And I got the action super low on mine just by adjusting truss rod (it came with a bow in the neck). Keep an eye on both musician’s friend and guitar center... I’ve seen it on sale as low as $229. And if you get one that quality control didn’t catch or something, call promptly, and they’ll send another or give you a discount.
How does this compare to Mitchell MX430QABNAT Exotic Series Acoustic-Electric? Looking at the Yamaha FS830 as well. Any suggestions for an acoustic electric under $350?
I actually found one of these by the trash at my apartment, looks brand new. However, when I play it it has a slight buzzing sound, can't figure out where that is coming from.
The capo buzzing on the lower notes on the fretboard is so annoying! I found though that if I used the Ernie ball curved side of the capo, I haven’t had an issue since! Don’t use a super flat capo on it. It sound gorgeous and I love mine. Super low price point for super great sound and quality. It sounds better than my more expensive guitars.

Thanks for another entertaining review.. I'm glad someone out there is talking up the quality of Mitchell guitars. There's been a fair amount of brand bashing in other reviews. One blogger when as far as saying Mitchell is the absolute worst brand out there (along with Rogue). I've owned 2 Terra 300 series models . Both were sale priced at only $229. Great sounding guitars and as you touted very easy to play..I couldn't be happier. P.S. I own one of those $700 Martin X series and while I like it I find myself reaching for the Mitchell more often.
It has an open pore finish, so I think it would be more susceptible to humidity but I’m no expert. There are some carbon fiber guitars on Amazon. I think they would hold up better. Get a cheap one and put a good pickup in it and you’re good to go!
I haven’t played that particular Fender, but I have played some in that price range, and they are great guitars. I’d say the main difference will come down to aesthetics. Looks like the Fender has a gloss finish so it will be shiny and the neck can sometimes feel sticky if you don’t wipe it after each use. The satin finish on the Mitchell isn’t as pretty, but it leaves the pores open so the wood resonates just a bit more. That only really matters if you’re playing unplugged... it will project a bit more. And the body size... the Mitchell is an auditorium...a bit smaller than the full dreadnought of the Fender. I’d put both guitars on the same level. If there’s any way to play them both, you’d have a better idea, but you can’t go wrong with either. Good luck!
I think the difference would be subtle, but probably noticeable. The T stands for torrefied which is a process that artificially ages the wood so that it sounds more like a vintage instrument that 30-40 years old. Generally, acoustic guitars get a fuller, richer tone with time. If you can afford the more expensive one, I’d say it would be worth it. If you played them side by side unplugged, you’d probably hear slightly more bass and mids from the torrefied one (hence “full rich tone”) The regular one would sound brighter by comparison. Plugged in, I doubt you’d hear much difference with the stock pickup.
I've been looking for an acoustic electric guitar for a long time and I've looked at over 40 guitars and this one has to be my favorite sounding if I can find a place to get it at I'll definitely get one.

I love it but i need something very similar but thinner. Any recommendations? Doesn't have to be electric. Just want a good guitar. My dreadnought is way too big. At the same time I dont fingerstyle. Also whats a decent looper and do i need an electric for that?
This Mitchell is smaller than a dreadnought, but not dramatically. I'd check out the Big Baby Taylor, GS Mini, or Martin Little X. You might even want a 3/4 size (the Big Baby is 15/16ths size while the Baby Taylor is 3/4)
Hello, could you tell me if the body of this guitar is suitable for someone who is just starting out? Are the strings low, close to the fretboard? Is it too large? I'm looking for a guitar that is good for beginners but can also accompany me for a long time, even as I advance in my skills. Thank you.
Yes, this is a good beginner guitar that you could also use for years. I needed to make a small adjustment to mine to get the strings lower. It was a simple “truss rod adjustment” that any shop should be able to help you with if needed. Many guitars come through different climates before arriving to you, so this adjustment is sometimes needed. Yours may arrive in perfect shape, but if the strings seem too high off the fretboard, find a ship or friend who knows what they’re doing, and they can help you.
I almost got a Vangoa, but it's a blind buy online vs. this one I can try at Guitar Center... After hearing it compared to the other on just TH-cam videos, I think I would like this better. You did the best review. I'm a little late to the party, but thanks for the review.
Also, I’ve played the beginner Fenders, and they’re nice. I think the Mitchell D120 is a standard in that price range. I’m not a big fan of Dean or Johnson, or a lot of things on wish. Just look up a review on TH-cam for anything you’re considering.
@@justinbishopmusic it seems like these guitars aren't available in my country(india). People over here vastly use yamaha f310 but i wanted something else. I was considering maybe fender, cort or ibanez. I was confused about what to choose
How would you rate this versus a Yamaha FG800? I'm making my first beginner guitar purchase. Your title says best acoustic, so I'm guessing I already know the response. Just interested to know how you compare the two. Thanks
Yamahas probably have a little better quality control, and the FG800 has a gloss finish (Marshall has satin) and solid spruce top, so your tone might be a bit brighter. The big thing is that if you ever want to plug it in, the FG doesn’t have a pickup. You’re probably getting a better acoustic sound with the Yamaha, but the versatility of the pickup and the cutaway of the Marshall are what sold it for me. You can play it high up the neck like an electric if you want to learn some lead, and the neck is thin and very easy to play. The mahogany of the Marshall has more midrange making it a warmer sound which I prefer. I’d say if you just want to play around the house and like shiny finish, go with Yamaha (inspiration from how it looks makes you want to play it more). If you want versatility, go with Marshall.
@@justinbishopmusic I’m really trying to find a comparison, orange wood’s Morgan Mahogany seems to be the strongest competition in this range here. The Mitchell seems like a good choice though, I’m digging the look and sound of it. Great video dude, much appreciated!
@@justinanthony7641 ok I looked up specs…biggest difference I see is the Orangewood has a 1mm bigger nut (44vs43 on Mitchell). This doesn’t seem like a big deal unless you have bigger hands. I have a 9.5” spread from pinky to thumb, and the Mitchell felt a little cramped for some styles, but it actually made fingerstyle easier to reach weird chords. Hope this helps!

