do a lot of gigs and they have been a godsend...👍💕🎶🎵☺️
Great revue by someone who knows about get ins, amps and gigging. I bought one! and it’s a lot cheaper than the ‘established’ battery powered units..it’s ideal.
Thanks Denny...it really has been a Godsend to us especially for the majority of the small to medium gigs we do...saves lugging around a load of heavy gear...just wish I'd got one years ago...would have saved me a lot of money...ah well....glad you like it...👍😊💕
I picked one up with birthday money. I had a terrible week busking. I haven’t been using amp for two years busking. Decided to try this amp: I already had a clip condenser for my banjo. It has been a game changer. My busking tips have grown exponentially. I use an e bike, it goes in the front basket.
That's brilliant to hear Timothy....we use ours at all our gigs and it's never let us down....good luck with your busking....👍🤗🎵🎶
Sold! Thank you sir. Very helpful
So pleased to be of help....we just love ours and use it for running our Eagle Ukes class and all the gigs we do....it really is brilliant...have fun with yours...👍🎶🎵💕
Sounds Very interesting!
THANKS !
Hi Graham, Brilliant stuff, great video. Lots of tips love the tape on the senders' great amp me and the wife use the ukulele cordless systems I find I have to charge them every gig Graham I was thinking of buying the more expensive ones because sometime I forget to charge them up and have to go back to the jack plug I was looking at the more expensive one as a option and see if we get a longer playing time it just a wee thought we have the AER 80 watt Pro it's a great amp with 4 inputs I think I will try the Splitters Graham many thanks God bless you and your family fa your Scottish fan Ricky
Thanks Ricky...we do have to charge the wireless pick up and receiver after every use but have got into a habit of doing that straight away.
Your amp sounds great with it having 4 channels and the splitters are great if you need more mics...
God Bless you all...👍🎵🎶💕😊
Great review. One possible strange question seeing its a amplifier ! can it be turned down low enough for practice in the home and still enjoy the reverb and courus whitout neighbours banging on the wall. ?
Yes....it can be turned down Stu to a very low level....we use it in our home which is a mid terraced house but keep the levels down and not had any neighbours complaining.....it's a fabulous amp...👍😊🎶🎵💕🥰
Thanks Graham, i was going the Hivibe or tonewood way but with having 2 main guitars this is the obvious answer plus a mic slot as well , i'm going to puchase the BP80.
@@stuberesford4115 ...I'm sure you won't be disappointed Stu...we love ours...it's been a game changer...👍😊🥰🥰🎵🎶
The only thing about heavy splitter? Make sure the cables are supported so you don't wear out the jacks
Thanks for the info...👍😊
Hi Graham just bought this amp today after watching this review. Extremely happy, sound is fantastic for my needs. Much love from 🇦🇺🌏🦘
Thanks fantastic Fenella..☺️..I'm so pleased your happy with it. I continue to use mine every week and for everything...it's so versatile...and I've even used splitter on splitters so I can use 6 microphones along with 2 lead instruments....it's the main band system we use now and so much more portable than our other big system....sending you and yours and all in Australia our love and best wishes..👍😊🎵🎶💕❤️
Hi, great review. Is it possible to record songs using the aux output?
Hi Matthew...I'm not sure...in the blurb it says it can be used record so you should be ok...it's not something I've looked into to be honest...the good thing is you can return it to Amazon if you're not happy with it....we just love it for our class and use it in all our gigs and it's never let us down and has saved so much time in setting up as well as far less to lug around. I wish I'd got this before all my mixer, speakers, stands etc but hey ho you live and learn...😊🎵🎶
Thanks for that Graham
Glad to be of help....👍☺️🎵🎶
Thanks! agreat vid.... do you have a link to the Y cables?

I got a BP 40 (80watt) and it works great!
They are such great amps...I couldn't be without mine ....👍🎶🎵🥰💕
How is the bass response with Bluetooth music being played. The BP60 doesn’t have enough bass
@@jimsimonian All seems good to me when using Bluetooth and music from phone but I got it for the amp side of things....👍🙂🎵🎶
Roz is probably in the other room thinking....what the heck is Graham up to THIS time?! LOL
...haha...she actually encouraged me to do this review as it's saved us both humping so much gear around and we thought other folks may benefit...it's a brilliant amp....😊👍
Sending you our love and best wishes and thanks for always raising a smile with us...👍😊😆🎶🎵💕
The only issue I can see with this is the lack of a footswitch connector. So I'd still have to carry my effects box to switch up for a solo
@@Stig4997 ...thanks for pointing that out....I don't use foot switches so never a problem...🤗👍🎵🎶
@@EagleUkes I doubt if it's a problem for most. I play with a group of a dozen or so ukuleles and I want to play acoustically during verses but boost for a solo. My uke doesn't have a readily accessible volume control
@Stig4997 ...hi....in our Eagle Ukes group I do all the solo parts but have an Aklot Acoustic tenor so dead easy to twist the volume up then down again....so a brilliant, low cost uke and by far the best uke I've had...👍🎵🎶💕🙂
Hi Graham, ive just purchased this Amp , but i notice when i turn the master volume up to about quarter of the way there is a lot of hissing from it , have you had any issues with this . Thanks Chris.
Hi Christopher.... I've not had that issue and we use ours on a weekly basis...just check the " Gain " isn't set too high....I have the gain at about 25% and increase the master volume...if you have problems id send it back as it sounds faulty...😔
@@EagleUkes . Hi Graham thanks for getting back to me, sounds a really good amp as well, just that annoying hiss , it was off eBay said it was an ex display model, perfect condition as well, at least I have the option of a 30 day return policy.
