Now that you've done solid top and the laminate top "best value" acoustics - I'd be interested to see (hear?) how big a difference in sustain/resonance and tone there is between the best of the laminate tops vs the solid tops.
Thanks to Meg's very through review, I bought the Fender Newporter Player, but in Candy Apple Red. I couldn't be happier with the purchase. It's a great sounding guitar and very easy to play.
The new Fender Sonora is a great solid top budget guitar as well. Small body and portable, but great sound. Only issue is trying find them in stock anywhere :)
S D: ya the reason you can't find them easily is because, they sell out of them as soon they get them in. i didn't even know this guitar existed at first until about a month ago, but i knew about the Fender Acoutasonic, ever since they came out with that guitar they sold like hotcakes. then Fender came out with this new acoustic, and it's the same with that. Fender opened up a can of worms ever since they came out with the Acoustasonic, everyone wanted one based on the overall positive reviews it got. i haven't checked to see if they got any new one's of this acoustic guitar in yet, but im sure there's some by now.
I just bought that newporter. Im a novice player that mostly plays rock and metal . Everyone needs an acoustic and i fell in love with looking at this. I was hoping for a fender at some point so it scratches two itches at once. Super excited
Thank you for this thorough review! Was very useful! 👍 And... just 3 years have passed, and Fender lowered the quality of the CD-60S. Now they no longer have a solid topc, but a laminated spruce... 😒
The Fender CC-60S in all mahogany with it's smaller concert size body is a better option for beginners than the CD-60S Or from the ones you have tested i would go for the folk sized Tanglewood. If you are a beginner please make the effort to try before you buy a guitar.
Great review. I need advice ,thanks for possible information. What is the difference between Fende cd-60S and Fender cd-60 v3 ? Since I am brand new to this I intend to take one of those two guitars as his first learning guitar.
The tcy10e is a pretty electro.not the best sounding because a slimline and ply top.nice frets and action,1st class tuner and preamp. But a let down as a acoustic.
Is it just me, or are the D and G string farther apart than the rest of the strings on the Fender guitar? I’ve never seen that error, even on a lower priced guitar! (Although the pick guard is also 1mm or so off-center on my Yamaha FD-01S, but that’s much less noticeable.) Edit: it seems like the A and D strings on the Washburn are too close to each other as well.
I have the FG800M and it's one of the best I've owned.
I agree completely. I have had one since the FG800 replaced the FG700 which I think is about 8 years. Still sounds great. Thanks for the great video.

I just bought my first guitar it was a Tanglewood TWBB OE Blackbird Folk, acoustic electric. I am so excited I got it brand new on sale for €174

Played some of the Yamaha FG series (FS800 FG800 FG830) and they sound good until you want to play higher on the neck. Only reason I don’t have one
A great review on some nice options at a great price point.
Nice review, sicknof sunburst finishes. The Washburn in a cutaway would sell me.
This is an awesome video. I need an acoustic but don't need to get spendy. I'll consider these for sure.

I have a Yamaha FG830 with solid top. A bit of step up. My Alvarez AD66SHB with a sold mahogany top that is so responsive at a great price.
How did it sound after you sold that mahogany top?
😁
@@JeanClaudePeeters I still have it.
Two great guitars. Well chosen.

The cc-60 isn't solid top is it?
@@fordman7479 You are wrong! from the spec on Fenders website-:
Solid mahogany top with scalloped "X"-bracing.
Please check for yourself🙂
@@Barbarapape a question can't be wrong it's not presenting a statement. check your self XD
I'd go for the tried-and-tested Yamaha FG800 even though the Washburn and Newporter are way more expensive.
Wow the Washburn sounds awesome 👌
Great review.

The tangle wood is the obvious winner
Great video!!! Thanks a lot!!!!
What a beautiful chord progression 3:03. Can anyone tell me the chord progression at 3:20 to 3:27 please
Sounds like David Crosby'',Laughing'' from If only I could remember my name.
Very nice video !
Hello, nice video. Any opinion for Ibanez talman tcy10e as a first guutar maybe to share?

Ladies & Gentlemen, please welcome glorious guitarist Megan Linford!!!!!
picked up an ex demo tanglewood for £84 today :D its pretty much brand new
I liked the Yamaha sound best and the Washburn second...

Wish there were such lovely as my ex F310
Just the other day I was seeing solid top guitars under $200 now i can't find them. Must have been sales.
Yamaha F-335 is pretty good
all reviewers fail to mention the nut width..
i wonder why..
then i ask myself the same question again
is this all solidd top?
Beautiful eyes .. Attractive smile and Curly hair 😍😍😍❤️❤️🧿💯
A lot more out there than what she's showing.
Do you want her reviewing 200 guitars in one video?
Give us all some recommendations then mate.
Annoys me when they don't mention the actual price of each guitar! 🤬
Beautiful eyes , attractive Smile and Curly hai😍😍❤️❤️🧿💯
FG800 sounds superior