Which grade Yamaha? I have one of the transacoustics (the LL-TA), and there's no comparison there...the Yamaha is way better. If you have the entry level Yamahas, I think they're in the same ballpark. The tone of this one is going to have more mid range because of the mahogany top. The Mitchell has a thinner neck than my Yamaha which for me makes the Mitchell easier to play. I had to do some adjustments on the Mitchell to get it setup with low action, but my Yamaha was ready right out of the box. If you're used to a gloss finish, the satin of the Mitchell is a change, but it really is a beautiful guitar, and the open pore finish makes it more resonant than you'd expect.
@@justinbishopmusic Yamaha Fg700. Love my Yamaha. Got another Yamaha very similar. Though I wanted to try this Mitchel guitar. I have a buzzing sound on all strings, and the two lower strings don’t play when pressing the fret. Is this fixable?
@@TheRealBlueStrawberry There are several things it could be. The most likely is that the truss rod needs adjusting. Hold it up with your face near the bridge looking down the strings toward the headstock. See if the neck bows toward the strings in the middle. You may need to loosen the truss rod. You can look up how to do this on TH-cam, or see a professional. If the next is straight, you might need the action adjusted (the nut or saddle would have to be filed). These are harder to fix. Good luck!

I just bought one for $250 it's my first guitar ever
Hope you love it as much as I did! I have some beginner lessons here if you need: th-cam.com/play/PLRz3ek9zER1itIHLiu04LcEG6EyOkhGtV.html
I almost got a Vangoa, but it's a blind buy online vs. this one I can try at Guitar Center... After hearing it compared to the other on just TH-cam videos, I think I would like this better. You did the best review. I'm a little late to the party, but thanks for the review.
Not too bad have you played the seagulls s6s? seems pretty close
I haven’t played that one, but every seagull I’ve played is nice. Only thing I don’t like is the headstock.
@@justinbishopmusic haha just noticing the sale on that one youre playing but I should be getting rid of some instead of buying any.
Can you recommend a $200 acoustic guitar. (with or without pickup)
Yes, Sigma guitars are well made. Check out my review here: th-cam.com/video/xeHb1EV5Wik/w-d-xo.html
@@justinbishopmusic holy cow.... It sounds like heaven. Are you sure it comes at $150 cause it sounds so good???
Also, I’ve played the beginner Fenders, and they’re nice. I think the Mitchell D120 is a standard in that price range. I’m not a big fan of Dean or Johnson, or a lot of things on wish. Just look up a review on TH-cam for anything you’re considering.
Oh, and one more thing, I’ve seen the guitar in this video go on sale for a low as $229.
@@justinbishopmusic it seems like these guitars aren't available in my country(india). People over here vastly use yamaha f310 but i wanted something else. I was considering maybe fender, cort or ibanez. I was confused about what to choose
no demo on the pickup? damn
@@justinbishopmusic Thank you so much for the detailed response. I greatly appreciate it!
Great review ..! What about Vs Fender CC-60SCE .. appreciate ya

Do you think this is better than an Orangewood Morgan Mahogany Live?
Haven’t played one, but I’d venture that quality control might be better with Orangewood. Anyone else know?
@@justinanthony7641 what did u end up getting what is better
Where did you get the guitar at?
What kind of microphone are you using?
It came with a Scarlet 2i2 interface bundle. Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 Studio 3rd Gen USB Audio Interface Bundle with Pro Tools First, Microphone, Headphones, XLR Cable, Knox Studio Stand, Shock Mount, and Pop Filter (7 Items) www.amazon.com/dp/B07V7HG5YG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc_7Si5FbZV33RF3
Any special strings on it?
Elixir Nanoweb Phosphor Bronze Lights (12s)
Will this guitar disappoint me? Been using Yamaha acoustics.
I removed the strings and put brand new ones, it does exactly the same thing.
Good luck!
is it electric or no?
Acoustic-electric, yes. You can plug it in. And it has a built-in tuner.
Tried Orangewood??
I hear good things about them, but no, I haven't played one yet.
All the guitars when you play it in guitar center they sound great like 12 strings, loud and punchi when you purchase one as soon as you gets home and play it the guitar sounds like 4 strings only bwahahaha 😂 then you thinking to upgrade your room to get that good sound bwahaha 😂
🥴😂🤷♂️