@@christophermcgachan6799 Hi Chris....it sounds like something's faulty...ours has been fantastic and transformed all our gigs with the versatility of what it can do.....I'd return it and get your money back.
Do u get a bit of white noise/hum when turned up full blast without any instruments plugged in?
Hi....never had mine turned up past 3/4 to be honest but I've just got it out and turned it to max volume and there is a very slight noise ...not any hum though
Can you play Bluetooth backup tracks and play on top of them?
It connects to Bluetooth so yes you can...I've just been playing my uke over the backing track to " Make you feel my love "...have fun...it's a great amp..👍🎵🎶🥰
@@EagleUkes Thanks - I am looking for sth simple for both acoustic and electric guitar and vocal, harmonica and tin whistle.
Hi Graham, hows it going? Could you run a bass thru that??? Tony in Normandie
Hi Tony...I doubt it...I'm sure bass need special bass amps due to their lower frequencies....I know one of our Eagle Ukes members ran his bass uke through my other little amp and it's never been the same so not worth taking the risk....though you could contact CoolMusic and get an official reply....👍😊🎶🎵
Would this be ok for a small acoustic solo gig in something like a social club
Definitely....it's got great volume if needed....👍🎶🎵😊
Hey Graham, what voltage is this beast? There are 3 to choose from, 80, 100 or 120.
@@keyrarobinson3356 ..hi Keyra...mine is the BP80 though it has 100 watts of power....it's enough for everything we and our group need. I've not tried the others but one person who has the most powerful one the 120 watt said he got feedback so then got the same one as me ( the BP80 100watt ) and has had no problem with it. I think they do a 40watt version which will be lighter and cheaper but not as loud. If I ever needed another amp I'd buy this BP80 again as it's just amazing and has all the features I need....hope this helps...👍🎵🎶🙂💕
Can i use it for recording on my pc?
I'm not sure about that...it does have other inputs for phone etc...
Can this amp power a pedal? 9V out? I want to power a NUX Optima Air...
Not sure Steven...you'd need to contact Cool for Music about that...👍😊
Hi mate, im looking to upgrade to either this one or the 120W version.. $60 difference on my end but not sure if ill need 120W for busking. Im currently using the JOYO AC40 but it only has 2 6.5 inch speakers and it cant handle when i go wild on the guitar 😅 cheers
Hi Aston...the BP80 ( 100 watts ) that I have is loud enough for all our gigs but if you can get 120watts for just $60 more then I'd be tempted...it's always great to have a bit more in reserve for when you want to go wild...👍😊🎵🎶...I must admit I've only ever had mine on 3/4 volume but all our gigs are inside so the volume will be less outside so I'd say treat yourself and go for the 120W.....please let me know how you get on....👍😊🎵🎶🥰
@EagleUkes they just dropped the price on the 2 biggest Cool Music amps on ebay so i grabbed the 120W! Should see it next week, very excited. $347 down from $399 🕶
@@EagleUkes the 120 dropped to the original price of the 100 😎
@@nathansweeneymusic ...brilliant...go for it...have fun...👍😊🎶🎵💕
How's your 120w BP60 amp going? Sound clear and louder? I am deciding between 120w and 100w.
Duct tape is pretty much the repair kit for my coroplast bicycle camper
It certainly comes in handy...🤣😂..thanks for watching and for your comment..👍😊🎶🎵🥰💕
Gr8 Review...duct tape included!😂
Thanks so much....I had to give the duct tape tip Incase folk went wireless...thanks for watching and for your lovely comment ...👍☺️💕🎶🎵
works for electric guitars??
Yes it's an amp for guitars as well as Ukes and any other instrument that plugs in with a 6.35mm jack...👍☺️
How long does the battery last, say, at a gig?
We e had 4 mics plugged in on splitters and two Ukes and it's done a 3 hour night with no probs...I'm sure it'd go for 2-3 hours more as after a gig the useage we've had only takes 1/2 hour to fully charge again....its the best thing we've bought in years...just wishes id come across it years ago...hope this helps...😊👍🎶🎵
Can I run my pedals thru it?
I don't use any pedals Lyle so I'm not too sure...I just use the mic and line inputs...for my mics and instruments...I'm sure if you contact CoolMusic or a dealer they would help you...👍😊🎶🎵
Thanks Graham. Does the bluetooth work well without any interuptions ? Have you use it at all ? Cheers.@@EagleUkes
@@lyledouglas8324 ...the Bluetooth works great Lyle....we use it in the intervals at our gigs so we can play music to the audience usually off my phone or iPod....I also use a USB stick at times for interval music....it really is a great amp and the fact that it is rechargeable makes it so portable....no need to worry about a long mains lead from a socket....it's not let me down yet and is my main system for small to medium size gigs now....saves so much hassle carrying speakers and stands and stacks of cabling around.....👍😊🎶🎵
I was thinking of getting the BP60d to use for electric guitar have you or any of your mates tried an electric guitar thru yours? Do you think it would sound ok with vocals also?@@EagleUkes
@@lyledouglas8324 Hi Lyle...I'm not a guitarist so no one has ran an electric guitar through it...just electro acoustic ukuleles which sound great...especially with the reverb and chorus effects you can add on from the amp...👍😊🎵🎶🥰
how has this aged …..aka can it take a few small nocks etc
It's still used every week and bounced from the car to venue and no problems yet. ...we've just got back in from another gig where the amp was fantastic...it seems a very solid piece of kit and when it ever gives up on me I'd definitely get another...it's worth it's weight in gold....👍🎵🎶😁
@@EagleUkes wow …..cheers that is very useful feed back ….would you or did you consider another amp of this material worth ?
