Even when Oda himself was drawing this chapter, he also cried alot. Thats one of the main points of One Piece - doesnt matter who u are or how u look like, we all share things together that makes us alike. We all feel the same. And well yeah - i watched this moment few tens of times at least, still hits the same == Why One Piece is great? It makes u cry rivers over a BOAT.

It wasn’t luck that merry broke, just as iceberg came. She was trying so hard to keep it together, and once the galley-la ship came, she was able to finally exhale knowing she wouldn’t drown her crew and could finally allow herself to succumb to her wounds. At least that’s how I interpreted it.

I'd love to say that it gets easier to see Merry go, but it doesn't. I don't even know how many times I've watched that, and it gets me every single time. Merry was the first place that Usopp, Nami, and Robin had a family since their respective mothers passed. She was first one to show Chopper the world. Merry was not _just_ a ship, she was a crew member. It's also been a while since I've seen somebody get that Grandpa Revelation. A lot of the newer reactors I've watched came to One Piece from the live action, and they spoil it there. There are a few episodes left in this arc, and it includes a significant lore dump. You might want to take notes.
