As an ark player that doesn't kiss the devs ass like some other players keep in mind there's also no game play or announcement of gamplay for UE5 and they expect their players to spend on 90 dollars on it bc the base game is unplayable without the dlcs and this game is diseased with aimboting cheaters and have given no details as to their new anti cheat system
You are not wrong, having to pay again is def a slap in the face but I can understand it to a degree, It would have been better if all dlc's were included in the respawned bundle, cause I agree, they are an important part of the game. Along with not showing us anything, they also didn't even give us a solid release date, just "by end of August" so who knows when we will actually see it. Having a gameplay trailer/side by side comparison to go along with the annoucnement would have gone a long way. Cheating has become a major issue across all online games these days, I am curious to see how well the new anti-cheat works, hopefully its strong enough to keep the losers who cheat away from the game but I guess time will tell. Hoping to see some answers in the potential community crunch today but with the backlash that they have been seeing all week who knows if we even get one this week lol I am still excited for the new version, but I think they have dropped the ball on the delivery for sure.
Ya it’s kinda strange, it’s almost like we are getting a whole new game with a bunch of the features that were promised for Ark 2 and then Ark 2 was treated like “well you guys don’t want it anyways so we just added that stuff to the first game” while I’m excited about the new features and overall upgrade for Ark:SA this announcement has me a little worried about what Ark 2 is actually gonna be when it releases… Thanks for watching!
I'll never understand why Devs feel the need to completely rebuild the formula that made a game work... do the same as the last game just expand on the idea to make it bigger and better. I understand they are in a tough spot cause there will always be the "oh this is just a reskin of the last game" people but if they wanted to make a completely different game they should start a new franchise under a new name rather than trying to poach the players from the previous game... Battlefield is the perfect example, 2042 as a non Battlefield game would have been great, but as a Battlefield title it was a massive letdown and completely different from what made Battlefield great. I'm hoping the added development time for Ark 2 will allow them to make significant changes to the core of the game, because I agree, who wants a Dark Souls Ark? lol
