My top 11 would go like this: 1. Outback - not only was the Tiger Force version a great figure but this hit all the nostalgia buttons for me. Plus he is my favorite figure as a kid. 2. Rock ‘N Roll- the face sculpt is amazing and I love the tattoos, even with them he still feels like the OG-13 figure he is supposed to be. 3. Desert Commando Snake Eyes - this figure came out of nowhere to be one of my favorites, when they announce him I was confused but after getting him in hand he became one of my favorites of all the line. 4. Snow Job - this was the perfect deluxe figure that came with all the right accessories and Arctic figures in general are just so damn awesome. 5. Firefly - Had this figure not had the loose waist he would have been higher as the original 3.34 figure was one of my top 5 as a kid but this has everything the original had and more if you don’t include the gummy weapons. 6. Grunt - This was a great release, not only giving me another OG-13 figure but is the perfect one to use as a custom for the other OG-13, luckily I took advantage and picked up 7 from Target when they were so cheap. 7. Agent Helix - I loved her in the comic books alongside Snake Eyes and was pleasantly surprised to see her released, she has a great head sculpt, the mantis blades are dope, and adding another female in the line doesn’t hurt. 8. Dreadnok Ripper - The best Dreadnok to be released so far, they made him to perfection although he is missing his backpack, but thankfully Gridiron fixed that with their Ripper load out. 9. Low-Light - probably one of the most underrated figures released that doesn’t seem to get a lot of love but he is great overall and it is awesome that you can remove the goggles and actually see his face which gives him more of a personality. Wish they would have included additional head sculpts for Barbecue, Shockwave, Beach Head, and any other masked figure. 10. Dreadnok Buzzer - as with Ripper, missing his backpack was a downer but Gridiron saved the day and released a Buzzer load out that fixed him and also picked up some replacement glasses that stay on better than the horrible ones that came with him however, as with Low-Light it is nice to have removable glasses to see his face but wouldn’t have minded an additional head sculpt with the glasses molded on. I know I mention Gridiron a lot but I replaced his sniper rifle with one of theirs and he looks so freaking awesome. 11. General Hawk - I wasn’t as excited as most for this figure as I wanted the Colonel Hawk more, maybe he will come with the MMS. Hasbro killed it with this figure, the head sculpt was better than expected and whole body looked great, the addition of two goggles was nice but the weapons were kind of lame but I have replacements for those. Honorable Mention: Cobra Eel (never liked underwater figures but these are so damn cool looking and Snow Serpents not in the top 11 due to some of the accessories and nowhere to put the damn knife. I cannot include Mutt & Junkyard as I should be getting them soon and it is now 2024 but he would be very high on the list had I got him when you did. If I had included the Retro carded figures on this list Storm Shadow and Snake Eyed would have been my #2 and #3 as I am a sucker for ninjas, the more the merrier.
This is the best Best of 2023 list I've seen so far, well done. Your #1 is the best figure since Classified started IMO and I am glad to see you give it the respect it deserves. Scrap-Iron is #1 for me, he looks soooo rad using his remote control to shoot awesome rockets at cruddy Joe wimps. Plus the excellent face sculpt really improves this already-great character immensely (I always thought the original O-ring version looked like a hobbit or a Fraggle or something, with his cartoonishly massive shnozz). My rationale for them not giving him any sort of rifle or machine gun is that he's not really down on the battlefield mixing it up like that; he's more aloof and raining down explodeys on them from afar. 🎉 Happy New Year, APWT

What a great idea for the tiger force recomdo and Snow Job outside his standard issued gear!!! You got me thinking he may be a great candidate for my builder with wolf spider’s build out. I’ve taken a few ML head sculpts to add onto the wolf spider buck actually to go along with the actual wolf spider Varma because I really like that figure for building out extra figures. I may paint one or two of them at some point. I think I’ll use the recondo tiger force though as you have decided to use though rather than open my last wolf spider Varma buck but hmmm I’m on the fence. Great break down of your top 11 2023 GI Joe classified figs. I’m still salty I missed out on the modernized Eel figure this year lol I don’t think I’ll understand the decision to push a retro version of this Eel when the modernized one is so good and visually not a total redesigned Eel at a high level. I know you’re detailed and can point the changes out between the original and the modernized but to me they should just do another production run of the current Eel in classified and call it a day. Especially if sales end up being weak for the retro eel anyway. Hopefully they’re bought up fast like this modernized eel has been. Happy new year and great top 11
Great list , Retro Walmart Snake eyes should have been Hasbro’s first classified Snake Eyes in the line . We where lucky to snag one early on from Walmart

great list, 11, why not? retro snakes eyes I wanted to have the wolf and a sword, and mine has plenty of guns, but this version is special to me, and looks a bit better even retro Stormy I could nt find him, got classified instead to make sure I d get close enough Scrap iron [classified] I had a scene with him vs retro ironman, for months, it looked good I even added Firefly later for support Grunt I want a small elite team, not an army like my 80s, and it s too expensive enterprises... so I stick with him as a Beach head or Shockwave type of agent Snow job could nt get him, [online] but you have the right idea, I d like just arctic uniforms for other agents just swapping heads is a good concept Torpedo I never opened the box, I have no eels... I hope for retros man, you have a lot of stuff... good show bro

Desert Snake Eyes would've been the Classified option. I kinda like him since he's an original paint style. 🎨 We already have a Comando Snake Eyes.
