Surely when transferring fish from one container to a tank you SHOULD use a net. whatever is on your hands is transferred to the fishes skin, also as we are hot blooded we can be extremely hot compared to a fish.

Yes they are safe even without filtration just add fresh water plants so that your water will become clean and free from ammonia
