At the very least put a little salt on the avacado. One of em said it was bland. Well, yeah, without salt it would be. Onions and lemon/lime turn salted avocado into guacamole... but you always need a coating of salt to bring the flavor of avocado out.

same way we'd start one in Florida. I'm a boomer so that's the time frame. But I'd suggest grafting and getting it sooner. Also, the Mexican avocados were best. Several types like Mexicola and Haas. Our Florida avocados were huge and good, but too watery for guac. Later we got more avocados in the grocery stores so people didn't grow them as much.

    • @maiiam6062

That method did not work for me at all... I use large soda bottles and cut the top off for a net cap, place seed in and fill up with enough water to touch the seed...they make very long taproots and since than I grow every seed lol and hope they grow here well. I love growing trees...the fruit variety is extremely beneficial :)))

Raeen, avocado is great when you mash it, spread it on hot toast and a little sprinkle of salt. Delicious! It would also be good if you blend it into a mango lassi or blend it with milk and banana for a delicious drink. The seed cannot be eaten, it contains toxins, but you can plant it and it will become a very big tree. It’s a tropical plant.
You can also use avocado with chicken, hard boiled eggs, and salad.

There is a coffee substitute that is made from the peel of the avocado. It can also be steeped in a teapot to make a tea. The seed can be boiled like a potato or eaten as part of a smoothie using a Vitamix. Cortez used the liquid of crushed Avocado seeds as a red ink. Good catch on the idea of the idea of mixing it with spices.

Gotta put a little olive oil, salt and pepper on it. With a little bit of lemon juice.
Or put it on your Navajo taco. Can be used as a substitute for oil when baking too. My favorite is fresh. I wait to hear them drop from the trees so I can go scoop them up before the kids lol.
Can be used on salad, garnishes, or even on toast. It is the good cholesterol that's in it too making it a good substitute for butter. Southern parts of India should be able to grow the trees, which would reduce the cost. I buy them 2 for $1 when my 2 trees aren't ripe with them. I would never eat them if I had to pay over $5 for one. That's crazy expensive.

Shrimp cocktail is very good. Use 4 or five avocados, sliced them in half take out the seed, start slicing the insides into small pieces, scoop them out of the avocado skin into a big bowl. Then dice your tomatoes about 4 or 5, then dice half of an onion but no more than a whole onion. Dice 1 bunch of cilantro very finely. Add these 3 ingredients to the bowl with the avocado. Squeeze the juice from 5 limes and reserve. Prepare precooked deveined shrimp, or use store bought and prepped, about small bag 2 or 3 handfuls of shrimp. Add the shrimp to the bowl, pour the lime over the shrimp. Then, add one cup catsup, 1 cup fanta orange, any orange soda, then fill the bowl with clamato juice about 4 inches above the ingredients and stir. You have shrimp cocktail. It's very cooling in flavor and crisp. Very good dish served with crackers. You do not cook any of the vegetation or liquid in this dish, just make sure the shrimp isn't raw. Raw shrimp would be used in ceviche which cooks in the lime juice somehow.

We usually partly mash cubes of it and add chopped tomato, a little lime juice and a little chili flakes.. Most of us in my area don't want it completely mashed for that. Cut cubes might be put in a green salad with raw onion and grapefruit wedges. It's also good with sliced poached chicken breast and onion slice in a sandwich. In a sandwich some people completely mash it up and use it like mayonnaise spread on both slices of bread.

If guavas grow in your area then you can grow avocado trees stick toothpicks around the seed (so it doesn't fall in) and sprout it in a cup/glass of water. My grandmother has done this many times. Just make sure to put it in a place where it can get some sun. One way I have heard that you can use avocado is to make ice cream but I haven't tried it yet.

It's loved (or hated by some) because it's not sweet or sour like most fruits, but instead has a buttery texture & mild flavor. It goes very well in lettuce salad with raw onions, red grapefruit sections and a sweet poppyseed dressing. If they can grow mangoes they should be able to grow avocado trees. Avocados are also pressed for kitchen oil.

In Costa Rica we eat it with salt and it increases its flavor, not just because of the salt but a reaction. Also, as some of them said, in salad or as guacamole.
Additionally, please tell Areen that many countries are using the seed powder to create disposable spoons, forks and plates to replace plastic ones, they are ecological and degrade in soil faster than plastic.
Also, I don't think there would be much trouble to plant these in India judging by the weather. They take 5 years or so to grow though.
By the way, its name in Spanish is Aguacate.

Ok day 2, no Sarru....☹️ Oh I love avacados! I eat them too much! I like them in scrambled eggs or with hummus in a wrap, or just salt and pepper right out of the shell , And of course guacamole! 😋 (lime juice, tomato, onion, salt, pepper..) it’s one of those foods that take on the flavor of whatever you put it with. They’re about $1 a piece here. Gopi was right about the oil and Raeen was right about the seed, and I hope they know how healthy avacados are for us. 🥑💝

You can eat the seed/kernel if you want it frsh cut in quarters put in heavy duty mixer. Drying the seed out you can grind it in to a longer lasting powder. The taste is very bitter do to tannins so add it strong flavored items. The seed contains a natural fungicide. Also dry the seed then plant if it grows in 15 years you may have avocados .
