All the four members of this group appear to be really lovely, warm, grounded individuals that haven’t been consumed by vanity and arrogance which makes them so appealing
Completely agree and they are always smiling not with depressed faces like noawdays
So, this wasn't a single and didn't exactly light the world on fire, but both Frida and Björn have spoken about how much they like it. I actually think it has one of the most beautiful openings. Frida shows off those low notes! And she's got pretty eyes. I think they were hazel, which is why they seem to change colors.

Her eyes are green, but it's true that eyes do change colour depending on what you're wearing. And throughout your life too. My eyes were always hazel, but they're green now, go figure! 😂

Its a "king" in the guy's own mind. He thinks he's the best at getting the ladies but the song is his ex laughing at the fact his new girl left him or is 'ruling' him this time. Sort of "Oh you think you're the big guy and everyone will do what you want? Well now you ain't in charge no more".
Thats my take on it anyway.
I know ABBA were performing to the record and I know it fades, so I was interested in how they get out of that in a 'live' performance. I guess the director had the audience signalled for when to clap. It was fun seeing them talk at the start too.

it's a great song (7/8pts) with Frida so sweet in leads voice in the introduction verses,
that change the rythm when Agnetha join her and do a fantástic duet again
I think that Frida is more seductive in her solo while the music begins as a ballad disco; and then the two female voices in the chorus are much powerful
And the musical introduction is amazing!

ABBA won the Eurovision Song Contest in the mid-70's with Waterloo. ABBA has never put out a bad song. Their harmonies are very tight and tunes are so creative.

You’re so funny😂this song Together with ”The day before you came” is my two favorite songs with ABBA. Both because they are just good But also because those much more common songs with ABBA i have heard thousands of times. OMG this song. The combo of bass, percussion, strings and that Rhodes or Wurlitzer (not sure which), and of course those vocals... very smooth and sexy, and totally late 70s. Love it.

A lot of young German men were soldiers at that time whether they wanted it or not.

Himmler, Hitler's man in charge told the soldiers to fratinize with arayian looking women to multiply the race. Lots of times these children were sent to Germany to adopt out and "germanize" them. Scandinavia was perfect. Frida was to be part of that. When Germany list the war Frida's father fled before she was born. She didn't meet him till she was almost 30. Her Norwegian mother , who died when she was 2 leaving her an orphan and grandmother got her out of Norway to Sweden for her own safety as Norway treated those children and their mothers horribly ostrosizing them. Putting them in institutions, experimented on them, etc. Frida was lucky. A true survivor

@@Lisa-M keep it secret? Lol. He stayed at the lyngstads home. They were not happy with teenage sinny having a relationship with a married man with 2 children. He knew exactly what he was doing. I'd be willing to bet Frida was not his only Norwegian child. The Germans accepted children from these so called affairs as lebensborn children. And yes her father fled. He knew how to get in contact with the lyngstads but never ever did. It wasn't until a magazine article that named her father as Alfred hause that Frida found out her father had been alive the whole time

Dude, the "King" is that typical Alpha Male: earns the big bucks, wears the Italian suits, hangs out in expensive restaurants and exclusive clubs and has women falling at his feet. But, BUT (cos nothing is really wrong with all that) he has such an arrogant attitude, behaving like a dick thinking nothing can touch him. Until he falls for a certain lady who eventually rejects him and *BAM* his life is upside down, he's clumsy like a clown, the king has lost his crown. I tend to view this song as a follow up to "Man in the Middle" from the eponymous ABBA album. I've just made that connection now! Cheers, dude, enjoy your summer lovin', have yourself a blast! 😎
