Tara, thanks for demystifying bow stringing. Every tip makes me look less the tyro. Cheers, Jamie.

    Great job on the video.
I'm reluctant to teach the push method to beginners. Too often they forget to turn their head, they tend to want to see where the string is going. As you mentioned a slip could send the bow tip into their eye. In Boy Scouts i was taught the step through method. Put bottom tip of bow over left foot so it is held in place with hand grip facing to your right. Put right foot through bow between bow and string, then pull bow toward you as you place string on bow tip. That way if you lose the bow it moves away from you.
Needless to say, with any bow stronger then 10 pounds I make my kids use the bow stringer.

I agree, the stringer is always the best and safest way to string the bow!

I think I'd been shooting for 40 years before I learned what a bow stringer is.

I've never even tried stringing/unstringing without a bow stringer, there seems more to go wrong for both you and your equipment doing it by hand, even if it's just a small chance

Wouldn't recommend for high poundage bows.

The Push Pull Method is definitely harder to string the heavier the bow poundage. Great point! Always make the bow stringer your first choice for safety!

Time to buy a bow stringer. I can only just string my 35lb recurve. Thx once again, Coach!
