I really like this episode because it shows that there are different ways of coping and moving on Aang and Sokka’s opinions are different from Katara and Zuko’s, and they don’t change by the end of the episode or assumedly ever, but it doesn’t stop any of them from healing and moving on. None of them are wrong, and even if Katara couldn’t go through with it, she doesn’t feel the need to forgive Yon Rha to move on and I feel like that’s just as important of a message as learning to forgive people.
Ultimately, the journey allowed Katara to forgive herself (and Zuko). It was always her episode, and Aang and Zuko simply played supporting roles in different ways.
0:50-0:58 "How do you think I felt about the Sandbenders when they stole Appa? How do you think I felt about the Fire Nation when I found out what happened to my people?" Aang went into the Avatar State in those two instances he mentioned (when he met the Sandbender who stole Appa and when he found out that his fellow Air Nomads were wiped out by the Fire Nation). And to this day, Katara still doesn't understand... that Hama unknowingly got her mother killed because her newly-discovered Bloodbending caused Yon Rha to carry out that attack on the Southern Water Tribe out of paranoia; all he was told was that the Bloodbender originated from the Southern Water Tribe.
Well, he went into the avatar state, but he didn't go through with killing anyone. He was comforted and stopped by Katara in both instances. Basically, he attempts doing the same here for her.
The difference is that Aang barely lived a year with that knowledge. Katara’s lived her whole life with that pain. Solely because the mother died in her place. Her hate is a pain that festered for years, for Aang it may have well just been 2 days.
Could you maybe do a "what if ... " video, where the story would be: what if Zuko didn't refuse help from team avatar when his uncle was injured by Azula?
The quote I didn't like part when Katara said to Sokka: "Then you didn't love her way i did" is selfish, if her Dad overheard what she said to Sokka, he will be so disappointed at Katara. I wish that episode has a deleted scene.

@@RolandVaVaexcept the issue is that aang cant comfort a pain. Aang already had closure. He attacked and nearly killed the sandbenders as was stopped.

Widescreen ATLA 🎉
Tbf, Sokka was more closer to his dad than his mom. But that shouldn't make Katara right either.
The Southern Raiders episode gives me Batman vibes!
Or John Wick Vibes
