Like the river raft stage, there is a different version of the clock tower stage music in the arcade version specifically. Unlike the river raft stage, which isn't extended until the home releases, the clock tower stage music was originally extended in the arcade, but part of it got cut off when hitting to the home releases.

Part of that Unique Madness that this game have, is this apparently "Out of place" Jazz . It just works so good, that i can even Say that MvC2 has one of the best soundtracks in the History of videogames . Awesome game, beautiful music. Those were the real good ol' times .

mvc2 came out at a time where capcom was....something else entirely from what it is today. actually, i think they just had jazz phase where anything and everything of theirs had to include some form of jazz, while current capcom nowadays is hooked on electro.
never owned this game until i got it on xbox live, around the time this game came out i was like 5 years old and I didn't really get to experience arcades frequently and with overprotective parents they never let us go outside frequently, and anytime I saw this game at the arcades there was usually people playing it all the time, I just got it the other day on XBLA and I can now see the reason why there was always someone playing the game.
I can see what your saying. I see the rock fitting with more of the harder core fighters like Guilty Gear series and other games of the like. I respect everyones tastes in music and in general, you usually don't hear a jazz theme for fighting as a whole even in movies. It's more of that epic, orchestral, climactic score of instruments similar to what you hear in most superhero/action movies for example. But jazz in this case as with Skullgirls to me works rather smoothly.
True story here: Its the end of school, my fucking IT teacher fucking yells at me and I walk out of the class alone. This theme starts playing in my head and I get a "Haters gonna hate" feeling.
Why couldn't this Jazzy scheme that MVC2 had be in MVC3 and UMVC3. I do like the new Danger Room stage music with Professor X looking at you in the background and the hand hideout along with Shadowland stage BGM for the Dynamic Setting in the options. Asgard, Asgard Sea Of Space, Metro City/Metro City of Future Past, Shield Airshow and Shield Helicarrier, and Save the Earth/Galactus's Theme also.
Whenever it snows, I always have the urge to play this theme. No matter what.
It's my winter tradition honestly.
