He expressed his disappointment on the audio release stage which did not go down well with Ar Rahman who then went on to ban the lyricist from entering his studio. This rift went on for quite a while. Vairamuthu then as a revenge managed to 'steal' Rahman's brainy programmer Harris Jayaraj.
